It was time for lunch and a break so when he saw the multitude of signage for this place he decided we should stop. It was a cool multi-store. A Dairy Queen, gift store, fireworks store and gas station. I had a chili cheese dog meal with medium fries and a drink. I wanted a small chocolate shake and the server offered to substitute my drink for that which I appreciated. He had a quarter pound cheeseburger meal with cheese curds. The food was average. Not all the cheese was melted on my chili dog and the dog itself tasted like it had been sitting there for a while. The restrooms in the store were not bad considering the amount of traffic it seemed to have. There were lots of cool metal decor and signage in the gift area. And unique items I haven't seen before. American Indian attire, souvenir tshirts, moccasins and other Knick knacks. There was a convenience store for snacks and drinks as well. And three packed shelving units of fireworks. Something for everyone. The service was polite and the store clean. The DQ area could have been cleaner but it appeared as if they couldn't keep up even with the many people working behind the counter. Some customers were angry that the Coke dispenser had no coke syrup mixed in. But for us it was a nice break at an interesting store. read more

Several items were missing from my order, both my bottle of water and ranch dipping sauce. I was all but called a liar at the counter when I asked for the ranch dressing that was included with my chicken strips meal. The employee said the other employee told her it didn't come with my meal, despite it being on the receipt. Upon presenting the receipt, I was told, "you don't have to throw the receipt at me" which I had not. I was eventually given my dipping sauce without any kind of apology at all. Unless you want to be treated poorly, I do not recommend stopping here. Avoid! read more

Better than a lot of Dairy Queen's are these days. Only went for ice cream, so can't speak to the food on the grill. Love DQ!

The many billboards along I-40 hype this place up. Gifts! Dairy Queen! Jewelry! Mexican Imports! Exit 72, Exit 72, Exit 72 -- Bluewater Outpost. It sounded like just the nirvana my bladder had been dreaming about for the last sixty miles. And my girlfriend wanted M&M's. So it seemed like Bluewater Outpost was THE place to go. This rest stop was dingy inside and out, with two employees dealing with about two dozen customers. The lines moved slowly. Meanwhile, the restrooms were blocked off by a carousel clothing rack. I asked one of the clerks if the restrooms were open. "They're closed, bro." "Where would you suggest I go for an available restroom?" I asked. "What you do with your time is your business," he replied. On the way out, I followed some similarly disappointed travelers into the parking lot as they remarked on the rudeness of the clerk in THEIR interaction with him. In my eavesdropping, I gathered an additional piece of data: the restrooms were closed because the water had been turned off. Nice. Luckily, the town of Milan was only one exit away, and the Petro convenience stop was the total inverse of this dump. At Petro, I was welcomed by a friendly greeting, the restrooms were open and spotlessly clean, and the vibes were just all around good. If you're traveling through New Mexico on I-40 and need to stop, give this nasty little pit a pass and wait another mile or two for Milan. You'll spare yourself an unpleasant experience. read more

Well the only reason I gave it a four-star I had to stand in line for 30 minutes they only had two people working at this location at the gas station in New Mexico but what's fun about this place they have fireworks a nice gift shop and if you buy something at Dairy Queen and show the front end your receipt they'll give you 10% off your entire purchase and needles to say you can't go wrong with Dairy Queen they have really good onion rings and really good milkshakes read more

This place is horrible,trash everywhere,nasty bathrooms.Everything in here is way over priced.They wanted almost 4 dollars for a mini plain ice cream cone.It may be just me but I think that is ridiculous.Hubby got a 4 piece chicken tender with large drink and cheese curds,15.98.I wouldn't have bought it myself but I guess he really wanted that chicken.It said 8.99 for combo but apparently up sizing drink is pricey.Will never stop here again. read more

After being brainwashed by 50 or so bright yellow signs, the lure of fireworks and ice cream, you may find yourself stopping here for an I40 break, snack, and/or gas fillup. If you want to stretch, it's a fun shop to walk around and check out all the trinkets ank knickknacks...the kids always find something unique souvenir. Now to DQ: line was long, cashier was amicable but seemed tired and unhappy to be there..after the reviews of 2s, I still chanced the burger..it seemed like I was destined to be different at the time, but ..DONT DO IT! I immediately scolded myself for wasting 5.69 on a burger that didnt taste quite right and after giving half to my doggies, threw the rest. Stick to the ice cream..blizzard was a bit melted, but how can you ruin a blizzard? Ignoring the horrible burger, I rated high at 3 for the quirky stuff we checked out and ice cream that was great on a hot day. read more

This has got to be the worst Dairy Queen I've ever been too. Ordered the chicken strip basket meal; the chicken strips were brown, so over done it dried out the chicken inside, the bread was plain, no butter on it, and the fries were also over fried!!! Bathroom smelled like a sewer and it was right next to the restaurant. The bathroom needs a serious deep clean and provision of paper towels rather than air driers. The overall layout is poorly planned lending to much space to the 'trading post'. This choice over crowds the main draw of the Dairy Queen. Service was marginal, but given the long line , my expectations were extremely low. Food was not made to order. Don't let the fact that this store is inside a DQ sway your opinion. Very nice store with a lot of souvenirs. I purchased a heavy statue and I received excellent customer service from Glynda. The people in the dairy express are super nice and awesome. This is a review for the blonde lady who works behind the merchandise counter. I walked into the bathroom with my daughter who had an accident in her pants and needed to clean her up right away. This woman was looking at the toilet in the stall with the changing table. I asked her if I could use the changing table and she growled at me. Then she huffed off. While I was cleaning up a stressful mess another mom came in and asked about the changing table. the employee last proceeded to tell her that I had kicked her out. I never kicked her out. I had asked politely. The lady is a real jerk. read more
