After seeing a box of something on the pass wind 15 minutes after ordered after they served three numbers past our order? They checked and it was our order. We stopped on a road trip yesterday. We have been to this location many times over the years. They were busy when we arrived. When we got to order, they were out of a lot of things. I ordered a burger that was probably the worst I've ever had and made me wishing we had gone across the highway to McDonalds. It was ice cold, the bun was hard, and the burger was gray and tasted like...I don't even know how to describe it. I threw it out. Fries were ok. My mom's chicken was gross. The kitchen area was absolutely disgusting with stuff thrown everywhere. The floor all over the restaurant had trash thrown...not surprising given the fact that all of the trash was beyond overflowing. Even once the crowd left, the workers just stood around rather than emptying trash. Surprisingly the bathroom was the cleanest part of the whole restaurant (though the trash was full in there too). Stopped for blizzards on a road trip. I ordered cheesecake pieces plus cookie dough pieces, and they charged me for one extra topping (like they're supposed to). However, once we were back on the interstate eating our treats, I realized they never put the cheesecake pieces in at all. Missed my favorite part! My husband got a Snickers blizzard, and they hardly put any of his single topping in. Holy smoke - what a mess. My coworker asked me to stop somewhere for a fish sandwich for Lent. I worked at a Dairy Queen in high school and remembered they had a fish sandwich. I saw they also had dairy/free Dilly Bars. So I ordered the sandwich and a dairy-free Dilly Bar. I was told no one knew how to make that Dilly. I'm 90% sure those are pre-made, not made in store, but whatever. After a 15min wait, I secured the sandwich from a cashier with ice cream cakes all over the hands, apron and nails while handling cash. I looked in the window and saw overflowing trash cans in the ice cream machine area. Super gross. My friend opened her sandwich to find it was still icy and covered in cheese and tartar sauce. We will NEVER be back. Traveling highway and wanted a smoothie. Decided DQ was closest thing. First, management needs to be trained properly to then train employees properly. There were too many chiefs who were absolutely clueless. Arrived inside because drive thru line was way too long. NO ONE came to the register for a good ten minutes but saw five employees "working". One girl moved at a snails pace cleaning dining area and finally came to wait on us then went back into dining room. One girl bossing everyone around but never waited on anyone. Said she was checking out, then came back and took order in front of us, then went in the back to make a cake. Wandered for the next twenty minutes doing nothing but being annoying and interrupting other employees. Never waited on anyone else. Drive thru window pair were only ones working but barely competent. Apparently only drive thru line gets serviced. Then three owner/managers apparently on site did absolutely nothing to help or manage. One was on his cell phone THE WHOLE TIME in the back pacing. The next one was on his cell also but tried to help an employee open a can of pineapple sauce for over 20 minutes and never succeeded. Meanwhile family of 7 waited for their banana splits for at least a half hour. At least seven cars served but they still didn't have their treats before we left. All because no one knew how to open a can. No, scissors won't do it. Looking around, I don't think they had cleaned any of the work space all day. Sauces spewed out and over all over the counter, drying but never cleaned. I do not know how they stay in business without health inspectors closing them down. Do NOT stop here! My husband, myself, and two of our friends came in and there was no one else in the restaurant. We placed our orders and our friends got their orders in a decent amount of time. My husband and I had two chicken tender baskets so I assumed that maybe it was just taking a bit longer. Then the restaurant started to get busier and people started placing their orders and everyone else started to get their orders even though we had been there at least a good 10 minutes before everyone else, including a family of FOUR. I went up to the counter to check on our order and was purposely ignored by the staff. They all pretended to be so busy that they didn't notice me, so I had my husband come in and get their attention. It took so long that our friends finished their meals and we were ready to get back on the road so we asked for a refund. The cashier scoffed at us and was completely dismissive and rude. While I don't want to pull the race card, we were the only brown people in there, our friends are not and got their food quickly - so it's pretty obvious what was going on. My family and I stopped here on our way back to Iowa. We were not impressed at all. We waited with all the other people for at least 30 minutes. Apparently, your store had to wait for a food delivery truck to fix our meals. My 5 stars are for the one young man working the drive thru on Sunday December 30th about 1pm, not for the restaurant as a whole. The place itself was busy, yet the 3-4 girls working inside didn't seem to know where they were or why. The gentleman working drive thru was doing his best to run that as well as having to walk away to take care of the counter area, since nobody else seemed to know how; even when he was directing them to do so. There was not a clean table in the entire restaurant and by not clean I mean every one of them had junk on it and food particles . 15 minutes after we ordered our chicken strips and hamburger and two Blizzard's they brought us the two small blizzards which would have been nice to have after the meal.
