    Root Beer Slushie
    Steve A.

Dairy Barn is the best ice cream in Greenville. It's cheap. They're fast. It has a lot of flavors and concoctions. There's a nice area to sit and eat. It looks like many small town ice cream places, with a big window that you order at. It also has a drive thru if you're in a hurry. This doesn't mean it will be quicker. It's about the same if you order at the window instead. They have the typical kinds of things. Something interesting is the variety of slushies they have. They have a root beer slushie. It's a pretty unusual flavor. This is about $1.80 for the medium size. It's like a very cold root beer. This is refreshing when it's hot outside. It has some tables in the back. It's nice. The trees give you lots of shade.

    Yay! Ice cream!

Lots of people stand in line here for good ice cream treats. The ice cream is good but not great. But hey, it's ice cream, so stop complaining. Check out the nice seating area and picnic tables behind the shop. Lots of room to spread out and host gatherings of friends and family. Overall, worth a stop if you are craving cold treats.

I was touring on the "SKINNY Roads," from Dayton, Ohio, to Muncie, IN, & spotted this "JEWELL." When I asked about the "dogs," the very sweet young lady suggested the "CONEY." I am not a big fan of "wieners," but I had to try it. I must say, their small "CONEY DOG" was EXCELLENT. I almost went back for another, but opted for a cup SOFT SERVE chocolate. The frozen treat choice was a tough one, as they have large selection of "HARD Ice Cream" flavored. You can "bet your bottom dollar" that I'll be passing thru GREENVILLE, Ohio, just to stop at the "DAIRY BARN."

Small, friendly, excellent ice cream and food. Exactly what you expect from a place like this. They are closed from October till February.

Though they don't have indoor seating, they do have a nice area behind the restaurant that has picnic tables and plenty of shade.

Four days ago someone named D C gave this place a one star review and their argument was "I don't…read moreget it." Not understanding something's appeal does not warrant a one star rating. I just drove all the way down here from Michigan because my wife grew up in Iowa and has been craving them for a very long time. This was our first time to try one outside of Iowa but it was very much worth the drive if for no reason other than seeing her smile. Is it the same as what she grew up with? No. Was it good? We each got two sandwiches and after finishing we got right back in line for the drive thru and each got two more. And Maid-Rite meant literally nothing to me before we got here but we are already talking about coming back again. Why? Because it was good! But my wife would say that people who love this location should go visit an Iowa location because they're just as famous for their onion rings and fries as their sandwiches.

I've been going to Maid Rite since I was a kid in the 60's. There is nothing better than a sack…read morefull of Maid Rite sandwiches. With that said, I've found the the quality that I've been used to expect is hit or miss. The biggest issue is that the sandwich meat can be dry requiring a drink to get it down. I also found the sweetness that you always got is not what it used to be. Before the business was sold several years ago, you always had the same employees that had this down to a science. Now I find that there is a turnover of help and it appears that the original recipe has lost its consistent flavor.

We eat here fairly often. Good food and always a nice selection of beer…read more (Glad that they always have Guinness on the tap wall). It is a place that has improved and gotten better over time, and that shows management that cares. The ONLY suggestion we would have is less IPAs and more good lagers on wall: Wiehestenphaner, Shiner Bock, Modelo Especial, Peroni, Spaten, Hofbrau Dunkle just to name a few.

I have eaten all over the world and this place is in my top 10 worst places EVER. The concept is…read morehorrendous...seat yourself, order form a QR code, get your own drinks and food when it's ready. Need silverware and napkins, get those yourself too. My wife's fish sandwich that was supposed to come with home made tartar...haha, not unless they made the tartar and injected it into a packet that says "Tartar Sauce". And let's not forget the 2 half slices of American cheese product barely melted on top. Top that off with barely cooked fries. My BLT wrap was lots of lettuce, a little tomato and bacon bits of dust...not a slice or 2, just crumbles that fall out as soon as you move the wrap. The onion rings were house made and tasted ok. Oh, and when you go to check out, the first tip box preselected is 20%...what a joke, 20% and I did all the work, except the cooking but that I'm sure will be coming soon. The place has a nice bar with nobody working it. C'mon people, get off your a$$es and man the bar, get some servers and take care of the customers, instead of them taking care of themselves. I will not be back and do not recommend.
