I go to Dairy Queen frequently. Today I was in the drive-through, one car in front of me and it took me 20 minutes to get a blizzard. When I got to the window, there wasn't even anybody standing there waiting. I watch people walk back-and-forth. My order was small and easy to hand out. Why did it take this long? The kid at the window just said "it's busy. I know it's busy." There was no reason for that this wait. I'm at the Dairy Queen at least once a week. I love the Dairy Queen and my blizzards. I just want management to know what happened. read more

Take it all in - Rare Review on night of getting food . Mark the calendar !! Anywho..... Went out with some friends to enjoy some good treats. Only drawback is Lobby does close at 9pm , Drive thru @10pm. Unfortunately on Yelp it doesn't specify that specifically. So FYI . Either way we all did drive thru since we came after 9. We went to do the 85c blizzard deal but it actually only works if doing it thru the mobile app. Was a little bit of a pain not everyone had the app. We decided to order thru app since we had and then go thru drive thru again after we found out . Took a min but was pretty quick . They got busy in the drive thru but moved quickly. We got 3 orders of Chicken strips and 3 blizzards . We were able to get 2 of the blizzards for 85c in the app by placing 2 separate orders so Winning ! Was my first time having the chicken strips and I must say they were really good and tender Got the sauced and tossed honey bbq really tasty. I got with onion rings and they were nice and crunchy perfectly cooked. My box came with 6 strips , 2 pieces of bread buttered and was actually really good and onion rings. I really enjoyed my food I was impressed. For dessert I had the Mint Oreo blizzard and it was tasty as well ate the whole thing becuase I'm greedy . YES! YES! If you need an ice cream, Sunday, or a shake, you need to go to Dairy Queen. Plus right now they you can get 2 Cheeseburgers for $5 or two Double Cheeseburger for $7. Great deal! We stopped at Dairy Queen after the afternoon rush and were pleasantly surprised by what a great experience it was. We went specifically to try the crispy onion burger, which was on special for seven dollars and included a drink, fries, and a small sundae. Our order was taken quickly, and before we knew it, the food came out hot and fresh. At first glance, I did not see many crispy onions on my burger, which was the whole reason we stopped in. Our server immediately brought us more to add. Later, I discovered they were hiding under my extra pickles. Our fries were hot and crispy, just like we like them, and our small sundae was the perfect size to end our meal. The restaurant was clean and the crew was laughing and joking with each other as they cleaned and went up about their job. For a fast food restaurant it was a very pleasant experience and I recommend checking it out. I hope your experience is as good as ours. read more

Quality/Quantity - I am not your typical customer anymore. I rarely eat "fast food" unless I am with others and that is what they chose. But I wanted to support you and you sent me some coupons. So today I came in and got a chocolate (cherry available also) dipped soft serve cone. Sorry, no picture. Atmosphere - Decent size location. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Drive thru is also available. Curbside pick up. Mobile orders, etc. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 10pm (drive thru). The lobby closes 1 hour earlier. Service - The cashier was very professional and patient. The customer in front of me had 4 kids aged 1, 2, 3 and 4. And they were out of control, throwing tantrums, crying, fighting, laying on the floor, etc. I felt bad for the young mother as the kids continued to act out of control... The guys behind me finally said something... Needless to say, this place is kid friendly; great job cashier! Price - Inexpensive, thanks to the coupons. Thank you. Just tried the new Dairy Queen in South Reno. We picked up an order to go. We decided to split the burgers so that we could try two types. Both were small, dry and no lettuce and a tiny slice of tomato. I can get better burgers and several other locations in town. These were nothing special. And the bacon was mostly fat with little meat. I like the location because it is close to the parks and sport fields. It was clean inside and better to go in and pick up than wait in a line of 7 cars. We did not want to go when they first opened because we tried but it was just too busy. Not sure I will order food again here but we will come back and try the deserts that Dairy Queen in known for. We like to splurge with the grandkids and what better time than after a baseball game. Staff was friendly and efficient drive thru went quickly, we got 3 blizzards 2 out of the 3 were amazing the last one was cookie dough and Reese's cup usually great but this time the cookie dough pieces tasted like bananas which I hate, they happily remade it for me but the second time they put Reese's pieces instead of Reese's cups and the cookie dough pieces still tasted like bananas. I didn't want to send my blizzard back again so I just traded with my son who doesn't mind bananas but I was really looking forward to mine.... Sooo my only tip to the manager is if the cookie dough is stored next to the bananas maybe move them to a different spot so the bananas don't over take the flavor?... otherwise great experience. read more

Went through the drive through. $15 bill. Paid with a credit card. Received the receipt with a $1.75 tip added to the charge. I did not authorize, or was not even asked if I wanted to add, a tip. It appeared as if the girl working the window had to hand off my card to a manager/supervisor to run the card through on a different register than the drive through. The employee asked me if just wanted to keep the tip on my bill. I said, "No. I'm already paying $15 for a burger and fries!" Manager voided first charge and re-ran the card with the correct amount. I visited Dairy Queen on the 11th and purchased four Blizzards. One had a hole in it, and another was completely wrong, not even our order. The first one leaked all over our car. To be fair, the staff seemed very busy, but the person handing out the Blizzards was unpleasant and appeared annoyed when I grabbed them. One was literally dripping chocolate everywhere, which shocked me. I had to wipe them down as they were handed to me. When I got home, I called Dairy Queen and spoke with a manager, who was kind, understanding, and accommodating. They offered to replace the Blizzards, so we went back on the 12th to pick them up. However, when we arrived, a different manager came to the window and rudely said, "Um, I'm only giving you one Blizzard. Which one did you want?" His tone was aggressive, which led me to push back. I explained that all four needed to be replaced, especially since I had even requested smaller sizes instead of the mediums we originally bought. Not to mention, the cost of getting our car detailed to clean up the spilled Blizzard was much more than the four small replacements. The manager seemed frustrated and shut the window, saying he needed to "make a call." When he returned, his demeanor had completely changed, realizing after making the call that we weren't lying. He was suddenly polite and said, "Sorry, I looked in the wrong book. We'll get those right out to you." I wouldn't have left this review if it weren't for the consistently rude service we've experienced at this location. The night staff on the 12th was sweet and seemed happy to be there, but this particular manager made the experience uncomfortable. On the 11th, there was also one rude staff member, but the female closing manager that night was kind and professional. I feel kinda silly for writing a review for DQ but we had such a lovely time there. We only ordered cones dipped in chocolate but the coating was done properly! The young woman at the counter was bubbly and just just darling! The premises were smaller than other Dairy Queens but it was warm and inviting. There was a lovely gentleman that walked through the restaurant ensuring everyone was happy with their order. I've never seen this done at any other DQ. Very nice. Tried this new location once before. They were closed 3 hours earlier than their posted time on the front door. Tonight, we decided to give them another chance. Pulled up to the drive through, lady asked for our order, we asked for a second to look at the menu. Said "hello, we're ready" and no response. Tried again, and again, and again and still no response. After almost 10 minutes patiently waiting, we decided to just pull up to the window. Young man comes to the window, we tell him what happens and he apologized and asked if he could take our order. After we begin giving him our order, he puts his hand up and says "hold on" and shuts the window turning his back to us. After a couple minutes sitting in the drive thru staring at the employees back we've had enough. Good thing for us, McDonald's next door had McRibs and had no problem taking our order and conducting business like professionals instead of the epic shit show that is the Dairy Queen on Wedge. (Dining in) I ordered my burger and they got my order incorrect; I politely asked if they could correct it, then they brought me out the same burger made incorrectly (pretty much the same way they brought it out the first time.) When I went back to ask the for the correct order, the manager got mad at me for the mistake THEY made. The only positive is that the cashier stayed positive and professional. I ate in the restaurant and watched like 10 people come back in the restaurant with incorrect orders they received from the drive thru. I understand getting an order wrong, however when they make it wrong twice then act as though it is the customer's fault not to mention act unprofessional, that is unsatisfactory. I was so excited when DQ opened in my neighborhood. They just opened a few months ago. I hike Mt. Rose a few times every week but my weakness was always soft service ice cream. So after a hike I have been stopping at this location. I won't any longer. The large cones started out OK but have creeped to way too small. They also hit you up for a tip at the drive through. I'm tipping for what? I bought over $9.00 of soft serve (a large and small) and they were miserably small. Yesterday I just went to McDonald's right next door and brought 2 cones and the amount was just as much for 2 bucks. Just like most fast food joints I'm tired of being ripped off. I take my grandkids here every week when I pick them up from school. Service is always friendly and food is good. 3 stars because if you pay with a card, they get aggressive about a tip. Instead of taking your card, they hand out the little machine (which you can't read because of the sun on it) and tell you to push a button. It's a drive-through people! We stopped in during what we thought would be an off time, 2pm on a Saturday, it was not. Lol. With that being said, they had their "A" team on staff! the food with lightening quick after ordering, and we easily found a clean table inside to eat at. The cashier even came and checked in on us halfway... this is better service than 80% of the restaurants around here! we will definitely be back, so I can try some more gluten free blizzards.
