There are a number of teachers -- not sure how many right now -- so there's a range for style and focus, a comfortable place for all comers. They have everything from youth classes to advanced; some of the students do outstanding work have gone on to show in galleries and art shows. TLC Workshops (http://www.tlcworkshops.com) holds workshops at Arts Umbrella studio, hosting some of the best professional artists in the business. I didn't even realize the studio wasn't technically open yet but they had summer camp for kids going on. Kim allowed me to sit and wait in the studio, which was very kind of her. Once it was time for class, I was the only adult surrounded by 6-7 children, which was not an issue at all. Kim was very helpful and descriptive throughout the entire pottery class which made it pretty easy to follow directions. Even with all the help from Kim, my bowl was less than pleasing to look at but it was fun to make! The studio was very clean and welcoming. They had relaxing music playing and they offer a variety of beginner classes. Pottery may not be for me but I never felt judged or less than because of my lack of skills. Megan, who was the gal leading a glass art class there at the time and helping us, offered for us to come to the pottery class that was scheduled in a little over an hour from then. We said sure! She was so nice that she even offered for us to join the glass art class free of charge for the inconvenience! Megan was the Instructor for both the glass art and pottery classes we were a part of. She was very knowledgeable, always eager to offer help and suggestions, and very friendly. Me and my friend had a lot of fun making the glass art that we would not have originally done with out her kindness. The pottery class was very good as well, and she was a great instructor for that too. Me and my friend are both looking forward to how are pieces turn out! Highly recommend signing up for a class here and expressing your creativity!

The corporate office is a different experience and we have had repeated issues with the billing department but they are making efforts to address those. The school can do a better job supporting their staff and could benefit from a few upgrades, not just for the kids, but also for the faculty. One thing to also note, and something that is completely out of the control of the teachers; there have been some issues with billing and invoicing that has been a known problem over several years. It would be recommended to monitor your payments. Over billing has been challenging and the finance team has been unable to process refunds or correct the billing cycles properly. The fours stars is solely based on the teachers. They would have five if the owner and finance team re-invested in this facility, staff, and a better finance team.

If so, how do I see if class other than pencil drawing really fits? There is only 1hour and half, you literally did pencil sketches from an orange to a green apple, from a green apple to a red apple, to a pot with a red apple. Besides, one crew sort of "required" you to literally draw a orange as it is size-wise: it was just so ridiculous! If you want to do figure sketch, you literally have to sketch a human as a human size???I felt it is totally a joke. Not recommend at all.

Also, good luck getting anyone from advising getting back to you. I've contacted them three times with nothing. I am done after one quarter, and will be so happy to go to another college that acts like one for my next quarter. Shout out to the professors I did have that did a great job. Very dissapointed. I'm not yet a student but I live extremely close to Edmonds College and when I started thinking…read moreabout going back to college after a very long absence, I decided to apply. I was very confused as to what steps to take to enroll and even though the college's emails were helpful, I wanted some one on one assistance. So on my day off from work, I drove over and found my way to the Admissions office. I was greeted by the most wonderful woman and I hate that I cannot remember her name, but she was extremely kind and even left her desk at the back of the room to show me where to go to speak to an advisor. When I got to the building across the hallway, I was greeted by a very sweet woman named Ella who helped me set up an advising appointment. Although I hadn't planned on it, I also took a Math and English placement test in their testing center. Everyone there was very nice and helpful. When I met Ella for the appointment, I was really nervous about starting school again, but she was very helpful and offered to look over my transcripts from my four previous schools to help me decide what classes to take. She also eased my fears about my learning disabilities and so forth. The campus itself is really nice. I parked behind the buildings in the visitor parking so I had to walk halfway across campus to find the buildings I needed. But it was a nice walk. The campus is spread out but not so much that you would find yourself turned around. It can be confusing at first, but I found my way to the student union and looked around. It's very nice and spacious and there is a nice bookstore inside. The store was closed but I'm looking forward to checking it out. I am so excited about starting school in the fall and I think I'm going to love being an Edmonds College Triton. I'll keep you posted. =)
