That beef-and-noodle plate had decent-flavored beef, but the portion was tiny -- more appetizer-sized than an entrée -- and the noodles and mushrooms were essentially missing despite searching the plate. The other beef dish was just fair. We also ordered grilled salmon and a couple of other dishes I can't recall; overall nothing redeemed the meal. Service & cleanliness: The waiter with the beard took our order and then disappeared. We literally could not find him. We had to flag down staff repeatedly for basic needs. Tables weren't cleared promptly, dishes were left piled up, and dropped food wasn't handled. Getting the check was nearly impossible. Summary: This was literally one of the worst Chinese meals any of us have had. Between the greasy, poorly prepared food and inattentive service, I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant -- and especially avoid being served by the bearded waiter.

The menu is super cool because each drink is presented as a Pokémon card. There's a lot of info especially on how they compare to classic cocktails. I had the Guije cocktail which cost $24 after tax and tip. Yes, that's the one thing about this place - the drinks aren't cheap. Tasting notes: "Guije is a savory, tropical, and funky cocktail featuring Chairman's Reserve Rum spiced with Mojo Criollo, offering hints of bay leaf, pepper and garlic. Along with fresh mango, lime, Maduro, to round out the robust yet tropical flavors." It was strong, refreshing, and fantastic. All of our drinks were presented beautifully too. My wife thought she left her wallet here. The next day, I DMed @bar_kaiju on Instagram and they got back to me in less than a couple hours. Whoever got back to me was responsive and kind. (Luckily, the wallet turned up elsewhere, but their help was appreciated.) Bar Kaiju is located on the 2nd floor (mezzanine level) of the Citadel food hall. It opened in December 2022.
