This place is a hidden gem! Walked in after visiting three different eyeglasses stores off of main st... I am so glad that I finally found a good eyeglasses place that I can go to from now on! Comparing with all the other main st's eyeglasses selections, this store offers more variety of designer glasses and of good value as well!!! My entire family has been customers here for more than 20 years. The employees here are so knowledgeable and friendly; it's well worth paying a bit more for their expertise compared to buying cheaper frames online. They explain everything and answer all questions. They're also really good at picking out frames for you that suits your face. You tell them what materials you want and your budget and they always pick out the right frames. My sister and I have both been coming here for years to get our glasses and contacts. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable especially the owner. They also have rebates on the oasis contacts so I always end up getting a few bucks back. Everyone is so nice starting for the front to the optometrist. They're always looking to save us a little bit of money on the side as in saying that we don't need another eye exam if we were here a year ago and can see perfectly well etc which I totally agree. I still get my eyes checked every two years though and my eyesight as been exactly the same haha They have a wide range of eye glasses ranging from low- high end. Also have a wide range of sunglasses and color contacts. They're never pushy on trying to get me to buy expensive products. They are happy with whatever I'm happy with! Got my new pair of glasses here after looking around a bunch of other korean shops. They offered me straight forward prices, not pushy at all, and eye exams were free with a frame purchase. The staff here were all very accommodating and trying to make my visit as simple and timely as possible since I had to leave within the hour. I had already pre-selected my frame so when I came in (there were a few customers) it took me around 45-50 mins to ring up my frame, take an eye exam, wait for my glasses to be made and purchase. Shoddy business practice. Called twice to verify contact lens price but when I got there price was higher. Optometrist had the biggest stick up her butt nor did she have any manners - major attitude from someone who couldn't answer simple questions and coughing without covering your mouth while confined in a small space (no thank you to your nasty germs) Went to pick up contacts, asked for prescription for the eye exam only to be told it cost an additional $20 .... Why you ask, this is what I was told by the staff, the optometrist from the school of drop outs needs to sign it so it cost $20 for the unknowledgeable person to scribble her name... I was so appalled and flabbergasted that I just walked out because I was just wasting my breath explaining to them there are laws... Overpriced and shady business practice. read more

I've been coming here for so many years... And I never gave it a second thought until I started looking around to see if there were any better deals. First, this place gives free eye exams when you purchase contacts or glasses. I've always thought this was standard but other places can charge 100+ for this? Ridiculous! Second, their prices are super reasonable. The staff is always patient and friendly and your order is often ready within a matter of hours. For contacts, the prices are comparable to or even less than contacts.com+eye exam. Third, they are very generous with the discounts and samples. (Look for the older, smiley guy with glasses and gray hair, he's the owner so he's allowed to be even more generous). Last time I just wanted a box of contacts and I had a choice of waiting 30 minutes or taking an open box for $5 off. Heck yea! Wonderful, knowledgeable staff. Wide selection. Great customer service. I've been having trouble finding suitable plastic frames for my face for a while now. The first most notable offer this place offers is the attachment of nose pads to any type of frames for $50. This opens the door to an infinite amount of options for me, problem being that my bridge is too small. The patient and polite staff were able to pull many incredible selections in a matter of minutes for me to try. They listened to my needs and even gave me a few pointers about which frames were more age-appropriate (I am an adult but I can pass as a teenager). The sales people were not too pushy; they offered just the right amount of support while I made my decision. Dr. Kim was speedy and efficient. I cannot emphasize more about how polite and joyful the entire staff was. When I picked up my glasses, they even helped me adjust my old frames because I expressed that I had some issues with the fit. They were knowledgeable when teaching me about how to properly care for my glasses (no lens cleaner on the plastic frames; they will lose the shiny top coat). Lastly, they knocked off $50 from the total and the eye exam was free. Important note: they are no longer at the above location. Do not trust them with your eyes! Details: my mother went in for new glasses. The ophthamologist told her she didn't need the new ones. When she tried to leave, the owner and employees ganged up on her to make her pay DOUBLE the cost. When the dr agreed that new glasses weren't necessary, they wanted her to get glasses a dose higher than what the dr prescribed!!! Unbelievable. I've been getting my glasses at Dabo for the past decade or so. I can't say much about their eye exams because I usually bring in my own prescription, but their customer service has always been impeccable. The entire staff seems to have a great deal of expertise in helping you select a pair of specs that will complement your facial structure, as well as stay within your intended price range. They're VERY patient - I tried on a bunch of different frames before I found "the one" and I never felt rushed or pressured to buy a more expensive pair of glasses. Was searching Flushing for a suitable place to get some stylish glasses for a decent price. Had lunch near Main Street and walked by this place. Decided to go in and take a look. The lady who helped me was very nice and showed me a variety of difference frames. She was very patient and very knowledgeable. Price for the glasses was very good and maybe it was a slow day or something but my glasses were ready in about ten minutes. I had some issues with how the ear piece fitted my head but I got the adjusted and now they fit great. They told me to come by anytime to get the adjusted. Overall I am very satisfied. They have a wide selection of glasses, sunglasses, and contacts that are perfect for any price range. They also have several specialty contacts that are hard to find anywhere else. I can't believe I hadn't written a review for this place yet! I've been coming to this Dabo Eyewear location for over 2 years now. Even though I only come in to refill my contact lens prescription every 6 months or so, the staff always remember me! I love working with Amy the best. She is friendly and fun to talk to. Really, everyone there is personable and professional though. It seems most of the staff are trilingual, in English-Korean-Chinese, so I can refer my family members to them. My dad also comes here. I love their selection of designer eyeglasses. I have 2 pairs from them: a Tiffany's, and a Dior. Each time I stop in I have the Dabo team readjust them and clean them for me. I just had my Dior lenses replaced and they gave me a great deal. They are always giving me the best deal they can as a loyal customer. The staff here is extremely amiable, professional, and makes me feel comfortable. I came here recently to get contacts after my old eye-wear store closed down. Don't get me wrong, I've been a patron at this store for 5 years, and they've been in this business for a considerable amount of time. In the past few years they've relocated to a much larger facility so don't worry about feeling stuffy and congested while waiting for an optic test or while they prepare your glasses. I bought two sets of sunglasses and spent almost $1000 in this store, I liked what I bought, and the staff was nice too. So naively I thought, since I spent so much money there, maybe I could bring in my glasses for a quick fix (readjusting the frame), but the boss refused to do it at first since I did not purchase my glasses there, then he wanted to charge me additional $5 for the readjustment. I mean $5 really isn't much, I was planning to give a couple buck to the staff as tips anyway, but it was his attitude that really upsets me, at the moment I felt like the boss man wanted only money and cared nothing else about his clients, regardless how much money I spent in the store. The service was awesome here! My husband and I bought 3 pairs of glasses and a year supply of contact lenses from here and we're very happy with the experience. The staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. They were very welcoming each time we returned to check up on my eyes. A couple of months later, my husband broke his glasses and brought them back and Dabo fixed it with a smile, and free of charge. We're happy that we found an optical place we like and trust! According to some reviews mentioning that they are "money-hungry", I have to disagree in my case. They didn't give us that vibe and in an example, they recommended me to get normal contact lenses instead of the ones with astigmatism (which is more expensive). After calling around to find a place with a cheap eye exam fee we found this place. My boyfriend needed a new pair of glasses and because he doesn't have insurance we thought the glasses would cost a lot more, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very helpful and took out a number of glasses for my boyfriend to try on and after about 5 minutes he had a pair of glasses he liked and they were super affordable. We thought we would have to come back a different day to pick them up but the lady informed us they would be done in an hour, talk about fast service. Me, my dad and My grandma have been coming here for years!!! They are soooo kind and VERY patient! When my prescription was big difference from the ones i was wearing, they made sure i felt comfortable. They had me walk around, and I was very pleased that they want to help you see as best as you can. This is a GREAT place to go and plus, im 12 years old and they have the BEST glasses! My friend was recently diagnosed with diabetes after a ketacidosis emergency. He recovered fine but his eyesight took a hit. We saw an ophthalmologist and visited a few eye stores with a prescription for new reading and everyday glasses. All of the other stores gave us quotes for either the new glasses separately or for combined bifocals/progressives. To be fair they were pretty consistent in their pricing ($200-$400 range). The optician(young & nice) in Dabo asked why my friend needed new glasses & correctly pointed out that his lens prescription will probably change in a few months when/if his blood sugar is brought under control... the ophthalmologist had independently warned us of this. Despite losing business of at least $200 he recommended a temporary(month or two) pair for $70 that was intermediately placed between the prescribed reading and everyday glasses.( I should point out that my friend has never worn glasses before so that going with 2 pairs or a combined set would be quite a change anyway). He spent at least an hour trying various lenses until my friend was happy & recommended inexpensive but satisfactory frames. I was enormously impressed with his obvious integrity and with the service provided. The sales guy (maybe the boss?) was equally helpful. If I could give more stars to this store I would do so without hesitation. read more

I have been going to Dabo for almost 8 years now. Over the years, I've realized that there are much better options than Dabo but have remained loyal to them for their kind service until today. In the last year, I had an eye exam for glasses, and contact lenses -- twice for glasses because I noticed that the prescription subscribed to me was not working. (And second one is still not working) Not only was I not offered options for the type of contact lenses I wanted to use, but I had to pay for each of the 3 eye exams for their "mistakes." I understand the reps are not optometrists, but the doctor available should be, right? So I went in today to ask whether I could try a different contact lenses that my boyfriend uses, Coopervision which apparently works wonders for him for his dry eyes and astigmatism. But of course, every person reacts differently to any product. They asked where I heard this from and why I should switch contacts when Acuvue Oasys is the best. ??? I was confused with a reply like such, and asked why I was never even given choices? Again, they respond because generally all our customers like Acuvue Oasys for dry eyes and it is the best. With a response like this, I will never come back here again. Now that I am looking online, Coopervision seems to have the best reviews for dry eyes, and it is my ignorance and lack of research that I was oblivious to these facts. The store is organized and clean. The service is good for the most part. One big flaw they have is the employees don't speak English well at all. They should really hire at least one employee who is fluent in both Korean and English. The optometrist spoke perfect English which was very helpful. I took a pair of glasses (I had done at another facility) that made me dizzy and they were helpful in fixing the issue. The cause of the dizziness was explained to me and I had the lenses redone here. Never felt dizzy again. Recommend! read more

I was visiting New York Queens from Miami, Florida. I sat on my prescription glasses at the hotel, and crushed them. The lens popped out, the frame was bent. They are the flex all frames, which luckily could be bent back to shape. I went to Dabo eyewear in Flushing cause Cohen's was closed. Boy am I happy I did, they fixed them perfect, rewired them with the mono line holding the frames, rimless on the bottom. i have to say ive been going to them for years now even when they were at the second floor location but usually for my contacts...they are really nice and very well priced...but what got me was my trip yesterday to get new glasses...they have alot of frames from basic brands to very popular ones and ALL are within good prices...but when we asked how much the glasses are with the ck frames i choose it was around 300 and they discounted it without me asking if they had any offers or such!!!...they werent pushy or rude and were very patient...BUT key to my post is that where can u get great glasses for a great price and get them ON THE SAME DAY and within 30 to 45 mintues!!!!! ....AWESOME...i highly recommend them to my friends and fam and they say the same so far... read more
