Ranking this on the Dairy Queen fast food scale. I'm not saying it's 4/5 star against a full blown restaurant. But for a quick bite it met the objective quite well. The staff were running around trying to keep up but they had good attitudes considering. It was not a bunch of unsupervised teenagers, which is always a good sign. The toast needed a few more seconds. The gravy was just powdered gravy. But I was impressed with the steak fingers. They were clearly just frozen steal fingers. But usually I will have at least one bite that is chewy or gross. These were fine. I personally prefer my fries crispier, but I have had a lot worse. Several people seemed to be enjoying their shakes/ice cream. Service was fast and courteous. The place was clean for a fast food restaurant. The bathroom did not seem cooled and was smelly (but clean). read more

The lady taking my order got it wrong and when I tried to correct the issue at the window she kept telling me that was not what I ordered. She kept telling me what I said! I know what I said and she even verified the order over the speaker. I ordered two individual tacos and nachos. I was charged for two taco meals (6 tacos). She refused to refund my money and slammed the drive thru window in my face. The absolute worst interaction with a Dairy Queen employee I have ever had. I won't give this place one more penny! This is the DQ I prefer to go to in Midland. The location has a well maintained parking lot with a couple covered spots. There is also an outside dining area. Inside, the dining room is generally clean with seating well spaced. The service can be slow at times but my order is always correct and meets my expectations. The food is exactly what I expect from a DQ Texas--the beef is always hot and fresh, the nachos have ample amounts of cheese and peppers, and the condiments are always generous. read more

Wanted to get my kids a blizzard today, decided to go through the drive through. The lady taking the order kept saying "and what else" almost cutting me off every time. I get to the end and she says "that all?" I get you may not wanna be at work, maybe you had a bad day, whatever......but don't be rude to customers who arnt being rude to you. I was treated rudely here recently, and left without my order. After each item, "Is there anything else?!" "Yes, I'd also like..." "IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE?!?" I'm trying to order meals and blizzards for 3 kids and myself, so it's gonna be a minute. I finally told her "I'll go somewhere else, since I'm obviously bothering you." and left. Today, kids wanted DQ again, so I figured I'd give it another chance. I worked fast food in HS. I know how much it can suck. Maybe she was having a bad day... broke up with her BF, someone ran over her cat... I'll just go and get my kids what they want, it'll be fine. It was not fine. I pull up. "I'll be with you in a minute." Me: "Ok." Five minutes pass. Nothing. Three cars behind me, backed out on to Big Spring. Me, trying to be polite: "Hello?" "MA'AM, you need to give me a minute." Me: "Alright." I'm gonna be nice. My kids want DQ. This is not an easy job. Another 5 minutes later: "Can I take your order?" Me: "Yes, I'd like ______--" She cuts me off: "Is there anything else?" Take deep breaths, just be nice... Me: "Yes please, a ______--" "Is there anything else?!?" Me: "Yes, I need a ______--" "IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE?!?" Again. I want food and Blizzards for 4 people, y'all. Me: "Yes--" And she sighs LOUDLY. Like I'm ordering 37 combos and 19 Blizzards, and I just asked her to give me her first born child. That set me off. She brought out my Karen, and I'm not proud of it. Me: "You know, if it's too much for you I can go somewhere else." "WHAT WAS THAT?!" Me: "Yeah, I dealt with you before. This is b***s***. Bye!" I then said something I wish I hadn't out the window as I drove off that I won't repeat. Again, not proud. Then I went to Sonic. Got the same food, very friendly service, and all of my food in less time than it took me to ALMOST place an order at DQ. The wait was an hour long in the drive through with only four cars. They were out of supplies for one dessert. They made another dessert incorrectly. We had to wait extra time for the staff to find a manager for the refund on the desert that they couldn't make. It wasn't worth an hour of our lives. We won't be going back. read more

This doesn't even deserve one star, seriously. I had low expectations going in because the staff is young and untrained and pretty much clueless, knowing from previous experience... but this takes the cake (pun not intended, hah!) First, my husband called to order a basic ice cream cake around noon, called again at 7:30 pm to make sure it was ready for pick up and the guy said no and refused to even check and look to see if it was there. It was there, by the way. The writing looked like my toddler wrote it, and they misspelled my name. I just laughed as I consider posting it to cakewrecks.com... It was pretty awful. But then as I cut the cake THERE WAS NO CHOCOLATE IN THE MIDDLE!!!! Solid vanilla ice cream all the way through! How does that even happen?! Voted worst DQ burger place in Midland & Odessa. We stopped by for some burgers. Buns were cold & hard, I mean HARD!!! Meat taste like card board. The wait time is terrible.... They tell you they will be with you in a few minutes but you end up waiting about 10-15 min and when you want to order they tell you sorry we are out of that right know ....... Not recommended and will probably go 10 blocks south and go to the other Daria Queen it's a little better read more

Came in at 1013 am and was ignored after standing while the employees cleaned. No other customers and the place opened at 10am. Went to t&t donuts instead which had much better service. Would avoid this place in the future. Shame because in home state of Louisiana, Dairy Queen has much better service. read more

We just went to this DQ around 6:50 PM, and the employees were all outside smoking when literally they have a sign at the door to not smoke. Another costumer showed up and got inside and all of them slowly went inside, one of them left half of the cigarette at the edge. That was very disappointing and annoying, and I'm pretty sure they didn't wash their hands because they went straight to attend that customer that went inside. They disposed of their cigarettes in puddles of water outside and needed to wash their hands. I will not be returning to this DQ in Midland, sadly it's the only one. read more

This Dairy Queen is a bit inconsistent with other Dairy Queens I visit. This particular time I went in through the drive through. The drive through isn't particularly built for the amount of that live in Midland and can support around 3-5 cars without spilling into the road. If you do run into a full drive through, just park outside. When we got to the window we received the wrong order. It only looked like about two people were working. My blizzard was good as always but the sweet taste of a blizzard doesn't replace the bittersweet taste of service. read more

I normally don't write bad reviews .. but this DQ is by far the dirtiest, most disorganized DQ I have ever been to. We moved to TX 2 months ago and have been here a few times since it's right down the road. We will now be switching to a new location, farther away just because of the unsanitary conditions as well as the disorganization of the store and employees. The other night my husband and I waited in the drive thru line for about 25 minutes (there were only 3 cars in front of us). During this time this location lost about 4 customers to the wait. Once we finally got to the window they charged us for our ice cream but then 5 minutes later came to the window and told us we had to wait 20 minutes because they had to restock the ice cream. I have worked at several ice cream places growing up and the machines make you aware when they are low, and it should be the managers and employee knowledge on when to restock before running out. Anyways, my husband and I went inside, it was incredibly hot and mucky in there and beyond disgusting/dirty. Flies were everywhere, the place smelled like bad BO, garbage on the floors/tables and tables/chairs all disorganized. Normally I would be respectful of the disorganization as it is a restaurant, however, there were at least 5 workers in this place! At least put one employee in charge of organizing the place and wiping down some tables! This is also when the machines were down and all five employees were doing anything. The employees also had their drinks showing on the counters which is something restaurants normally train against. Looking around at the faces of the other customers sad it all .. it was gross. After 25 minutes the employees began to bring out ice cream, but all the blizzards had ice cream all over the outside of the cups ... to the point where the customers had to clean their own cups. My husband said it will be the last time going to this location and I personally agree. This place needs either a new general manager, and to train their employees better, or the owner of the franchise needs to do a serious walk through of the place. Yuck! read more

Came here to get the blizzard meal deal! We waited for our food and instead received the blizzard first when we asked for it as we leave and we were told she could do that. Still waiting for food and finally received it after complaining of 15+ min wait. The employees are awful! It smells in the restaurant like sewage! Do not recommend EVER!!! My friend and I went here after my interview. The staff was very rude and nasty towards us. They made us wait for 10 minutes at the drive thru ordering spot. The woman swiped my card so many times and put in the chip reader maybe about 20 times. Then used my friends card and swiped 6 times to finally pay for the ice cream. ok so uh. im writing this review cause im angery. my cousin wanted some ice cream and i really wanted funnel cake. so we decide to go to dairy queen. first off, when we got there, this dude took 10 minutes to take our order. there were only two cars ahead of us. whats so hard about taking an order?. also, when he did take our order he had an attitude. im the one who's supposed to have the attitude, buddy. i been sittin here for 13 minutes and haven't even gotten my order taken. aLSO i had to pee really bad so that just adds on to the situation. aaannyway... when he finally took our order he said they didnt have funnel cakes. like, yes you do. its on your menu. you mean youre ouT? who tf. i suggest y'all go to the one further down the road. they actually take your order and get you your stuff in under 15 minutes unlike this one did. frick you 706 n big spring st dq. read more

I love Dairy Queen. Blizzards are one of a kind. This location is terrible. The employees do not care and move very slow. Most times the drive through takes forever. Most of the food and ice cream is standard DQ. The service is horrible. Not sure if any of the other locations are better but avoid this one if you can. read more

NO STARS!! DO NOT EAT HERE! My meal was terrible! So I go to the counter to see if I could just get a burger instead of the crap I was eating and the manager just stares at me. I even apologized to her, stating I don't usually complain but the steak fingers tasted like they thawed out and were cooked regardless. I didn't have an attitude, I simply stated my opinion. When I asked if I could get a burger instead, she just walks away! She didn't ask what I wanted on it, nothing. So, of course, the burgers comes with mustard and I don't eat mustard. I went back to my table to tell my husband what was going on and another employee brings me the hamburger with mustard. I just left it on the table and got out of that place as fast as I could. Unbelievable!!!! Decided to go through the drive thru for lunch today because there was only 1 car in line (3 cars in the parking lot). How slow could it be, right? Waited 15 minutes just to place my order. While waiting at the pick up window, 3 out of 4 employees I could see were just standing around. After running out of patience, I asked for a refund. Suddenly my lunch was ready......it wasn't even my order. If this had been the 1st time is had been slow, I would probably go again. But this seems to be the norm......won't go back.
