Driving back from eminence Missouri, we drove past this true "hole in the wall" diner. Obviously a local diner with roots to the community, with church letting out, a popular spot for a good lunch. A wall dedicated to their awards for Arkansas Food Hall of Fame plaques and cute decor around you keeps you busy as you wait. We did have to wait for about 15 mins for a menu and once we ordered it took about 20 mins to get our order. With the amount of people there, not bad. They looked busy and the staff was attentive. The menu was fairly basic but what they do offer is fresh and cooked to order. I ordered the catfish with loaded potato and pickled tomato. My wife ordered the Philly steak. This was a great stop for us. We had catfish po boys, Reuben sandwich , double cheeseburger, hush puppies mushrooms and fries. Plus dipped ice cream cones. Food was great. Parking lot was full at 5 pm on friday night. The staff was friendly. We would stop here again if traveling. Stopped by here while on a day trip- one of our group had heard from others that it was great! We each ordered a milkshake or malt at the outside window and then burgers and fries or house made chips. The milkshakes and malts were ready in a very short time and we started enjoying them while we waited for our order. After quite a wait I went up and asked and the food was ready and sitting there- we gathered it and ate on the road. I always heard how great this place was and I have been driving by several days a week on my commute to work, so I called and placed an order to go. I had been told the burgers were fantastic so I ordered a burger and fries and a chicken strip dinner. I also ordered a chocolate dipped cone for the ride home. The staff was friendly enough when I picked up my order-no complaints there. I started in on my dipped cone when I got in my car and I was very impressed (at first). The ice cream was smooth and rich and the chocolate shell was perfectly crisp. When I got down to the actual cone everything went downhill. The cone was so stale it was actually chewy. I tossed it out the window. I got home and I was ready to dig into my burger and fries. Well, the fries were absolutely not done. Mushy outside and hard in the middle. I had to heat up some oil and recook them. The burger was not a fresh patty-it had scalloped edges which immediately let me know it was a frozen pre made patty. Not good. I ate maybe two bites. While staying at Lake Charles State Park, we visited Dairy King three times. Had Catfish dinner and burgers. Excellent. We had the same server each time (Bella). Bella was very nice and continually checked our status. Would recommend Dairy King if in the area! Only negative...needs to have a designated person to bus tables and clean up after guests have left. Had breakfast here for the first time. The ham and eggs were very good. The biscuits and gravy not so much, it was very cold. I sent it back and it came back a little warmer, but not warm enough. Service was very slow. I kept running out of coffee because they never came to top it off. read more

We had driven by this place on our way to Jonesboro several times and we finally were able to stop and try it on a Friday night for dinner. We both had the catfish. The filets were huge! I got fries and my wife got a baked potato. The crinkle cut fries were amazing and the baked potato was really large and cooked well. The pickled tomatoes were wonderful and the hush puppies cooked perfectly. My wife had pinto beans with hers but they were cold. Also served with some slaw and a nice chunk of onion. We also had the fried green tomato appetizer which was outstanding! Overall the food was great and such large portions we had no room for their ice cream for dessert so we will have to come back. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. Teenage girl who didn't pay attention well and did not come back to follow up much. Okay I will admit the reason I stopped here was because of the name. When I passed by this place several times on my travels I always wondered what this place was like. The service here was pretty good the two ladies working behind the counter were nice to me. They did seem a little nervous about talking to me at first. I guess it's because I wasn't one of their usual customers. I mean this restaurant is in a small little town so I'm sure a lot of these people know each other very well. The other patrons were friendly as well. The speed of the service was pretty decent too. The food was great. I had breakfast here. My plate consisted of bacon, eggs, and a biscuit. I will say that place got eggs over medium right so that's saying a lot in my book. I noticed there lunch menu has burgers and catfish which I might try next time I'm in this town. They also serve ice cream here which some of the patrons seemed to enjoy. I had wondered what the place was like on the inside. My husband and I pass this place every time we travel through Arkansas and decided to stop and give it a try. So glad we did! This place appeared to be family owned judging on all the sweet family photos hung around the restaurant and is run by several young adults that were on their game. The restaurant was continuously hopping by either customers dining in, calling in orders to pick up or walking up to the window to get a ice cream cone. Husband and I both ordered a double bacon cheeseburger with either season fries or onion rings. We both agreed that was the Best Burger we've had in a long time being obvious that the meat was fresh ground beef and not frozen. The onion rings/ season fries were crispy yumminess. Our meal including two fried pies and Humongous sweet teas totaled out to $26.08. Well worth the stop and we will be back. read more

We stopped here for lunch on our way back from Memphis. Let's just say the food is really good but the service is half assed and slow. I got a double cheeseburger with tater tots and my boyfriend had the same with seasoned fries. We never got the coffee we ordered and they never offered refills on our drinks. We basically never saw the waitress after we received our food. The prices are good and low, but they ran out of the lunch special (meatloaf, mashed potatoes, etc) about an hour into the lunch rush on a Sunday. The food here is okay. The service is terrible. I've been twice. The first time we were ignored by the waitress after telling her we needed a few minutes to decide. Those few minutes turned into 20 plus. The food is your generic fried catfish, french fries and burgers. This is northeast Arkansas, nothing fancy here. Everything tasted fine- nothing special but fine. I just don't understand why when I order a "sundae", nuts and cherry cost extra. A sundae is not topping on ice cream. I think this place gets the traffic it does because of location and lack of other restaurants. This is the place we visit every time we come to Arkansas. They have the best catfish served anywhere, period. I don't mean the best in Arkansas, I mean literally ANYWHERE. Yes, the name is unusual, and it looks like a typical diner you would find in any small town...but the food is outstanding. If you aren't into catfish (and in that case I feel sorry for you) their old fashioned diner burgers are spot-on as well. Where do I begin with this dump!? Absolutely DO NOT EAT THERE! Probably one of the WORST restaurant experiences we have ever had! We had 5 people in our party. One person in our party never even got their food. Those of us who did get our food, it was cold. Asked for silverware and was rudely told by JESSICA, "well too bad" how am I supposed to eat without silverware!? After touching the nasty table we sat at, I sure was not using my hands to eat. Asked for refills 4 times! NEVER got a refill! We watched 3 couples get up and walk out because they could not get waited on.
