Acai Smoothie - I was disappointed
    Osula L.

I came here via car on a Wednesday afternoon in mid-June 2024. I parked in the public parking structure one block South of the store. It was a paid parking structure but it was free for me since I was in and out in under 20 minutes. I walked from the parking structure to the juice bar, and when I got there, only one person was ahead of me. I ordered their medium Acai smoothie since I wanted a banana, blueberry, and apple juice smoothie but figured this version would be a nice meal replacement. FYI, they do not take American Express. The drink was $11.02 for their 22oz cup. The drink was ready quickly and they had individually wrapped plastic straws at the counter next to the drink pick-up area. I picked up a straw, unwrapped it, and placed it in my drink as I walked out back to my car taking my first sips of the drink. I noticed that it tasted very like alcohol - kind of like when a fruit is on its way out. The drink was okay but it was definitely not what I expected. I hoped the drink would get better but it never did. I barely drank any of it and tossed it when I got home. At least my parking was free. I'm not sure I would trust enough to purchase another expensive smoothie from them.

    Breakfast Burrito

I visited Da Juice Bar after my Saturday gym class. The establishment is located next to Porto's. I initially wanted to get Porto's for a sandwich, but the line was outrageous (like always). But it all worked out! Da Juice Bar had breakfast burritos which was delicious. It had crispy bacon, sausage, potatoes, eggs and cheese. i added avocadoes, because I had to treat myself for going to the gym on a Saturday morning! Da Juice Bar serves mainly organic juices and smoothie bowls, but I was craving heartier. I'm so glad they had such a wide range of options. They also carry homemade frozen empanadas. The place is small, and there were 2 tables, which were taken when I was there. I ended up eating in my car before my drive home.

It's been years since I've been to Da Juice Bar (I used to work in the area) and boy how I've missed it! Their breakfast burrito is so delicious and not overly large... just the perfect size. Drizzle the orange hot sauce on top and it's just perfection. Their acai bowl is equally delicious with 2 scoops of acai, topped with granola, strawberries and bananas. The best part is that the acai is frozen pretty solid so it travels well and isn't acai "soup" by the time you reach your destination. When I got home it was the perfect consistency. The prices are very high though... a breakfast burrito and acai bowl came out to over $30! I went back the next day and got just an acai bowl and the listed price said $13.50 and I ended up paying $20 with tip. The math definitely wasn't math-ing. Summary: Delicious food, friendly service but pretty pricey.

Breakfast Burrito - green sauce is a MUST!

More like 3.5 stars for tasty food, portion, and price. The small storefront has only 2-3 small tables in the front and a couple of chairs inside to sit on while waiting for your order. No one seems to eat there, but we observed lots of foot traffic for to-go orders. You can even order ahead for pickup. Da Juice Bar's huge eclectic menu reminded me of an independent Jamba, but more inventive and with cafe food options. FOOD ORDERED - Breakfast burrito ($9.50). A normal sized burrito, not a massive baby that needs to be saved for the next day. When we cut it open, it looked gray and sad, especially the large mound of mashed potatoes (not mentioned on the photo ad) in relation to the egg and bacon. Eating it straight, the burrito tasted better (3 stars) than it looked (2 stars). The mashed potato itself wasn't too wet or dry, and it was seasoned. However, adding the green salsa put it over the top. The salsa was a concentrated flavor EXPLOSION: garlicky, savory, mildly spicy, with a depth of roasted flavor. The mashed potato transformed into the perfect vehicle for the sauce. With the sauce, it's really good. I think the red sauce was just an asian chili sauce on the sweeter side; skip it and ask for extra green sauce! - Avocado toast ($10). A hefty slice of chewy sourdough bread (light on the fermented flavor) with avocado puree, balsamic diced tomato, alfalfa sprouts, and feta cheese. I wasn't expecting the sweet and sour balsamic; it was good, but a touch too sweet. It was surprisingly filling. Overall, not bad, but I would have prefer a more rustic mashed avocado.

Spicy Chicken Wrap and Breakfast Omelette split in half with my partner

So many great things to say about this place. First off - my boyfriend and I are regulars here. We love it so much, a healthy alternative to other spots out there and the people that work there are always so sweet! Looking for something healthy? Juicing? Healthy meals? This is your spot! We typically order: Spicy Chicken Wrap on a Spinach wrap: Beware if you're not one to like spicy things, this may not be for you. The spicy mayo pairs so well with the chicken, romaine, tomato, sprouts, red onion, Swiss cheese and BASIL. A very unique taste, but not overpowering and tastes amazing. I highly recommend. Breakfast omelette - something so simple yet so good! I love the little bits and taste of bacon in each bite. We usually get ours with egg whites and tastes really good with the spicy mayo or the green chili sauce they give you. I highly recommend this too Breakfast burrito - Same as the breakfast omelette yet wrapped in a burrito! It's not your massive breakfast burrito you're used to getting at Albertos, but its smaller and still good enough to keep you full. I'm so happy this place is here and hope it never closes down. It's a favorite forever!

$25 for lunch. $9 lemonade is crazy. But I do enjoy their food.

It's gotten expensive. $25 for lunch. $9 for the lemonade alone which was all ice. The food is good. I do enjoy it but the prices have gone up so much.

This is my go to after the gym. I either get the veggie cocktail or green juice. Can't go wrong with either one. I also get the kale salad! They also have a point system if you frequent this place. Very fresh! Parking is a little difficult since it's in Glendale. They have a slight parking lot in the back.

Their Açaí bowl is phenomenal! I couldn't wait (I dug in before taking these pictures) but presentation was there. I added coconut shavings, honey and peanut butter to mine. Da Juice bar is always my go-to whenever I want something fresh and fast. Thank you to whoever put mine together, it was delicious!

We ordered a Greek salad which was excellent. It has a good amount of seasoning and a light dressing which gave it a really nice flavor. Next we had a grilled chicken plate. The chicken was tender and juicy with a nice, subtle flavor. The fries were light and crisp and it came with a nice little side salad. The patio area was really quaint on a nice evening. The owners and staff are very pleasant. Some parking is available behind the store or if you're lucky you might find street parking nearby. I ordered a veggie pizza and Greek salad. Carrying it home in the car, it smelled delicious. The salad was pretty good, we enjoyed it very much. The pizza had a stiff crust which stays flat when cantilevering a slice into your mouth. But the crust lacked flavor. I wondered if it was a true pizza dough recipe or a flat bread recipe. I prefer a pizza dough that has had a slow fermentation like 24 to 48 hours. Especially for a $25 medium pie. The veggies were plentiful and fresh. The sauce was ok. The cheese was an understatement. I can't say that we really enjoyed the veggie pizza. I gave Viking another go, thinking perhaps a meat pizza would be more satisfying. The Makhshosh has 2X cheese and a German Sausage topping so I thought the combo of more cheese and meat would be helpful. Ok I liked this pizza better than the veggie one. But I prefer a crust that has a rim that has risen in the oven not lay flat to the very edge. That makes me think this is a flat bread dough recipe. I can't put my finger on why I am not delighted with their pizza recipe but I've had better pizza at other places for less dough. (I'm not talking about Dominos or Little Caesar's). You can search my reviews for pizza places I like. I do wish they had more creativity with their cheese selection. They have many unique meat offerings but not much variety in cheese options as far as I can tell. Adding in some sharp cheeses like Estero Gold would help accent the pizza and stand them out from the crowd. Being a Swedish theme place I'm shocked that the Swedish meatball isn't a topping option. Also there are two charges you should be aware of when using a credit card. One is a 5% fee for using a card, then there is another 5% platform fee for ordering with their website. The website order claims I saved one more fee of 10% by ordering from them instead of a third party platform like UberEats or DoorDash. Add in the 10% tax, your $25 pie now costs $35 and that doesn't include the tip yet. The only way to avoid the extra fees is to call up and order over the phone and pay in cash when you arrive at the store.

We ordered the Philly and Pastrami to split and share. We dined in which was among a few small tables situated between the shelves of well-lit and visually clean bottles of liquor. Service was friendly but nothing memorable. After about 10 minutes, both sandwiches were brought to our table. They were hot and came on toasted rolls. Not really sure what bread specifically but seemed a bit like French rolls. Crunch crusts with soft middles which helped to cradle the fillings and absorb the delicious meat juices. The pastrami was great and not overly salty. It had a great zing from the crunchy pickles and mustard. The Philly was nice and gooey. The beef had great texture and was dripping with flavor (literally). Both were very good but I personally liked the pastrami better. If you like meat though, neither will disappoint. We will be back to try the other sandwiches. The only down side to our visit was buying sodas at the store. Their prices weren't listed and in my head, I expected them to be $3 or so. The Mexican Coke and small bottle of lemonade were each $6. $20 for a sandwich isn't cheap, but it price didn't make me gag--but I almost physically gagged when i saw soda prices ring up.
