After a long walk, I needed a chilled glass of wine before hopping on the subway, and Daily Provisions was in the perfect spot. My go to spot for quick snacks, thirst quenchers, and as per the name, provisions. Due to its proximity, it's very convenient for me. Food: I have had a few things including the BEC and the crueller and they've all been quite good! The BEC was nothing crazy but a decent standard. Everything was hot and fresh but I wish it all just had more flavor. I just ended up dousing it in their hot sauce. I also had the seasonal crueller which was so sweet and delicious. Came here twice in one day - breakfast and lunch. For breakfast I got the avocado toast with a fried egg on top and an iced matcha latte. The avocado on top of the sourdough was so good. They added these peppers on top which weren't spicy but still gave it an extra oomph. The matcha latte was really good - just the right amount of matcha and milk where you can actually taste the matcha. I came back a few hours later during lunch time and got the chefy salad. This was so good. The romaine was crisp and fresh. The only thing is that I wish they gave a bit more salad dressing. One container wasn't enough for how large the salad was. I had the Bacon, egg and cheese in a poppy seed roll and I got a cinnamon cruller and a black and white cruller that some of the proceeds from this one goes towards city meals on wheels. I got a decafe Iced latte with regular milk which tastes fine. Nothing soo awesome but not bad. The Staff was very nice. As it is their opening day today it was a little hectic but nothing crazy. I have been waiting for a long time for this location to open. There was only one cashier available on a busy Saturday morning (all of the parents of young children have descended upon this location already). They have about four four person tables for outside. Then some decent seating inside. I stopped in before work, I had a problem ordering online and the manager I assume was super attentive. I placed my order in store and it came pretty quick (5 minutes) I ordered the bec and the maple crueler. The crueler was definitely worth the hype although it was smaller than I thought so I don't think it's worth almost $5 (but I will be suckered into paying the $5 bc I can't resist) The bec left something to be desired, the bacon was super flavorful I wish there was more of it, it came with a house sauce and it was good but kinda lack luster. THE MAPLE CRULLER IS THE TRUTH. Seriously though the maple cruller was absolutely insane that even though we ordered one, when we were walking out we had to get another because it was that perfect. The Bacon egg and cheese sandwich was good. The bacon was really really good and peppery which added a lot of texture to the sandwich. The bread is noticeably nice, but it left me wanting a little more. The wake up sauce is fine but I would stick with the sandwich by itself. The coffee is Joes and it was decent coffee. I've been to the UES side version of Daily Provisions many times since it first opened. The large bowls of fresh salads, sandwiches, roast chicken, and pastries are excellently prepared. I have absolutely no complaints here. Every meal we had was first-class [[HIGHLIGHT]]The main issue with this location is that the owners of this chain completely misjudged its popularity, and almost immediately, diners and computer geeks began to swamp the few tables available, making it very difficult for long-term residents and the elderly to find seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Early on, I recommended that those working at laptops should be precluded from the large tables; however, Daily Provisions is too small (they should have kept the original space by the former Diner, Three Guys) to accommodate everyone. I believe this will detract others from nearby businesses and the hospital, Mount Sinai, from enjoying a good lunch. On top of this seating problem, Daily Provisions does not offer delivery as of this review, which is another ding in their needs. Waiting often in a long line can be a big turn-off and thus has restricted the number of times we have eaten at their UES location. I hope management is reading this review and will act accordingly, though it will be tough to accommodate a new seating arrangements and further traffic to their eatery!! read more

Apparently, they have a rule where you can't be on a device when sitting at a table - understandable so people do not park themselves for hours and hours.... But on a not-so-busy mid morning weekday when the place was only half full, I'm not sure how an iPad for 30 min is any different from someone sitting on their iPhone for an hour and even talking on it! And if a gentleman had been on his phone texting and making phone calls for half an hour - how is that ok vs someone doing a few emails on a small iPad? If that's the expectation and there are 5 servers standing around, then run it like a restaurant! I decided to go to daily provisions to meet my friend and her new baby. When I walked in, the woman working at the front told me it would likely be around 10 minutes for a table to open up. I ordered a coffee and stood waiting for about 20 minutes. A group got up from a table and I watched two women who had just walked in approach it. I walked up to the women/table and told them I had been waiting for about 20 minutes by the front for a table to open up. Instead of apologizing and moving away from the table, the two women (likely Karen's) doubled down and said they didn't believe that I had been waiting. One of them then proceeded to say "calm down crazy eyes." At that point, one of the women working at the restaurant, who recognized me, approached and I asked her to validate that I have been waiting, which she did not. The two women patrons finally moved from the table. I then witnessed employees making nice with the two women, even apologizing when one of the women complained that her cookie was too hard. These women were clearly completely out of line and the employees did nothing to ensure I too was given good customer service.
