Daiso haul

I'm a big fan of Daiso and I'm glad they're finally opening stores here around Denver! They had their grand opening weekend and offered the first 100 people who spend $30 before tax a free goodie bag. We actually came here on Saturday first but the line wrapped around the entire building and I didn't wanna spend hours just waiting to get in so we left and tried again Sunday. We got there 30 mins before opening and the line was already to the back of the building. We ended up waiting for a little more than an hour and then another hour or so shopping and waiting to check out. The store is very spacious and offers a wide variety of stuff from home decor to kitchen and food items to stationary to makeup. There's lots of items to look at and it can definitely be overwhelming especially when you're trying to spend $30 to get a free goodie bag haha. Everything is cheap and affordable and the employees were super nice as well. There's employees around the store to help if you need it and there was someone with a checkout line sign and someone to point you to one of the 4 registers to check out. They also offered a 10% coupon to use in 2 weeks. Definitely recommend this place and definitely plan on coming back to take my time buying anything and everything!

Line around the building for the opening!

We finally visited after all the crazy opening crowds. There is a great selection of random household items that you probably never knew existed or that you needed lol. I was a little surprised by the food item prices that I feel like you can find at other local Asian markets for a more reasonable price. Overall it was a fun store but not like what remember it being in CA.

I stopped by at Daiso and my honest review is that It's not what I expected to be, especially when people gets excited about a new place opening. The place was sort with so many cute things, but unfortunately the snacks section was almost empty. Everything seems organized. If you are looking for something Japanese or Korean then this is your place to go if not you have the dollar tree next door.

Visiting the Daiso in Aurora a week after the opening. Although there were still quite a lot of customers inside, at least did not have to wait in the jaw dropping queue anymore. With the exception of the snack section, the store was well stocked with quite a wide range of assortment, more than what I expected. The stickers were in Japanese Yen. The currency conversion was clearly posted everywhere in the store. Most items were between $1.75 and $15.25. Based on the current exchange rate of $1 to 150 yen, the markup was about 100%. Quite reasonable compared other places and the logistics involved. Certainly will come back for household items. Still excited to see we got Daiso in town.

Daiso is finally here!!!! Those who know what they are will love them. It is not for cultural items. It's more like a one hundred yen store. They don't have as much as the Korean Daiso I went to with same square footage but once re-stocked I hope they will have more variety. I found the chair socks I wanted but not the rice spoon which are bunny ears. They have a little of everything - from gardening to housewares to paper products to clothing accessories. They were sold out of the snack I wanted - sad panda. Lots of cool wrapping items so I'll definitely be back when I have to gift something. It is difficult to figure out pricing for some items as the print is small but everything I purchased, except a metal spatula, was $1.75. The spatula was $3.25. FYI the self service cash register is credit card only but there's a cashier standing by. She was nice and rang me up efficiently. Bring your own bag or buy one there. Parking in shared lot. I can't wait to check out the other Daisos in Colorado. Still seeking the rice scooper spoon. Or perhaps another trip to Korea is in order.... :)

Just part of one aisle with envelopes.

The fun and economical shopping without going to Japan. Daiso is so clean, organized and store filled with unique "toys and food. Must go before tariff will raise the cost.

Bad customer service and place stinked bad. Never going bad again, food aisle wasn't stocked and went early right after they opened.

Want frozen fruit for your smoothies? You *NEED* to come here. Like that drink mix (sugared or sugar-free) but don't feel like paying $1.67 a box at KS? Come here and get it for a buck. [This is probably my primary stock-up here]. Red Baron pizza singles here? A buck -- significantly cheaper than at above mentioned chains. If you need non-serious levels of cleaning supplies, they have those here as well. A few knock-off brands of energy drinks. Vitamins and supplements galore, and it's a *great* place to hit for Thanksgiving or Christmas season holiday candy. The clientele in this store largely reflects the price point, I am sure this outlet comes as a boon to lower-waged working folk. Cashiers are friendly and usually helpful if you have a query. You can't find everything here, but you would be surprised at what you can find. It also crushes other store chains with "Dollar" in their name like "Family Dollar" and "Dollar General" (both of which do not limit prices to a dollar and are sometimes on the level of Walgreen's or 7-11 price points). Unless you are very focused, grab a green basket even if you are there for "just 1 or 2 things"; you may end up grabbing a dozen or more items if something catches your eye as "a good buy for a buck".

Monaco Parkway and I hope to never go back. They had one worker in the entire store who was very sweet but completely overwhelmed trying to check out people and answer everyone's questions. He was a true hero and needs help at night. The store itself is extremely dirty, not put together and just not a pleasurable experience. I feel like the dollar trees really need to step it up and hire enough staff to keep the store stocked and clean.
