Made a spontaneous visit to the city and one of my friends recommended this place. Super cute and cozy, intimate setting, pop music with an indie feel. There were plenty of drink options. I ordered the Daiquiri which was pretty strong and good! Service was great, staff super friendly and accommodating to my party of 10.

I am a huge fan of this place. I've been here a handful of times and always get something new. Each cocktail is so brilliantly crafted, food is amazing, I love a place that has food offered late. You can tell everyone on staff enjoys being there, and cares about the customer's experience. Great vibe, great music playing at all times but you're still able to chill and have a conversation!!

This is what I expect to see when I walk into a 70's themed bar. The conversation pit style bar was so amazing and I absolutely loved the old school decor. Don't even get me started on the drinks, everything was well made, I absolutely loved the Black Magic and the Toque, such gorgeous drinks that tasted even better. The real star of the show here is the food, we ordered a bunch of different dishes to sample and everything was super well thought out and delicious. I really enjoyed the Whipped Feta with the warm pretzel bites and the Blackened Shrimp, another honorable mention to the Chicky Thicky chicken skewers and the Lump Crab tostadas. Everything was perfect! I will definitely be coming back for the food, drinks and the vibes. Server was decent, nothing out of the ordinary but she was helpful when we asked questions. I absolutely loved it here! Highly recommend for some groovy downtown vibes, uptown ;)

What an experience this was, so unexpected and so memorable. While we did have a good time and really enjoyed the feel of this place our bill left a bitter taste. I realized the following day that things didn't add up. My fault for not requesting a copy of my receipt. I still want to go back but this time I'll keep an eye and count our drinks.

The service was amazing. The drinks and food were 10/10. A cute late-night dinner date spot. I highly recommend it!!!

Naomi was so kind and accommodating in getting us a spot inside. The atmosphere is 70's 70's 70s and it did not disappoint. Music setting the mood with vintage throughout. This place is like a time capsule with amazing service. Stop by, you will not regret it!

I finally came here after wanting to check it out for years. I wasn't disappointed. Laurita was our server and she was so nice! My friend and I each had a drink and split the deviled eggs, queso dip and vegan sliders. Food was on point! Drinks were good - I had the tropic thunder and my friend had the Monk Fashioned. They have happy hour every day 4pm-6pm with $11 classic cocktails too. There's several drinks here I'd like to come back and try. The decor is so pretty and 70s vibe. This place was chill and not pretentious. It's a cool neighborhood spot. We had a reservation just in case but it wasn't busy at 4:30pm on a Sunday. I imagine Fridays and Saturdays this place gets packed. Looking forward to coming back! Not accessible from what I can see (staircase needed as the bar is on the lower level of the building).

Excellent service from the doorman to our server. Immaculate vibes. Good happy hour prices on Thursday night. Delicious food. My Caesar salad surprised me with how tasty it was. The portion was huge. The DJ spinning R&B B-sides had our heart.

Cute neighborhood spot with low lights that set the mood for a date night. The bartenders were super nice and the drinks were great. Overall had a great time and will be back.

The sunken bar got me at first sight! Very dim lit and intimate with just enough space.. Loved the ambiance, music selection was on point. Decor is popping! It just felt really cozy and regal. Small bites and strong drinks! My bartender definitely hooked up the concoctions, the creativity is refreshing! Service was pretty good. It's become one of my best spots for cocktails! I would definitely recommend.

Absolutely LOVED my experience here!! We stumbled into this place instead of going next door, and have no regrets. The interior like other reviews mention is like a 70s retro vibe, but if you walk through to the back it opens up to a really cute, bright patio. A great place for both drinks and food - I got a daquiri which came strong and really limey ($11 happy hour!), and got a whipped feta pretzel. That whipped feta dip was probably the best dip I've ever had! The pretzel was warm, soft, chewy and a little dense but paired perfectly with the cheese. Our waiter was so so nice and attentive. Would 100% come back!

We jumped over to the bar right beside and drank some girly drinks before getting the notification our table was ready. As with nearly every establishment in NYC, it is very close quarters in paradise lost. We stood at a table while waiting for seats at the bar to become available. Which, we didn't mind. I could see how this might be a little harder to get a seat for a bigger group if you aren't there before 6. It seemed that once a group got a big table, they camped out. The drinks were strong and creative. Friendly bartenders, good music, and yummy options for bar snacks. Also, the bathroom is a nice touch. Given the hell theming for the bar, the bathroom is a 180 and while using the Lou, you can listen to the bible being recited. Theres also a spooky surprise if you press the button in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it is at the bottom of some decently narrow stairs. So, try and stay sober enough for stairs or you may fall. Go to this bar. You will have fun.

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. Paradise Lost accepts groups of 8 or less, unless you are requesting to book the space for a private event. Ages 21+ paradiselost.nyc @paradiselostnyc Paradise Lost is open everyday - 5pm-2am.
