I've been going to this Dairy Queen for several years now since I moved to the area. They have always provided good service, but a couple of days ago the manager went above and beyond to make my day. I had a special order I wasn't sure he'd be able to fill, but he did and it was awesome. Unfortunately their lobby/restaurant is still closed due to COVID protocols so I haven't been able to take the family in to eat for a while, but takeout has remained open and we'll be hitting this DQ up for years to come, lobby or not! read more

What's not to like? This place is typically clean and friendly (when the dining area is open). Food is decent, as to be expected. The prices have definitely gone up over the years -- but you can get meals for a family of four for under $30 still though, so not too bad! I'll certainly eat here again some time! read more

Last minute decision to grab a birthday cake. Apparently they were closed but I opened the door and was greeted by a guy who was awesome. He said, oh, hey, we're closed. He could tell by the look on my face I was surprised and kind of desperate. Then, he said, well, come on in... what are you looking for? (!!) I grabbed an ice cream cake from the freezer and thought I would just pay for it. No. He asked me if I wanted him to write anything on the cake. Sure, of course! I went for free cone day and the workers and manager were already in a bad mood before I got there. They ran out of cones (even though I had just called to verify they were indeed having free cone day) and offered no remedy for 3 disappointed kids in front of them. I had to ask twice (nicely, I might add) if they would offer a discount on a bigger cone and finally got, sure I'll take $1 off. With all the attitude, I said I'd rather take my business elsewhere. 1 star for the idiot that took my ice cream cake order over the phone and then failed to proceed to check the schedule and make sure someone would be there to make it the morning of. 4-5 stars for the manager/supervisor on duty when I showed up. I believe his name was Chris. Yes, I placed an order for 2 ice cream cakes. I only had about 24 notice for them, but they assured me that as long as it was a "normal" ice cream cake, it wouldn't be a problem. The girl on the phone seemed like your typical DQ employee - some high schooler that doesn't get that whole "work" thing. To make it worse, I'm sure this West County dweller is only being forced to work by her parents. Not knocking West County. Just an observation. I was once a high schooler in WestCo and found myself in the definite minority of those actually working because they wanted to be independent and have their own money. Anyway, I digress. I came in yesterday evening and surprise, surprise. The cakes aren't made. I knew it as soon as the girl I met at the counter went to the back and didn't return, only calling for the supervisor from the back. You have to love how the children working there are afraid to confront customers. I'm sure they'll have really successful careers in the future. Anyway, Chris came to talk to me, completely apologetic, bending over backwards to make what they had pre-made in the freezer and offered me a sizable discount without me even asking. On Father's Day the entire restaurant was packed plus the drive thru was wrapped around the building. The staff was calm and cool and on top of it. When I got to the window my order was wrong so I pulled out of the line and was going to walk in to ask them to fix it. I understand if an order was messed up and I always try to be polite when asking for the correct thing, but when I went to go inside at 9:27 the doors were locked. Most of the reviews are really old, so don't let the low star rating keep you away. This DQ is one of our favorite local ice cream stops. I'll use my review to comment on some of the previous reviewers' complaints. I'll be honest. I've never actually ordered food from here. To me, DQ is just an ice cream place, but a delicious one. Therefore, I cannot comment on quality of food or ability to fulfill food orders correctly. I've stopped in a handful of times and I've always found the dining room to be clean. I've gone through the drive thru once and it was a pleasant experience. Wait wasn't too long and the order was correct. Yes, many of the employees are teens, but I think that is a really great thing. Kudos to DQ for offering employment to many teens in the area. And I've always had positive interactions with the cashiers and those completing our order. Came to this DQ on a particularly lazy Saturday night, after visiting with the boyfriend's parents in Wildwood. All DQs are about the same, and my blizzard was yum - but the place in general was kinda weird. I'm pretty sure we witnessed an awkward exchange of words between who I assumed to be a manager, and one of his awkward teenage girl workers. Not in the back, where we couldn't see them, just kinda hear - but right up front, as we were waiting for our ice cream. The manager seemed a little pissed off in general, and while I can give him some slack, as it was the end of the night, he just rubbed me the wrong way. The air conditioner vents were also dripping water onto the floor - everywhere...from each one - so that was definitely kinda gross, and hard to avoid. Stopped by here on the way home from picking up the kid from camp. Husband had a chocolate malt and kid had a hot fudge milkshake. I worked here 4 years ago and it was literally the most toxic workplace environment- particularly because of Rose. If you are a teenager looking for a job do not work here it's not worth it. I'm writing this review today because my friend and I decided to get some ice cream and ran into Rose. We asked for a chocolate ice cream sundae and were instead given vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce. When we politely asked for them to remake it, Rose berated us over the intercom about how we should've specified chocolate ice cream. I was prepared to give her the wrongly made cup back but at the window she held out her hand with an annoyed look on her face like we were trying to pull a fast one. The place is very dirty as shown in the picture. There was a roach crawling up the wall. My son's Fudge Stuffed Cookie was served burnt and they intentionally tried to cover it up with fudge. Ok I get it that ice cream drive through is essential biz during a stay home order with covid-19. Ordered box of dilly bars & sundae, drive up to window and there's 3 teens working in drive thru "box". They are maybe 12" apart. I asked the young lady why they aren't maintaining social distancing? She laughed at me and said. " its pretty hard to do here". I kindly replied that unless we minimize spreading we will not contain the virus and it's you're responsibility to make an effort! There are so many reasons to take this seriously, please address this with ALL "essential" employees, follow up and check that they're practicing social distancing and changing gloves after handling $ etc or this will go on a lot longer and a lot more people will get sick & many will die. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience tonight with a rude employee at this location. As a nearby ice cream restaurant was closed and I had been coming here for awhile I decided to give this DQ my business when my sick partner wanted a shake and I ordered cheese curds for myself. When I got to the window, and after I paid and was handed two bags, I waited for a moment. The employee whose name I didn't catch (looked younger with light strawberry/blondish hair in a ponytail) opened the window after a moment and said coldly with a hint of annoyance, "You have everything". I was a little put off by her attitude as I come here occasionally but not enough to always remember that shakes come in the bag. "Oh, so the shake is in here", to which she replied in a very catty tone, "It's a *Blizzard*". Actually, that wasn't even the main point of why I waited; I had also wanted to ask for more ranch sauce for my food. At that point, in shock that she could be so condescending and unprofessional, for a fairly common scenario which usually is met with a nice, "Is there something else you need?" to the customer, I drove away.
