Good park the fishing is not that good I think it's over fished good to walk and swim.

Came here for 4 days and it wasn't long enough. Nothing bad at all to say about this SP. From the min you turn off the highway into the entrance you have that true SP nature feeling. Its just beautiful all the greenery. We stayed in Big Pine and loved it. We were able to ride bikes around the other loop and walk the nature trail to the swimming area. Plenty of space to spread out even with the day users. The store is on the small side but has all you would need. The park hosts are wonderful too. This park had the cleanest public restrooms I have ever seen! Props to those couples who go above and beyond. Seriously....there weren't even spider webs on the outside. We will be back as soon as possible! Also, visit the Mount Pleasant area. They have good restaurants and yummy desserts! read more

I visited this park while camping down the road at Lake Bob Sandlin State Park. I was only able to stay for a short time but was really impressed. First of all, the staff I encountered was extremely helpful - beginning with the young lady that checked me into the park and continuing to the Park Hosts who took time to share some information about the park. Then there's the park itself. IMO this might be one of the most beautiful state parks in Texas. The view from the pavilion looking onto the small lake is stunning. The lake seems small enough for canoeing, paddle boating and swimming without the intrusion of motor boats and big waves. And picnic tables with grills are ample Being a Depression Era Park it has all the usual charm in spades. And, weather permitting they pull out the jukebox on Saturday evenings and host dances at the pavilion complete with disco ball. But call ahead if you're in a dancin' mood, they're not held year round. My one complaint, being a tent camper, is that the parks seems to cater to RVers and the tent sites I saw seem a little lacking. But that's a small problem since campsites with electricity and available. The park has a well stocked store for souvenirs and the things you forgot. There are also cabins to rent with a window ac unit for those steamy East Texas summer nights. All in all, a fine place to spend a few hours or days in the Piney woods. read more

Such a beautiful state park! We stayed in dogwood loop and loved loved our spot facing the lake with full hookup. The site is spacious and level it is a perfect spot. Easy walk to the very clean and very nice bathrooms, the showers are great! We will definitely be back! read more

We were anxious to get there since we started our trip at 7 pm and would not get there until 10 pm. We could only see that the park had very tall trees. The camp site had a pre marked area for your tent. We stayed in the camp site with electricity and water set up. The following morning we were mesmerized with the scenic views and grounds. The lake is large and beautiful. This agents were all friendly. We plan on coming back in summer to take advantage of the water activities. read more

We stayed here this weekend and really had a great time. We loved the three bedroom cabin (cabin 1) and it was super affordable for all of the space. For $95 a night it seemed like a steal and it was easily spit with two couples. The bathroom was HUGE and in two of the rooms, there was plenty of room for an air mattress next to the double bed. In the kitchen, there was lots of cupboard space and a modern flat top stovetop. There was not an oven, but there was a fire pit and a grill outside. The cabin was supplied with bathroom towels and washcloths and bedding. There is also a table and chairs and a large refrigerator and freezer. However, you have to bring all your kitchen supplies (silverware, plates, etc). The lake was beautiful and it was the perfect weekend for canoeing. You can rent a canoe, kayak or paddleboat for $15.99 for an hour. That was plenty of time. Being two hours from Dallas, we will be back! This was a wonderful weekend of rest and retreat. read more

One of the best state parks in Texas! I am not sure why there are no reviews for Daingerfield State Park, it's a jewel in the Texas State Park system. My wife and I have been RVing and camping at Daingerfield State Park for decades now. By far, it is our favorite state park in the Texas State Park system. It's not huge park, only around 600 acres with an 80 acre spring fed lake. A few years back the park was closed for almost a year for major renovation/face lift. We were very worried the "beauty" of the park was going to change but it didn't. They only improved it! New bathhouses, three of them, were added. The old ones were torn down. A new park store was added down by the lake. The park also has a beautiful new front access gate. Most importantly, all sites in the park are now full hookups, water, electricity and sewer! During the renovation, the old roads and sites pads were taken out and new asphalt was laid down. You're not a camper or an RVer? Daingerfield's got you covered. There are two small cabins, one large cabin and even a lodge with two wings! The cabins were remodeled a few years back and very afforadable. What to do in the park? You have hiking, fishing, canoeing and paddle boats. Daingerfield also has a wonderful swimming area. Watch out for the "cold pockets" since the lake is spring fed. I booked my campsite at Daingerfield State Park a few months ago because this is a spot in Texas to see the leaves changing colors. It's hard to predict though when this will happen. The end of October was too early this year as more colors will probably show in I'd say 2 1/2 weeks. It was a pretty place and very well maintained, including the restrooms and showers. It felt like a great place for a church camp. I enjoyed camping here and liked the hikes too. read more

It's a nice park. Very pretty. I like the swimming and paddle boats. Hiking is pretty easy. Christmas is amazing!

Park was beautiful! Unfortunately, they failed to mention on their main website and Facebook that kayaks were not operating. Drove 5 hours to visit this park and the only thing we could do is hike the 2 trails. Pretty disappointed won't be returning. read more

Our family is on a road trip and we stopped at Daingerfield State ParK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDSm54g06dU ... That is the video that we created of our time there. There are so many things to do at this Texas state park. We started by getting on our swimsuits and getting in the lake. The water was very warm (like bathtub water) and it felt great after being in the car for hours. There is a swimming platform out in the middle of the lake that you can dive off of and have fun on. You can also see a lot of the fish in the water. I stuck my GoPro in the water and did a neat time lapse shot of them. After swimming, we went to the General Store and everyone in the family got a popsicle. It was a hot July day for us. After finishing our popsicles, which to my surprise were very inexpensive, we went to the car to put on some bug spray. We sprayed ourselves down and we went for a hike. There is a hiking trail that goes around the lake. We hiked until our kids got tired and then we turned around. It was cool to see how they burn the area to help with the ecosystem. We really had a great time at this state park, and I would go back again if we were ever in the area. There is so much more to do there. You can also rent different kinds of water boats and go out on the water. I would love to do that next time. read more

We have been to Daingerfield state park multiples times. We live very close to this park. It is always wonderful, the trails are well marked. Bathrooms are clean. Staff is very friendly. They host different family events through the year. Areas that need more attention: the fishing dock is coverd in duck/geese poop- they need to clean this area more often. Buy a Texas parks season pass for $75 for your family saves you lots of money. Otherwise it will cost you $4 per person to enter the park. If you are camping I believe it's free. read more

I went primitive camping for my very first time here a few weekends ago. My girlfriend is an avid camper and had nothing but wonderful things to say about the facilities at Daingerfield State Park. The bathrooms and showers were super clean, our fire pit had been cleaned out AND raked, there was zero trash anywhere. Honestly, this was the cleanest, cutest place. The smell of pine was an absolute bonus to the already fresh air. The swimming hole was a bit crowded but not overwhelmingly so. That is a bit to be expected on a weekend though. The only downside was the noise of the highway at night when everything is still and quiet. The campsites themselves are a bit close to one another. You can definitely hear your neighbors talking, among other things. Be prepared to hear plenty of woodpeckers doing their woodpecker thing on the trees. I should mention the general store. They have your basic needs from soda to Band-Aids to swimming floaties, ice, and firewood (purchased at gate entrance for a 'donation fee' of .50 per stick). Overall, Daingerfield State Park was a wonderful experience and I would definitely return. P.S. rent a kayak and paddle around the lake! read more
