I am hating the Daily Breeze right now. In the last month, I only received 1 of 4 weekend deliveries. I called to cancel my subscription, but the following month, a subscription charge appeared on my credit card. I called to complain and they said they would submit a refund. A week goes by, no refund. I call AGAIN (and each time you go into a long queue waiting for someone to help you) and they say the refund is going through today. RIght. I'm mad now so I ask for a refund for the 3 papers I didn't receive last month and they say sorry but your account is closed. Daily Breeze sucks. I have been a subscriber for many years and went from daily deliveries to weekend deliveries and now if I ever hear the name Daily Breeze again, I will feel ill. read more

I've been a customer since 94 . For the last three weeks I've had to call and report that my paper has not shown up or that it was delivered two hours late. The supervisor that I talked to about the problem blamed it on lack of workers. It cost $1,200 a year to have the paper delivered daily. I called on a Tuesday and informed them that my paper had not gotten here at 9;30 am and that they never delivered my Sunday parrr at all so at noon they brought both papers. Who wants their Sunday paper on Tuesday. Maybe if they paid the employees a little more they could get more help. Maybe someone needs to help the supervisor or manager in the delivery department do their jobs. I'm going to try the Times. read more

I love The Daily Breeze newspaper. It covers the local community, events and activities. The Sunday paper always has lots of coupons and discounts and expanded coverage of the news. I like the Monday morning quiz of the previous weeks news. I like the hometown feel to the paper. Signed up for a free trial offer outside my local Ralphs market to help out a youth who was 'fundraising'. It was $20 donation. I was told I would receive a $10 gift card for taking the trial offer. I waited patiently for the gift card, which never came. Instead I received a collections letter for about $14. Called and expressed my dissatisfaction. They did nothing at all to help remediate the situation. However, they did gladly collect the money they strong armed me into paying (they threaten to damage your credit if you do not pay). Cant wait for a class action suit to be brought against them and they go out of business. Slimy and shady business. read more

Do not use your credit card! You can cancel and these crooks will keep billing you. I subscribed for a month because I was worried about not being able to get toilet paper and it is good for cleaning up oil and fluids in my garage. I cancelled after 3 weeks so they would not rebill. They did. I have had to contact my bank to ask them not to authorize payment EVER. I was a Daily Breeze paper boy for many years. I subscribed to the paper as soon as I moved out of my parents house. The Daily Breeze is a great supplement to the LA Times. I enjoy reading all the local news. The sports section usually has the local schools on the front page versus professional sports. I know whats going on in town and about our local leaders. I still get the LA Times for more info but if I only have time to read one paper I read the Daily Breeze. read more

Well everything was Good until Last Monday I had to call for my PAPER 3 times in in a day and have talked to supervisor but to NO AVAIL O AM STILL CALLING DAILY FOR MY PAPER. Absolutely the worse delivery I have ever experienced!! Horrible service. My poor 88 year old mother wants to read this paper every day and due to poor health looks forward to it. This is probably the worst newspaper in California. I've subscribed to the LA Times, the OC Register, the Sacramento Bee and newspapers in San Diego and San Francisco. The Breeze is the worst. Point of view seems to right of Trump, and stories seem to be chosen totally at random, with no concern as to newsworthiness. Obituaries are the high point of this bird cage droppings catcher. OVER a year, we signed up for the Daily Breeze from a door to door solicitor (student). She had a brochure that mentioned 8 weeks for $20 but also had 52 weeks for $26. We filled out the subscription form and rather than marking the 8 week option, we checked the second blank box and filled in what brochure said: 52 weeks for $26 and checked the 'Paid Cash' box as well. Needless to say, we never received the paper and have called NUMEROUS times and assured a refund was in the mail. Last time was 6 weeks ago and I spoke with 'Laurie'. Called again today and due to a power outage, the CS is unavailable. I will change my rating when I get my refund in full. What a disappointment! read more

I read only the Sunday's version of either L.A. Times or DB. So I ordered and prepaid for 4 Sunday deliveries of Dec-2018 on 11-26-2018. But got only 12/2/18...Then 12/9/18 whole country the newspaper delivery system got hecked no delivery of any newspaper in USA. 12/16 & 12/23 got no papers too. And DB keep take money from my checking A/C, under the name MNG Metro PPD. Also I got the pass due balance for some service I didn't order. I called (310)540-4141 Both Denise & Alex are good customer service, who got me out of the black holes of DB's billing schemes. From now on...I buy the DB Sunday from my local newspaper stands only. - DB's delivery person are good, but the system(for planning) of delivery is not. - Customer service team... some are very good, I got a good service experience with Denise & Alex in AZ. I have been a weekly subscriber for several years. Our first grandchild was born on 11/30/2019. Unfortunately, the copy of that days newspaper wasn't saved, so on 12/14/2019, I called customer service to see if I could purchase a copy of the paper. I was full of joy to find out that I could. After paying $7.50 via credit card over the phone, I was assured that a copy of the paper on that cherished day would be on its way. Well... after nearly 2-months and a half dozen phone calls, I still don't have the paper. Today's 31 minutes on hold followed by a disconnect is why I'm writing this review. I have been told that I need to talk to a supervisor "Geri," but that never happens. Every time, "Geri" tells her associates to relay the same message to me... "it takes 4-6 weeks to process." Really??? To mail from Torrance to Westchester? Well, 4-6 weeks have passed an I've basically given up. That said, I'm about ready to give up on the paper too. If I wanted to read AP articles everyday, I'd subscribe to the LA Times. Come on DB... Figure it out and get it right. We deserve better. read more

Horrific customer service and delivery. Despite 6 phone calls speaking with 6 supervisors and floor managers, my elderly mother's daily newspaper continues to be dropped at the top of her steep driveway where she cannot walk to retrieve it without risking a dangerous fall. Each sympathetic supervisor has assured me the newspaper would be delivered to her door, just give them 2 or 3 days to get that arranged. Never happened. Each phone call involved waiting about 10 minutes to actually speak with someone. After a month of complaining they wore me down and I don't call anymore. This paper is not inexpensive. My mother doesn't want cancel because even though sometimes it is several days before someone brings the paper down to her it has the local news. We have assured them there is sufficient turn around space for a large truck at the bottom of her driveway but the driver does not ever deliver the paper to her front door. Daily Breeze pulled a bait-and-switch on me and a friend. The paper dangled the "carrot" of a $10 Target Gift Card reward for new subscribers who sign up for its automatic payment plan. The card was supposed to have arrived in 6-8 weeks. It's been 5 months, and still no card. I've called the Daily Breeze on 3 documented occasions and at least 3-4 other times. D.B. reps always promised the gift card would be mailed either "right away" or "soon" or similar time frames. At times they were even rude. It's not the $10 gift card itself. It's the fact that they would use this as incentive to gain subscribers, then not keep their end of the bargain. . I see this as fraud and/or false advertising, you, and I'm going to treat it as such. Of course I've also cancelled my subscription. I always liked the Breeze, and have subscribed in the past even without promise of a payoff. But I won't tolerate being lied to and misled. read more

I've been a Daily Breeze subscriber for many, many years. Has anyone been having problems with their Daily Breeze newspaper deliveries? I just called for the fourth time to complain about my deliveries. The person consistently throws it under my car in the driveway. It's the only car in a 3-car driveway. I just cancelled my subscription. After multiple complaints including a wet paper from the other day and their broken promise of a redelivery of a dry paper was the last straw. While I believe their customer service is attentive but the delivery person is contracted out and doesn't appear to have any concerns about escalations. The future of the newspaper industry is bleak anyway so this doesn't help. Online is the way to go. read more

The Breeze is a good paper going downhill fast. The new owner, Dean Singleton, has cut the quality and quantity of the content drastically. Some of the writers seem to be writing at the level of an untalented high schooler. Most of the decent syndicated writers are gone. I suspect any writer still there is sending out resumes. Soon, anyone with any chances of alternate employment will be gone. If I could give zero stars I would. Sales people have been begging us to take the paper again. I asked my wife not to take the Breeze again, but the fast talker convinced her to try again. It took almost a month to start and a week to cancel it again.( big surprise bad delivery service or no paper at all). Just a case you think I have it out for the Breeze, my mother-in-law also got called at her home. She also got the fast talking sales person, who also convinced her to take the paper again. Guess what that was October 2014, and she hasn't received (1) paper yet !!!!!!!!!!!! You know what did arrive a bill for around $40.00 today December 19, 2014. They said that they did not believe it and told us to fax them proof of the error. The Daily breeze was a decent newspaper at one time, even with it's day old front page news. These low lives have been billing my mom $9.50 monthly over the past 6 months and she has never received a single paper. She signed up for the service outside of the Ralph's on Woodman Ave and Sherman Way here in Van Nuys. She has called numerous times to get an explanation behind this but is unable to reach anybody, as have I. She went to the Ralph's and confronted the delivery man who informed her that he was instructed not to deliver any newspaper to us. We had to call the credit card company and they were able to determine that these people had committed credit card fraud as evidenced by the amounts charged on her card and the non-existent service. She disputed the costs and is being reimbursed. Daily Breeze, you are utter scum. read more

I thought I was the only one suffering at the hands of the Daily Breeze's poor delivery service and even worse Customer service. Three months of spotting delivery service over the summer and placed on hold indefinitely when I tried to resolve with DB Customer service. My god how can they be this awful with such a declining business model. I was forced to cancel the service but get this... then the paper started coming regularly even tho I canceled. I had to contact my credit card company and cancel the autopay and dispute the charges. But Amex rocks... got three month's of DB service credited back... of course now the DB is billing me for $180... LOL. I called to dispute and got placed on hold or course.... One of the DB staff gave me an email address for the finance department so I am disputing it with them. We'll see what happens. read more
