This is quite possibly the worst Dairy Queen in the city. The order is always wrong and the food is sub par consistently. The staff is also very unprofessional. This is the closest location to where I live and will deliberately drive to another location to avoid going to this one. I am not one to berate, but this location is very, very disappointing. read more

My husband and I have gone here for a quick craving a couple of times, each time more disappointed. The Dairy Queen it's self is dirty and run down, most lights were out, all tables were dirty and the floor and counters were sticky and covered in spills and mess. The service was awful all times, drive through was about 30 minute wait with nobody infront or behind us and service inside both times were poor. First time the lady was snappy and whispering, second time we were served by the manager and he was very disrespectful, Short tempered, and lacked any customer service or decent customer relations. Ordered a hot fudge sundae and need a magnifying glass to see the amount of hot fudge on it! Complained to manager and was told that's 1 pump and they wouldn't give anymore. Will never visit this location again. Other locations have enough that you can taste and see the fudge but I just paid for fudge that I don't have The reply from dq is hilarious. Did you even read my complaint?! My sundae was ice cream with the tiniest amount of hot fudge ever, to add my daughters blizzard had 2 chunks of cookie dough in the entire container. Last time I visited a different location I had hot fudge leftover and she had some bites with 2 chunks of cookie dough and each bite had at least 1 chunk. Douglas dale location is cheap!! read more

We went in to get some sundaes , had coupons from their meal deal.... Which had been purchased at THIS location. The sever was very nice, polite, excellent customer facing employee. But the owner .... Omg she hollered across the front of the counter to not make the sundaes too big, then she comes running over to weigh them. Toppings were also minimal. Just cheese treatment and so blatantly rude. A guy came in to buy a cake and she was rude to him too. Honestly this isn't the first time I've been here and they've been rude. why be I the service industry if you don't like people. I have to say though again, the girl who served us was extremely nice, just the Owner (I'm assuming otherwise why worry about shorting an order.... Just cheap). These franchise owners are CHEEP the soda is watered down and they skimp on anything they can. They dont give you sauce that comes with a meal unless you ask, and sometimes your already gone home before you realize. If you do go here they charge arbitrary extras for sauces etc, oh 10 cents for that etc. I am formally complaining to head office and starting tomorrow I will never return to this location again in my life. read more

DOUGLAS SQUARE DQ: I wish I could give a zero! These people are CHEAP! They are SLOW! and service is rude! They make the treats smaller and with less toppings then any other DQ I've ever been to! This isn't just a one time occurrence either, it's every time I've gone! We try to boycott this DQ but on occasion the in-laws buy us ice cream and it is ALWAYS disappointing from the Douglasdale location. Peanut Buster Parfaits are made by barely getting ice cream above lip of the cup, hot fudge is dribbled on plastic so it looks like lots but really not very much. Blizzards are a game of hide and seek to even try and find mixings! Once I took back my blizzard to the DQ by my house (not Douglasdale) and they couldn't even tell what it was because there was so little toppings mixed in. It just looked like swirled around vanilla ice cream (tasted like it too). Just feel so completely ripped off by them! If you do make the mistake of going here, here is the DQ customer relations line so that you can call in to complain about your bad product/service: 1-866-793-7582 Other Reviews on Google: Do not eat here - we found a melted lighter in our cake! We purchased a birthday ice cream cake. After serving it to a party of people, we started to notice small pieces of melted blue plastic and metal fragments (the metal pieces from a lighter) throughout the ice cream portion of the cake! My friends/family got very sick off of it; it was likely that plastic, metal, and even lighter fluid was ingested. When we confronted the owners/managers about the cake, the couple that run the place were extremely rude and took absolutely no responsibility. Their exact words were, "No one smokes here so it's not our fault." No apology was offered even though they risked the health of about 20 people. I'm assuming that their ice cream machines have not been cleaned out, so be VERY cautious when eating here - I don't want anyone else to get sick! Blizzards were waiting when I pulled up after having 3 other cars in front of me. When I opened them at home they were like soup. Management may want to think about timing of frozed desserts as they were basically garbage! Not going back! I'm guilty of going here constantly as DQ is one of our family favourites. The problem here is the owners are absolutely atrocious. We were in another DQ a week before one of my visits here and were handed all of our blizzards upside down. When I asked she told me that that's how we are supposed to hand them to you or you get it free. They handed me my blizzards right side up here and I was like ... Sweet that means it's free... The owner manager came out and yelled at me and told me (paraphrase here) I was basically an idiot. Seems like the treats are all a little bit smaller here as well. Unfortunately with no DQ alternatives around we will go back but not because of service. read more

We used to visit this DQ regularly for a treat after my daughters gymnastics. Not any more as this store will not honor the sundae coupons that they handed out as part of the $6/meal deal that we paid for! I also agree with other comments about the service and cleanliness of the store but did not feel that this alone was worth commenting on. However things changed when they rejected the coupons that they gave us. I honestly don't believe that the owners/managers of this store care. Hello head office????? read more

I have tried complaining before to Dairy Queen Canada but to no avail. I bought 2 x Mini Blizzards, Strawberry Cheesecake and the one had No Strawberries in and the other half full. Dairy Queen has pretty standardized food so it's hard to complain about the food itself. But the service.... oh dear. It was like they were having a good day until you walked in, and now they're forced to listen to your order and actually work. I have never been treated like I was welcome at this location. Worse, I went there once to get the $6 meal deal burger. I went through the drive-through. When I got home, the burger seemed a bit thin-- there was nothing inside but ketchup and a piece of lettuce. Mistakes get made-- no problem, luckily I live not far from the restaurant. When I took it back, I went inside and showed the staff and explained the issue (not rudely at all) and explained that I drove home and it was not properly prepared. She took it back to the food preparers right behind her and showed them, they all had a brief chuckle, made a new one, and handed it to me without saying a word. Now, that's exactly what I was hoping for, but as a business, it's also good form that if something is your fault, then proper manners says that you should apologize and then make it right. There was no apology, they just took the burger, had a communal laugh, and then said nothing. In total I had gone there about 3-4 times and the only time I had good customer service is when I had a new trainee. In short, I don't think customer service is their top priority, and for that reason I now only go to the DQ in Deerfoot Meadows, they just seem nicer there. read more
