Dahl Ford I bought a used truck with 46k miles from this dealership. Started out with a decent experience. We negotiated the price over text and I put a 10% down payment pending a test drive when I went to pick it up. It drove fine and we completed the purchase. After we completed the paperwork, I asked for the second key and the door code. They could not produce either but assured me that it was with the service center which was closed on Saturday. They would text me the code and mail the key to me. I said that was ok. On my way home, I noticed that the mileage was 5k more than what was listed online and what the price was negotiated for. I feel like an idiot for not catching it sooner. I called back and asked when the last oil change was done since it had been driven a few thousand miles. The salesman said "oh yeah, I noticed that". And you didn't mention it to me?!??!! I didn't raise much of a fuss being a little embarrassed that I didn't catch this sooner. I was told they would look into it and text me on Monday. They did text me the code on the Tuesday after I texted them multiple times but couldn't find a key they said. They said they would make another and mail it to me. They also couldn't verify when it was last serviced because the mechanic hadn't got back to them. After I bugged them a couple more times the next couple days, they told me to go get a new key made and go get an oil change and send a receipt and they would reimburse me. Now it became my problem!?! I had to take 2.5 hours off work to deal with this bs. I go in to get it serviced and found out the battery also failed testing. I sent them a receipt through e-mail for all 3 (oil, battery and key) with a message to respond so I know they got it and also with a time I could expect reimbursement. I sent them a text 3 days after I got the work done to confirm they got my e-mail. Here it is a week later and no response. I can't tell if I'm being ghosted or what. The $900 is a small price for the hassle and to correct what should have been already taken care of when I bought the truck (oil change, battery and key). This doesn't even take into account how they misrepresented the mileage and never mentioned it, much less give me some sort of compensation for it! Be careful with this place! read more

Very disappointed in the service department. I purchased a 2021 vehicle with 38,000 miles. Three days after purchase the check engine light came on. The dealership is over an hour away from me but I chose to take it there since I felt they would make this right. They had my vehicle for a week and claim to have changed a sensor, which they ran under the extended warranty and charged me for the $100 deductible. I didn't care if they ran it under the warranty but they should have comp'd the deductible. Then, not 24 hrs after picking up the vehicle, the engine light is back on. I called my salesman, who spoke to the service representative. The salesman called me back and said the rep would call me after she got through her morning commitments. Fine - except she NEVER called me. She had someone else call me. That person said they could get it back in and it wouldn't cost me because it is the same extended warranty issue and only after I expressed concerns about the hour plus drive, she said "maybe" they could get me a loaner. I wanted to speak to my husband first. That was over a week ago and no one has followed up with me. I feel like, since I don't trade vehicles every 2 years, that I don't matter to them. I ordered a brand new truck through them 2 years ago and went back because I was happy with the service they offered then. Now, I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

Worst experience I've ever had trying to buy a car. I'll keep this short but I assure you that everything I type here is nothing compared to the actual experience. We did our research and found that they offer 110% of KBB trade in value. So we figured up our numbers and went in to look at upgrading our van. Our van was a very nice Toyota Sienna limited with all the bells and whistles and in great shape. It booked at 15k at the time, retail, and around 11k trade in. Blackbook auction value was 8,500. After we looked at vans the sales guy ran and did his little back and forth number run thing they do. He came back and said that the appraiser/finance manager offered us 3,800 for our van. Seriously? So I began getting upset and reiterated the KBB 110% thing and he (finance manager at this point because we wanted to know where the hell this number came from) proceeded to try and point out some little small print crap. So I then pointed out that, even with KBB aside, the auction value was 8,500. He said that it wasn't ...it was 8k according to him. I said, then why the hell are you offering less than half of auction value? He claimed that vans were a dime a dozen and that ours wasn't worth much. Keep in mind that ours was clean and well cared for. Private party was around 13k. So after all of this I said that that wasn't even a remotely fair price and that I didn't appreciate them trying to rip us off. Mind you, we were there with our newborn baby and had driven up from muscatine after having called and asking about the KBB deal prior. What did he say? With the sales manager standing next to him and the sales guy at this time, he said "if you don't like it then go somewhere else". Seriously? So, completely upset and almost speechless at having been treated that way, we were packing up our daughter and getting ready to head out. 6 feet away from us they began talking about us out loud...about us being ridiculous and having pie in the sky expectations. I'm not ashamed to say that I walked right up to the little turd finance manager and proceed to tell him to go fornicate himself. This was 3 years ago and I haven't been back since nor will I ever. Anyone that employs those kinds of people doesn't deserve another chance in my book. These weren't new employees (sales guy was bit not the sales manager or finance manager..In fact the finance guy actually bragged about all the time he had been there and how he knows what he is talking about!)...there were experienced, long time employees. I will never go back and I've told this story to many, many people. Friends, family, and even online at other review sites, blogs, Facebook pages, and so on. I reiterate...WORST experience buying a car in my life. P.s. - we traded the van in to another not so reputable dealer here locally...Lujack Honda. We purchased a used truck from them last weekend, as is, with paper work stating $700 worth of new breaks and rotors. They were installed wrong, so we drove 2 hours back to have them fixed, like they said to do. After two trips there and 14 wasted hours, they treated us very disrespectfully and sent us home with twice turned down rotors that went from brand new, to having .2 mm worth of wear left on them. And threatened to call the cops if we didn't leave. Not to mention my references that they called to try to sell cars instead of ask about me. Treat women like we have an "S" on our forehead. Did not want to trade in my Ford escape, explained I could most likely get a better price on the open market. Ford swayed me into their 125 % blue book value, after knocking my car down on the bluebook listing to "Poor" condition, then deducting 1000,00 dollars for detailing. I was left with an offer of 491.00 dollars for my XLT Ford Escape, my tires are worth more then that !!! What a scam ! Do NOT purchase from this dealership, I as a customer deserve better customer service, and so do you. I was prepared to spend 28,000 until they blew the deal with that bullshit !!! Very disappointing. My family has been buying cars from Dahl for 30+ years, a lot of them I might add. I'm 23 years old and just bought a car with them about a year ago. First when I was buying the car they were trying to pull one over on me, thinking I'm "young and dumb" good thing I'm a financial advisor and know most of there tricks. The sales man (that my family has used countless times) wouldn't budge on price at all. And even pawned me off on a less experience guy so he could go sell another car to someone else. Not very happy, couldn't even spend ten minuets with me. I ended up buying a car. With the purchase came free oil changes. Every time I go to schedule an oil change the guy that is scheduling is a real dick. I don't know if since I'm young he feels the need to treat me disrespectfully or not but I'll take my business elsewhere. I have told my family and they are doing the same. They have always treated my parents so nice but once a young professional (who they think has no money) comes into the picture and whom they don't know, instantly a different act. This has happened multiple times as well with this guy. So beware if your a young professional/family they will try to pull a fast one on you, thinking everyone that is young knows nothing, not a good business motto. First the good. Sales people are quick to see what they can do to help. Really nice people even when you're just looking. Now the bad, the sales people turn surly once they find out you have been doing your homework on car prices. Wanted to buy a Focus SE close to home but the sales person made it very obvious he was not into talking price ... unless it was the price he wanted. Wow, I'm really surprised these guys stay in business. They wouldn't go below $16.3K for an SE but I could go to St Louis and get the exact same car, color and everything, for $14.5K. Hmm, pay $1800 for the luxury of buying local or go else where. Decisions, decisions! We own a Focus SE from St Louis. Disappointed with these guys. I will not buy another vehicle from Dahl Ford. The new 2016 F150 3.5 Ecoboost I purchased had issues starting around 15-20,000 miles. The truck would buck and misfire, enter a limp-home-mode, and leave me stranded out of state, hitched to a trailer that I couldn't pull faster than 30 mph on a major interstate. If it happened at night, I would have to stop traveling until I could make it to a parts store when they opened the next morning to buy a new coil for the #1 cylinder to clear the code and eliminate the symptoms. I took it into Dahl and they noted there was water in the #1 plug/coil boot but couldn't figure out why. It happened several more times- leading up to the tail end of the warranty. One final time, I documented the parking lot coil replacement and observed liquid in the coil boot, and dropped it off at Dahl. They kept the truck for a total of two weeks between September 2017 and July 2018 for diagnostic driving and analysis of the issue. It was communicated that the Ford dealer technical network was trying to decide how to repair. During this time, I was left without a loaner for a period of days before it was determined this would be covered by warranty. Dahl did let me use a courtesy vehicle towards the end of this period because I was about to be a.) stranded in Davenport and b.) without a vehicle for vacation. This was appreciated, although I had hoped I would get a rental loaner the whole time regardless of the status of Ford's approval of the repair under warranty. Final repair of the issue (cylinder head replacement) took three weeks (July 16th to August 7th) with the truck in Dahl's possession the entire time. The return date of the vehicle was incorrectly guessed at least six times, covering a span of 13 days where my truck was "almost done". The truck was to be done on a Wednesday, then Thursday, then Friday, then the next Wednesday, probably the Friday after that, then the Monday after that, and, finally, at the end of a Tuesday. Excuses offered varied from no service tech available to work on it to multiple days waiting on parts. Plans were made several days beyond the communicated date, cancelled, made, and cancelled again. Dahl Ford's non- equivalent loaner policy is terrible. Ford is not required to provide an equivalent (to the original vehicle) loaner per the text of their warranty policy, and Dahl Ford does not offer any goodwill truck loaners for truck owners - even when the delayed return of the repaired vehicle is the dealership's fault. Dahl's five week (total) possession of my truck left me sidelined for four drag races (several of them pre-paid events!) and left me without a truck during the first year of owning an acreage where a truck was required for every large scale house or landscaping project I started. The Ford Fiesta or Escape I received was a pathetic substitute, and I was left dead in the water. When I repeated that the botched repair timeline was leaving me out hundreds of dollars, the best attempt to help was an offer to pay for a Hertz $20.00/day rental but I would be left with paying the $0.80/per mile charge, which would have totaled $800+ dollars for one trip. In summary, Dahl's five week possession of my truck was a massive inconvenience, and they could not have cared less or tried to help less. It appears Dahl responds to these reviews to give the illusion of post-dissatisfied customer follow-up. I wish the same effort would have went into taking care of a customer who received a brand new lemon truck. The best Dahl Ford offered was a "top" trade-in value for the truck to purchase another new truck to replace it, which means I would have to spend a pile of money I didn't plan on spending to deal with an issue that was not my fault with a dealership that has been nothing but disappointment. This is unacceptable. A dealership should stand behind their product and services, and Dahl Ford has failed miserably on both fronts. I deeply regret making my first new vehicle purchase with Dahl. I got s car from Dahl Ford, in Feb 2015. After they talked this big game, of the rigorous inspection that they preform, the motor has problems. I was mistaken, when I took them on their word. The presidential awards that they hag on their wall, mean jack squat. Do not be fooled by them. The motor has had oil slipping past the piston rings, for quite some time now apparently. Dave, at Dahl Ford, said that NO dealership in the ENTIRE US, takes the time to check over the motor, or does a compression check before sale. I call BS. He also said, he refuses to fix it because it's "not our problem". Not to mention, the rack and pinion has been leaking for quite some time now too. So much for the so called "safety check" that they brag about also. I recommend that NO ONE go to them for your needs. They are not honest, in my opinion. I wish I had checked Yelp out first, before stopping in at Dahl Ford and looking at a truck I saw online. The truck, a 2005 Ford F150, seemed to be in good condition, but after I bought it at the end of February 2016, and drove it for about a week the problems, that they obviously hid, began to show themselves. My check engine light came on, as my truck struggled to take hills or even acceleration on a flat. It's been on now for three months. The code reads a misfire in cylinder 3. There is a major electrical issue with various lights on the exterior and interior flickering on and off. My dual exhaust just fell off, as well. Dahl Ford refuses to fix anything. An honorable and honest dealership would have said, "Bring it back in and let us fix the problem for you, since you just spent $12,000 with us." But, instead they ignore my phone calls and emails. I've also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which has helped me in the past to fix faulty vehicles, including a 2007 Chevy HHR that I purchased new, but had power steering issues in and outside of the warranty. I don't hold out much hope, based on the other reviews I've read from customers who have purchased used vehicles from Dahl Ford. read more

Service dept is HORRIBLE and don't say "call the manager" because I have called the manager SEVERAL times in the last month and Ian tells me "I have to talk with April she was the cashier" so I call and talk to April and she says "She has to talk to Ian" Meanwhile they BOTH say they will call me right back and BOTH of them have FAILED to do so after SEVERAL calls EVERY week for over a month now. You should NOT advertise coupons on your website if you're NOT going to honor them. How hard is it to refund the money and leave the cash at the counter for the customer to pick up?? Should NOT take several phones calls & back and forth BS to get done. Every time I call they apologize they've been "busy" and haven't been able to return a phone call. I bet if I walked in with $20,000 to buy a new car they'd suddenly "find time" to assist a customer!! I'm actually in the market for a new car but after dealing with their ***** customer service in the service dept. I can only imagine the horrible service I would probably receive in sales.
