My favorite store to shop in for miscellaneous items. Majority of them are priced $1.50 unless stated otherwise. I practically bought all my kitchen supplies from here. Quality items at an affordable price. Just make sure you "need" or really "want" it. Because there are no returns or exchanges. The Japanese discount store is finally in the San Gabriel Valley! No more driving to Torrance for some cheap plastic goods. I love seeing the Daiso in this area. Albeit it is one of the smaller shops in the chain, you can still find a lot of good items here. I picked up a lot of school supplies here. For $1.50 for most items, you cannot really go wrong here. I understand when people say that the aisles are small. Yes, they are. If you are fat, don't even bother trying to maneuver through here without destroying one of the aisles. A few days before the grand opening of this place, I was at the Daiso at Torrance thinking to myself how awesome it would be if there is a Diaso closer to my home. Well now, there is one but I can't say it is the same though. Compare to the other Daiso, this one in Monterey Park is a bit smaller and crowded. The aisles are also very narrow and could hardly fit for two people. To get from one side to the other, it requires constantly saying "excuse me" and many intimate moment with the other customers. There seems to be less items sold here as well. The banana protector that I want to buy is not sold in this store Overall, I'm still a huge fan of Daiso but just wish they could have set up a larger location instead to make for a better shopping experience. read more

Avoid coming here on weekends.. It's nearly impossible to navigate around the store. The narrow aisles are difficult to get through because of all the people standing right dab in the middle. Lines can get extremely long too. Parking is usually not a problem as its located in a plaza. Good spot to pick up school supplies and kitchen items though. I love the pens they sell here. Another good find are the white ceramic bowls they have. Can't guarantee just how long these items will last as they only range from $1.50 to $3 .. Beware: You will end up leaving this store with useless items because of impulse purchases. read more

This place is pretty dope. It's basically a Japanese 99 cent store (although in this case, almost everything is $1.50). You can actually find some pretty useful stuff here and walk out with a very cheap bill. I bought some tiny tupperware (just what i needed for dipping sauces, leftover panchan, etc...) and some vinyl slips to hold papers. Excellent place to shop for things you'd never want to spend big bucks to try :) The best thing is that the quality of the product is really not bad for the $$ you pay here. Although everything is final sale...no exchange or refund...for the price they charge that's really a non-issue :) Note: things do go and run out quickly. I bought a laundry box thingy for bras the first time I visited here...I bought one to try... After testing, I realized the product is really good...sturdy. So I returned trying to buy more...But when I returned the last three times, they don't have it any more...and in replacement, they have a whole bunch of similar but cheaper version of the thingy I'm looking for... This one star rating is for the customer service--or lack thereof--at this particular Daiso. We were having trouble looking for a particular item, and we asked one of the stockers, Ivy, where we could find it. She told us that the item was "over there" and waved her hand toward aisle. Because of her vague answer, we asked, "where?" to confirm the location. She pointed behind us and irritably asked us if our eyes were working. We were shocked by the rude reply and basically said, "WTF, why are you giving us attitude?" Sounds like *somebody* hasn't gotten laid in a while. In fact, this is the reason why she works as a stock person only good at breaking down boxes and hiding in that back dungeon! read more

I love Daiso for all its cheap, cute, and useless things! Ok ok, not everything is useless. The things I needed were out of stock...boo! Maybe I was spoiled by their bigger and better Gardena location, which is the biggest in SoCal. This location is so cramped. They need to occupy more space; tear down a wall or two to make room. Like all their locations, the store was super busy. It was quite annoying maneuvering around oblivious shoppers, and those with strollers. There's simply no space to shop when more than two people are in the same aisle. I can see why they don't have the carts with wheels. They only have baskets for you to carry while you shop, and even then I'm sure I bumped into people with my basket, and knocked down items...oops! The cashier line should indicate where it starts and ends, because people were lining up from both ends. As most of us know, all sales are final. I doubt I'd drive all the way back to return a $1.50 item anyway. I'm a sucker for Daiso. I'm sure I'd come back here, but if Gardena were closer to me, I'd hit that one up instead. read more

Daiso is a really cute concept, and I love the amount of useful things they have thought of to offer for $1.50. The bento stuff alone makes me incredibly happy, because the same stuff across the way at the Tokyo import store runs about $6 (really, Tokyo?). It is very difficult for a first-time shopper to get out empty-handed. I brought some friends here, and they all started picking up so many things, they realized they should have each grabbed a basket on the way in. The major downside, as has been explained here repeatedly, is the aisle size. It's so crowded, and there is no room to navigate around people, and the place is *packed*. It's worse than the bazaar in Chinatown, by a lot. read more

I was so excited upon finding out Daiso was in the 626! However, it can't compare to the others. I'd say 3.5 stars. This one is a lot smaller than the other locations. With narrow aisles and somewhat rude older Asians who don't move...The line to pay was so long it blocked the aisles and made it impossible to go into a new row. I'm going to say this is due to the fact they just opened but it was pretty bad how crowded it was. Put the negatives aside and you get a cheap super cute store! They have pretty much all the necessities I usually buy at the other locations so yay for saving on gas money. Everything is $1.50 unless stated otherwise and no returns. From my experience everything I have bought have been fine. No problems. My mom loves the white sponges, they literally get rid of all gunks and marks on almost any surface. It's like the same thing is Mr. Clean Magic Eraser but for only $1.50! The Mr Clean one is pretty pricy I believe $7 for the same amount. This location isn't my favorite of the Daisos but it's closer to home and has what I need. read more

In two words: cutesy cheap. This is not your regular 99c store or your dollar tree. This is so very different. Everything in here is $1.50. You really dont need anything in here but you just have to have it because a) its cheap! b) its cute c) where else are you going to find a mini pouch with pear and apple prints on the front, neon bobby pins or rice bowls in crazy shapes? I love coming here when Im making gift baskets or just to stop in and see what they have. If you have nieces then its a great place to stock up for birthdays or what have you. P.S. Leave the hubby outside, he'll just roll his eyes with every nonsensical purchase you make. I WILL ALWAYS COME BACK TO DAISO TO GET CHEAP AIR FRESHENERS FOR MY CAR. That is pretty much it. They now have the peel away fresheners that you stick underneath your seat which I think are way better than the ones you stick on your dashboard or hang on something. This location is too small and it's always crowded. I rather go to Gardenia or other locations. I love Daiso and it's very easy to spend over $25.00 there. Some of the stuff sell very fast here so it's best if you buy it right away. They accept credit cards with a $10.00 credit limit. Con: No carts to wheel around in this location. You have to walk around with a basket but the aisles are too small for people to carry baskets. Also, this location doesn't carry Hawaiian soda at all. No place to line up to pay. Ugh! read more

This place is great if you're looking for small items around the house. The first thing you will notice when you walk into the store are the bright PINK colors! They sell anything from snacks, toothbrushes, school supply, gardening, baking, to clothing, dinnerware, hygiene, makeup, etc. Think of this place as an Asian version of the 99 cent store. Most items, probably 85% of the store, are $1.50. Everything else varies between $3-$10. Most people come here for the convenience. For what you pay, you can't expect their products to be high quality. Therefore, all sales are final! I like to stop by this place if I need something very basic and common. Also, something I'm not expecting to last for a long time. I will return to this place from time to time. If you took all of 626 and stuffed them in a closet, this is what it would look like. This Daiso is so so so small it's pretty crazy. You can only fit 1 person down an aisle at a time, but it makes it worse when this place is always filled with people. The smaller size of the store also means that they have less things than other locations I've been to. Everything in the store is $1.50 unless otherwise marked and most of the stuff is made in China, but you'll find some stuff made in Japan, Korea, and even India. I'm so lucky this place is close to my work !! I love daiso with all their cute items priced at a cheap 1.50 each! I come here to get all my super cute stationary and I also get other random things such as small food containers, plates, bowls, cups, socks, Asian gummi snacks, just to name a few! Huge store full of random Japanese items for almost anything you need. Like many Japanese stores I've been to, it is super crowded with products everywhere and on top of that a bunch of people. Made me feel like I was a sardine in a can. Anyways...they have cheap organizers, stationary, pet products, slippers, decent selection on Japanese cosmetics, candy/snacks and kitchenware. The prices are cheap, but so are the products. I would come here for things for organizers and house slippers though. read more

You know what, I love Daiso and I visit Marukai in San Diego quite frequently so I was VERY excited to hit Daiso in Los Angeles. I thought it would be like mecca. Unfortunately it was way too crowded (Sunday afternoon) to even be able to enjoy it. The line ran right down the middle aisle the entire length of the store. No lie. We couldn't even cross to the other side because there was a huge line of people blocking the way. Getting in and out of the aisles themselves was a chore because we were constantly weaving around people browsing or just randomly stopped in the middle of the walkway. If we wanted to see a particular area of an aisle, we generally had to wait for someone to move away from it before we could even get close. A few aisles in I began to realize there was nothing here that I hadn't already seen at Marukai Value in SD. I managed a few more aisles of tripping over and pushing my way through crowds of people before I finally told my husband that I had to get out of there. There was nothing in there special enough to make me want to endure the special kind of torture Daiso was doling out. Even if I had found something I wanted, there is no way I would have stood in line for 30+ minutes just to purchase a few items for $1.50. Moral of the story: I'll stick to my local Daiso affiliate that is never too crowded and never has a wait more than a few customers long. Holy crap, you guys. The best part, however, was the huge group of men hovering outside the front door waiting for their girlfriends/wives/daughters to come out of that madhouse.
