Their unique flavors like Moon Pie, Cherry Garden, Banana Pudding, Sliced Lemon, and Apple Pie made every visit special and kept us coming back for more. It was heartbreaking to see the shop temporarily close because of the downtown construction in 2024 but they are back as strong as ever.

The shop itself is adorable, the staff is friendly, and the overall experience is great. But unfortunately, the star of the show, the ice cream fell short for us. While the texture was nice and creamy, the flavors just didn't deliver. My cherry and peach scoops had barely a piece or two of fruit, and the flavor was very mild, almost nonexistent. I shared my thoughts with a local friend and, without prompting, they described the exact same experience. We're rooting for this place and really hope they make some tweaks to their recipes. A bit more flavor and a few more mix-ins could make a world of difference. We'd love to see them succeed and become a long-term part of the downtown scene.

This is QuikTrip store #1022. It's located just off I-85 exit 58 in Kannapolis, North Carolina…read more It's north of Charlotte and just north of Concord (Concord Mills). This is a good place to fill up between Charlotte and the Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point) and Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill). If traveling south past Charlotte and into South Carolina, I recommend waiting to fill up at a QT in South Carolina because the gas prices in South Carolina are better. For example, I drove from North Carolina to Georgia recently and stopped at this QT and then at another QT in South Carolina. The price difference per gallon of premium was $0.30. If traveling southbound, the first QT you'll come across in South Carolina is at I-85 exit 90 in Gaffney. As far as this QT goes, it's good, just like the vast majority of QTs. This one is on the larger side with 20 pumps at the station. The convenience store is Gen 3 (Generation 3, the latest design), which I believe all QT stores in North Carolina are. During my visit, the property was clean and felt safe and the staff was well-trained and polite. Like most QTs, this one was busy, but it wasn't too bad on a Thursday morning at 11:30am. This QT is situated at the entrance to Cloverleaf Plaza (shopping center with Roses, a store from my childhood) and directly across the street from Carolina Memorial Park (cemetery). I've been to a lot of QTs over the past two-plus decades (I'm a fan) and I'm pretty sure this is the first one I've been to that's next to a cemetery.
