We had drinks at the bar while we waited for our reservation at Reunion Ktchn. We were immediately greeted by Rafel, the handsome, energy filled bartender. He heard it was our first time there and was excited to recommend the best drinks. The ginger margarita was an instant hit for me. It was packed with incredible flavor and garnished with little candied ginger. The smoked old fashion was absolutely delicious. I do plan on returning for the peaking duck ( which was completely sold out!) and blue crab rangoons. Reservations are recommended due to the small size of the restaurant. 5 stars!

THE ABSOLUTE WORST CHINESE FOOD WE'VE EVER HAD. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT LIKE A PLAGUE…read more We made Christmas reservations at XINO in Aventura with my son and sister expecting the "superb" Chinese food we were told about. What we experienced was shockingly bad. Appetizers & rice: The egg rolls were drenched in grease -- if you poured more grease on them they still wouldn't be any more edible. The chicken fried rice was poorly executed: large, unappealing clumps and what looked like pieces of fried chicken tossed in rather than properly mixed -- it was unacceptable. Entrees: We ordered two high-end beef dishes (one described as beef with noodles and mushrooms). That beef-and-noodle plate had decent-flavored beef, but the portion was tiny -- more appetizer-sized than an entrée -- and the noodles and mushrooms were essentially missing despite searching the plate. The other beef dish was just fair. We also ordered grilled salmon and a couple of other dishes I can't recall; overall nothing redeemed the meal. Service & cleanliness: The waiter with the beard took our order and then disappeared. We literally could not find him. We had to flag down staff repeatedly for basic needs. Tables weren't cleared promptly, dishes were left piled up, and dropped food wasn't handled. Getting the check was nearly impossible. Summary: This was literally one of the worst Chinese meals any of us have had. Between the greasy, poorly prepared food and inattentive service, I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant -- and especially avoid being served by the bearded waiter.

It was a little…read moredifficult to find it because it's located on the Mezzanine floor of the building and the first floor is a food court. Once I found the elevator, Kaiju was clearly labeled there tho. The entire bar is dark and has cool red lights all around. We went to the bar to get seated and were led to an open table for our group. Our waiter immediately filled our water glasses and brought the menu. The menu is super cool because each drink is presented as a Pokémon card. There's a lot of info especially on how they compare to classic cocktails. Everything on the menu looked good so my friends and I got a bunch of different drinks. Some of my favorites were the Rodan, Guije, and the pandan drink (I forgot the name). The Michelangelo was also good but a little spirit forward for my taste. I'm excited to come back and try some more of the menu.

This is a fun, trendy bar with delicious drinks and solid service. It's totally worth checking out. First, I love the theming. Kaiju is Japanese for "movie monster." Ever seen Pacific Rim (2013)? The logo looks like a rough outline of Godzilla. The menu is designed to look like Japanese monster (e.g., Pokemon) trading card books. Each cocktail has its own card art, stats, and tasting notes. Neat. And the vibe of the place is like - I don't know - Japanese neon Blade Runner. It's cool. The four of us got a variety of drinks and were welcomed to our table with complimentary shots. I had the Guije cocktail which cost $24 after tax and tip. Yes, that's the one thing about this place - the drinks aren't cheap. Tasting notes: "Guije is a savory, tropical, and funky cocktail featuring Chairman's Reserve Rum spiced with Mojo Criollo, offering hints of bay leaf, pepper and garlic. Along with fresh mango, lime, Maduro, to round out the robust yet tropical flavors." It was strong, refreshing, and fantastic. All of our drinks were presented beautifully too. My wife thought she left her wallet here. The next day, I DMed @bar_kaiju on Instagram and they got back to me in less than a couple hours. Whoever got back to me was responsive and kind. (Luckily, the wallet turned up elsewhere, but their help was appreciated.) Bar Kaiju is located on the 2nd floor (mezzanine level) of the Citadel food hall. It opened in December 2022. I found out after the fact that they were ranked #77 on the "North America's 50 Best Bars" extended list in 2025.

I was especially excited because during Christmas time it was decorated as a Grinch-themed bar, which was super cute and festive. The drinks were very pretty and well-presented, but flavor-wise they just didn't really do it for me. The music also kind of threw me off -- it was much more vulgar than I expected, which I know fits a younger Miami vibe, but it felt like a bit much for my taste and didn't match the holiday theme I was excited for. The bartender seemed a little uninterested, and I wasn't a fan of the cocktails being pre-made, which took away from the experience for me. Overall, I love the idea and creativity behind the space, but it just didn't fully land for me. Glad I tried it, just not somewhere I'd rush back to.
