Just turned in my 2016 Forester and drove away with 2019 Forester. I believe that is my best endorsement.

Story: I brought in my Cadillac to get a leak looked at after firestone noted a oil leak on my car during an oil filter change. I scheduled a time and got Mclaughlin Cadillac to do the assessment of where my oil leak is coming from. Mclaughlin Cadillac diagnosed it as coming from my steering gear, oil pan and the oil filter adapter housing. Their team recommended that I repair the oil filter adapter housing and monitor the other leaks. I scheduled the repair based on their recommendation. They completed the repair and I got my car back. It cost approximately 900 USD with the initial assesssment. Upon the first initial return, I noted that the leaking was much worse than when I had originally given it to them. They agreed to have me bring the car back in and assess the problem and see what was causing it. McLaughlin Cadillac scheduled me to bring my car back on 7 MAR 24. Mclaughlin Cadillac had my car from 7 MAR 24 to 27 MAR 24. I was told they identified a manufacturing defect with one of the gaskets, they replaced it and gave it back to me. They said they drove the car and ran it idled for 45 minutes and said there was no leak. Upon returning home on 27 MAR, I checked to see if there was a leak. Yes, there was still a leak. I called McLaughlin and brought it back to them the very next day. They put my car up on the rack and said the leak was now coming from my front cover, steering gear, oil pan, rear main, different cooler lines and possibly a valve cover. It's odd that there was now a leak from many different locations not originally identified when they put dye in the engine to see where the leaks were coming from. I asked for a quote for all of this and when they could get me in for repair. They said best case was mid to end of April. Upon coming back with the list of issues, I was told that the manager of Mclaughlin Cadillac would be declining to do the work on the car because my 2012 is "too old" and "things would keep breaking" and that Cadillac recently released a new policy that prevented them from doing large jobs on Cadillacs older than 2017. This is highly unusual and fairly suspect, it doesn't appear they know what the root cause of the leaks are in the first place. It also speaks poorly to the cadillac brand as when services are most necessary, cadillac will stop working on your car entirely based on their "new" policy. The repair that originally took one day, the second go around took them 3 or so weeks and now they won't even touch the vehicle leading me to believe they caused more issues they now don't want to fix. Steer clear of Mclaughlin, questionable business practices, ultra slow service - which seems low quality. You will likely have issues with whatever service you recieve from them. Additional Information: The owner has previously replied to this review in other venues stating that we "mutually agreed" that I would seek repairs elsewhere. This is untrue, as I was never given the option despite my willingness to pay for the "identified" repairs. Their manager, according to Sam at their dealership, said they would not service my Cadillac.

Sexton worked easily with my insurance. They updated me weekly with the progress of the body work, which I really appreciated. I had to fly in to pick up my car- they gave me appropriate notice so I could book a reasonably priced ticket. Sexton also picked me up from the airport. Finally they offered me coupons for meals and hotels to help with the travel cost, which was so thoughtful. If I lived closer, I would use Sexton for all of my car's needs. I would recommend Sexton!

Arrive and I'm informed that not only does the truck have 3k more miles on it because the sales manager has been driving it but also they did a "Ford blue certification" on it overnight so the price also increased by $3k. Seemed suspicious but after haggling we reached an agreement, against my better judgement. Noticed the coolant overflow was low on the way out and they filled it (apparently checking fluids isn't part of certification?). One week later it was back to the same level, I didn't trust Sexton at this point so I took it to a different (more reputable) dealership to fix it right and have them look at other issues I noticed since purchasing. They fix the coolant issue, which ended up being fairly major, but wouldn't fix this other issues because the truck had been throwing the errors prior to them certifying it so it would be INSURANCE FRAUD since it was obvious if they would have scanned it to begin with. I was then forced to take it back to Sexton where it took multiple attempts to fix and they ended up putting a screw in my brand new tire that I had to take to yet another shop and pay to have fixed. Then they still had the audacity to try and charge me for the service. Now I'm a couple days out of warranty and still having issues pop up with this truck that they are refusing to fix. Avoid at all costs.
