After being poked and prodded, I brought my daughter to this Dairy Queen Grill & Chill in Roswell, NM twice within a span of about a week. The first time we went inside. Place was clean. Employees were friendly. One held the door for us after she cleaned a window. The second time I took the drive-thru as I was in hurry to finish some work later than evening. The service was great, patient, and funny. I like it when they hold the blizzard upside down before handing it to you even at the drive-thru window and the wind is blowing like crazy. My patient was happy first with her medium chocolate-dipped cone ($3.77) from 4.8.2026, then even more so with her Royal New York Cheesecake (cheesecake pieces with a strawberry center) blizzard ($4.74) on 4.16.2026. read more

I was in the mood for cheese curds and this was the only place that had them in town before 11 am. They're parmesan garlic chicken tenders were fantastic but I was overcharged from the price on the menu. Added a small sundae, I was happy. It really hit the spot. Service was fast and everyone was very friendly. Did the survey, got a free dilly bar too- was great on a really hot day a couple days later. I went back again today, got their $7 burger combo, it came out very fast, and was solid although the fries were not hot. I really like that you can have them not make your sundae when you get your food, so you can have it after taking your time without it being soup. Ordered a box of cherry dilly bars and a red velvet blizzard. In the drive thru the young lady confirmed the they had cherry dilly bars. At the drive-through window, I handed her a $20 bill, she handed me back the change and no dilly bars. I dropped the coin change not knowing it was on top of the bills, then proceeded to ask her where the change was and she says oh it dropped on the ground. I asked her where the dilly bars were and she said they didn't have any, even though they confirmed they had a box when I put an order in at the drive-through her attitude was ridiculously rude and when she gave me the money back for the Dilly bars, that did didn't exist she made sure the change had like 20 pennies in it to irritate me. I kindly handed it back to her and said you can have your pennies back this young lady needs to be fired. This happened today at about 3:30 PM the date is 2/3/2026. This Dairy Queen Grill & Chill is located on a corner, across from J & P Community Bank with outdoor seating and its own parking lot. My husband, our little girl dog and I decided to stop by here yesterday afternoon around 4:45 pm. We decided to go through the drive thru instead of going inside. There were 2 cars ahead of us in the drive thru and seemed to take longer than expected. The car in front of us was waiting 5-6 minutes to make an order since no one had asked the car what they wanted to order. Then after we had made our order, we had to wait another 10-12 minutes for us to reach the window to pay and pick up our order. The 2 cars ahead of us must have ordered a lot of items because of the wait. Anyways, we ended up ordering: Small Strawberry Sundae, $3.19 prior to tax- I decided to get a sundae since I wanted an ice cream in a cup to avoid any messes. I liked the vanilla ice cream and did like that there were slices of strawberries with the strawberry syrup. The portion really is perfect for 2 to share. Plain medium cone, $2.49 prior to tax- My husband is such a fan of ice cream cones (even though there has been many times where the ice cream has melted all over his hands, lol. But luckily this one did not). He enjoyed this and so did our little girl dog (as she just loves ice cream). ------------------------------ (Total= $6.12 after tax) Even though the hotel we are staying at is just down the street from here, we decided to park and eat our ice cream (it was funny to see a few cars after us had done the same). My sundae came with a long red spoon, but I wished the girl at the register had given us some napkins with our items since my husband needed one to wipe his mouth and so did our little girl (lol, isn't it funny that dogs always have a little something on their bottom lip and can't seem to reach it?). With the other reviews on this Yelp page, it seems that service is a common thing that other members are complaining about (that it is slow). My wife and I ordered two simple things from their dessert menu. I got a large vanilla ice cream while she got the Reese's blizzard. My ice cream was more ice than cream and wasn't how Dairy Queen normally makes their vanilla cones. My wife's Reese's Mini Blizzard had two pieces of wrapper of some sort in the ice cream. This was very gross and she couldn't finish it. If you are looking for normal ice cream you should stay clear of this Dairy Queen. read more

A young person sitting at the counter doing paperwork who never even acknowledged either of us in line. This is the SLOWEST "fast food" restaurant I've ever been to. I have driven through several times and they consistently take a very very long time with their service. Today, I paid for my food at 12:56 pm. It is now 1:11 pm and I'm still sitting at the drive thru window. I got my blizzard already, but it's rapidly melting. I only ordered a regular cheeseburger and fries. The WORST and SLOWEST location ever. I just thought it was a one off.... Then a two-off. But no. I've had bad experiences at this one before, and probably wouldn't have come back if I hadn't been given a gift card. Also, I wanted a burger and dessert; and it just made sense to get it all here. The drive-through line was long. When I finally got to the window and placed my order, I was asked to move out of the line and somebody would deliver my food. I did, and waited some more. A kid came out and handed me the burger. I opened the wrapper and it had all kinds of crap I asked them NOT to put on it. By this time the kid was gone so I had to go inside. I showed my receipt at the counter and told the rep what happened. I repeated what I wanted on my burger. After a long wait, someone delivered a new burger. This time, they had given me the completely wrong sandwich. I took it back. Waited for another long period. The burger finally came back right, so I returned to my car. By this time, the ice cream in my sundae was completely melted. It was like a bowl of sweet milk. The last straw was when I realized they had only given me maybe half an ounce of chocolate syrup. I kept digging around through the white liquid trying to scrape some syrup off the side of the container, and the most I could find was a little smear on the bottom. Never got the change. When I asked her (felt a little silly about $0.02) she looked so confused I gave up. She brought me my drink, which was correct. She gave me the food - chicken strips when I had ordered a bacon cheeseburger combo. Told her there was a mistake, she again looked super confused. Finally got the "correct" meal. Got home, discovered there was no cheese on my bacon cheeseburger. If I didn't live on the other side of town, and hadn't already spent 30 minutes there I probably would have gone back... We came to this location today for a late lunch. We ordered 2 chicken baskets a 4 piece and a 6 piece. The employee didn't give us a receipt. When I got home I saw that we only had a 4 piece chicken basket no 6. So I called and the employee on the phone told me it was no problem and to just come back. I told them on the phone that I wasn't given a receipt they said it wasn't a problem. When I get back and get to the window and tell them I called about the chicken basket the employee gets the manager who comes up to the window and asked me about 3 times if I was sure I was at the right Dairy Queen. (There's only 2 in town) I said yes and she then asked where my receipt was and when I told her I wasn't given one she replied with "Well we haven't made any chicken tenders in the last 30 minutes to an hour so I think you're at the wrong Dairy Queen" I said "No I'm sure I was at this one. She then says she'll get me the chicken tenders this time but next time I need a receipt. When she hands me the chicken tenders she says "Next time I'm gonna need the receipt cause you're not at the right Dairy Queen " so I said back "Thank you and maybe make sure your employees follow protocol and hand out receipts have a good day" as I start to drive off she yells at me"I got your license plate " I don't know what she meant by that or anything but I wasn't scared. Cashier was a complete moron I ordered a chicken basket medium french fry and a number four to go, I waited 20 minutes she brought my chicken basket out which was greasy I had to wait an additional 10 minutes and she brought my hamburger out which was supposed to be number four ended up being a number six and she never made the french fries I had to pull the receipt out to prove what I ordered even though I was only one in the restaurant, I also ordered a cake blizzard, and the girl drop the ice cream on the counter and was going to give it to me anyways, I seen her and made her make me a new one, I would give them negative stars if I could read more

We visited about 2 days ago at 9:20pm. Even though the drive through was stacked a tad, we went to dine in for ice cream only. We took about 5 min to decide our selections, but then we waited at the cash register AT LEAST 15 min. An employee looked at us staring at her, but continued to refill sprinkles, etc. Another employee ventured by as we stared her down and told us we'd be helped shortly as she went into the back. She came back toward us within 5 min, but answered and stayed on the phone. Another employee was sweeping. Therefore, as we were ready to leave, the poor, hardworking manager(?) was told we were still standing at the counter, so she switched off of the window to take our order. This has been one of the worst we have ever been to. All of the staff is always rude, always. We, family of 5, ordered hot fudge Sunday, small dipped cone, 2 blizzard cones, and a mini blizzard. Waited almost 20 minutes to start seeing ice cream, the last mini blizzard finally was made after they made at least 3 other customers ice creams after our order. We had to ask for it and the manager had a terrible attitude about it. By the time my daughter received her blizzard the entire family was already done eating. Next morning, everyone that had a blizzard has food poisoning, they are nauseated and have diarrhea, terrible stomach cramps. We went to Dairy Queen around 830 that evening and I think they might have been trying to close early. They said what took so long was they had to wait for the ice cream to freeze.
