We have a cottage on the property whose foundation is partially set into the hillside. There was a French Drain behind the cottage that had failed, allowing water to seep into the crawlspace and create some mold issues. Adam came out, assessed the situation and came up with a plan that wouldn't drain our bank account. He and his crew dug a new French Drain, installed a water barrier on the concrete wall, then installed a 'catch basin' outside which captured the water from the French Drain to take it off the property via yet another drainage system. In addition, they installed a sump pump and drain under the cottage so that if any subsurface water rose up, it would be drained off as well. That was seven years ago and everything is still working as anticipated. Adam and his crew are amazing and their work ethic is among the best we've ever encountered. Well, it's hard to improve on the reviews thus far. Ditto, ditto, ditto. But I'll try. Adam Dahlen is a gem, the real deal. Whatever land/hill/house/slope problem you are looking to fix, he will help you. Kind, present, smart, capable, skilled, compassionate. That's Adam. I don't know them, but you can tell that his mom and dad were a good part of his life. We had a terrible landslide, 1/16/23, Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, and Adam and his team came in, and bit by bit, took care of it. I'm making small of the situation, but how else to explain it in a Yelp review? It required building a road down a small slot, bringing equipment and supplies down to fix a massive slide. Handling the "little" problems that came along. Day after day, month after month, from June 1 to October 1, 2023, taking care of our landslide. FEMA and SBA involved, the county too. Adam was invaluable last year after two huge trees fell on our property during the twin cyclone. His engineering background was invaluable to understanding the cost of repairs of our property. Also to note that when repairing our foundation a few years ago, he recommended putting a large box drain in our basement . Even with the atmospheric rivers of last year, our basement remained dry, and our home mold free. A great improvement for a minimal cost. I had to replace about 75' of retaining wall on my property. It was too tall and holding back a good portion of the footprint of my residence, so straight timber wasn't going to get the job done. I don't even remember how I found Adam and Dahlen Structural in the first place, but I'm sure glad I did. The I-beam and lagging wall that Adam and his crew built was exactly what I needed. I especially liked his old excavator operator Rigel, but he has since moved on, though I'm sure they have replaced him with someone equally skilled. These guys gave me a competitive bid, brought the job in on time with no change orders, and they left my hillside better than I found it. Adam is a real 'stand-up' guy. Adam Dahlen performed required repairs on our newly purchased home's foundation. He did this efficiently and at the agreed price which was at or below the fee of other contractors consulted. His crew were polite, considerate and exceedingly neat. Adam, himself, is a pleasure to deal with. Several years after the work was done I was offered a significant decrease in my insurance premiums provided a licensed contractor filled out forms certifying acceptable status of the foundation.
