This was an interesting place. It seemed pretty dingy but the food was tasty. I ended up getting a cheesewheel just to try one. It is a cheeseburger patty, breaded and deep-fried. Despite feeling my arteries clog up as I ate it, it was surprisingly good. And the other coach with me ordered one as well and also commented on how good it actually was despite how terrible it sounded. I ordered a chubby chuck for myself and a regular cheeseburger for my fiancé. Food came out, and he had a cheeseburger and I somehow ended up with a cheese wheel which is cheaper than what I had ordered and paid for. It was my first time being there so I didn't want to immediately complain because my fiancé loved it there since he was younger. Food was great...service was VERY poor. I love the cheesewheels sold here...I've been eating them here since I was a kid. However...the service and the kids that work here are horrible. I do not understand how this places stays open with such horrible staff. I've not had a pleasant experience here in many years. Just this last time I went...they had a radio on playing some rap music...and that's fine and all...except it was so loud that me and my mom literally had to shout to hear each other. My mom had to get up and ask for them to turn it down. My mom LOVES the curly fries at this place. She's not a huge french fry fan, but does enjoy the curly fries here. So she ordered a large order of them. When we got our food, they had given her regular fries. She asked about it, and they smugly told her they were out of curly fries. Why they couldn't have told her BEFORE making her pay their premium price for their less than premium regular fries is beyond me. And finally...the workers were all young teens...and they had some friends over at the store, and they were laughing and having a good time...except something happened because all the sudden a couple of the boys erupted in yelling and shouting...with TONS of profanity thrown around. Me and my mom were sure a physical fight was about to erupt just behind us. Not a pleasant experience when you're just wanting to sit down and enjoy a good meal. So yeah. I discovered Dairy Land when I first visited Lander from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. I've been there three times while in Lander camping the mountains. The Triple Chubby is the highlight of my trip to the town of Lander. It's delicious, I like the atmosphere, and the staff has been friendly every time. We went up to the drive up. Half of the order screens were out of order which you could not tell until you drove right up to the screen. I watched multiple cars drive around and around frustrated because there was not a screen to order at. We ordered one hamburger wheel and one malt and waited 15 minutes until I finally went inside. There were two girls at the counter and it was very busy. I watched them serve three separate customers that had arrived long after myself. When I complained to the employee saffron she ignored me at first and then rolled her eyes and said we're really busy. I explain to her we had been there for 15 minutes and she had served other customers that had arrived before me she continue to ignore me and roll her eyes. I asked what her name was and and she ignored me again and refuse to answer. The employee working with her was a very nice girl and dealt with me in an efficient and calm manner. She finally told me what saffron's name was. If this was my business I not only would fire saffron but I would never let her into the restaurant again. If indoor customers are going to be served before outdoor customers there should be a sign. Also it should be more clear which screens are out of order so you don't have to drive around like an idiot. The food was adequate but my chocolate malt tasted like a McDonald's chocolate milkshake which means a vanilla milkshake I couldn't taste any malt in it at all.
