I really enjoyed shopping at this Daiso branch. It is located at Atlantic Times Square. The store is spacious, well lit and organized. They have a wide variety of beauty products, hair accessories, toys, cute tiny totes, stationaries, utensils, snacks and more. Everything is well stocked. While I was waiting for my food order from Yum Long at Atlantic Times Square in Monterey Park, I visited Daiso within the same square. It's not a very big store like some of the other Daisos I've been to. Clean and organized interior. Aisles are slightly narrow. Shelves were well stocked. Most merchandises and knick knacks are pretty standard. Although I did noticed a couple cool finds. Bought a tea strainer and sushi box (to be used for tray of togetherness at future Lunar New Year events). Staff was friendly and helpful. Prices were average. Strange, I didn't see self check-out. Closest Daiso to Asayoru Maid Cafe! If I have to get extra storage for my cheki or bromides or if I need an accessory to wear to the cafe for an event, this is the perfect spot to stop by right before. They usually also participate in the Milkyway Marketplace events that occur at Atlantic Times Square. Stock is pretty decent and I've never really seen things out of stock. I've mostly seen them restock random things there or have huge boxed shipments in random spots of the store. Staff probably getting ready to add more things in. Sad day that Daiso is like $2.25 for items now, but le sigh, tis the society we live in. Sometimes things in certain aisles, like the storage, oshikatsu, stationery aisle are shoved everywhere and not as organized, but if they don't have a lot of staff, I can see why this wouldn't be a priority. We were strolling through Atlantic Times Square Plaza, minding our own business, when all of a sudden a Daiso appears like a bright treasure cave. Hubby insisted we check it out. Within minutes, we're knee-deep in plushies, cute pens, and enough trinkets to fill a dragon's hoard... on a budget. They're already rolling out the Christmas merch!! Grabbed some of those too!! Daiso has definitely changed!! Not sure how others perceive the changes but coming to this daiso after a while I see there was improvements but also inflation of prices. The prices in all daiso increased and they will let you know exactly what items are priced and starting at $2.25 with some "clearance" items at lower price, I am not sure if I want to buy a lot anymore! The self checkout is what changed, no more cash! We tried to pay but only card is accepted here and there wasn't a staff near the check out if we wanted to pay cash. There was a line so we just paid by card to not hold it up and wait for staff. I love their seasonal section and usually they display new or seasonal things for sale near the front. read more

One of the largest Daisos I've ever seen. You want pens? There's a billion to chose from. You want decorations? There's a trillion to chose from. You want household items? Sure, they got that too. Parking is free (hallelujah). The employees are really nice. And the mall that this Daiso is in is a really nice, cute local mall in MP that does a lot with the little bit of space that it occupies. This Daiso store is located in a busy plaza in Monterey park, conveniently located next to free way. There's an underground paneling structure, shaded with the movie theater and other restaurants. It's crowded inside, and apparently understaffed, had to wait cashier to come to the front for checkout. read more

Gotta agree with everyone else: this store is usually cluttered, service is awful, and most staff seem miserable. But, props to the guy with the hair bun (boi was a Daiso employee) he was ight! I was trying to find an item but cant find it, so I tried asking the employees nearby, I did see some employee, they were helping either other people or trying to ignore other customers. Eventually found a person, he dropped what he was doing to help me find an item that was out of stock. He just told me that I keep looking around or wait while he went digging in the back. Used to be my home store. I love Daiso. I used to go to Daiso every week. Everytime, I would buy something. Whenever I drive by any Daiso, I would go in and check things out. When I visited Japan, I would make sure I stopped by a Daiso and its sister stores. This is how much I love Daiso. Recent months, I noticed my home store has changed. The first time I noticed the change, it was a nice day. I walked towards the store but the store was dimmed. I thought the store was closed. I walked towards the door and checked to see if the store is doing inventory check or what not. There, I found no notice and there were a few customers in it. I went in. The lights were half lit which is way dimmer than usual. The atmosphere was creepy and unpleasant. The moment I stepped in, it already seemed more chaotic than before. I started walking around and found there were overly stocked shelves and towers of boxes along the shelves. Certain parts of the area looked like it was robbed. Very unpleasant. When I checked out, I asked a staff what happened. They told me management change, things should get better soon. I gave it time, yet, I still stop by once a week or so. Today, I can't anymore. It never did improve. The chaotic, unwelcome vibe was stronger than before. I don't want this store to close because I am certain, at this rate, this store will closed because even I being its biggest fan would want to avoid it. It is a Daiso, it's not a ran down old dollar tree. I can't find the nice Japanese tidiness in it. The store has been emptier than before by lots. Today is a Saturday. The store has overstocked shelves and boxes on each aisle, but there's barely any customers in it. From outside the store really looks like it not opened. The cash wrap looks like it's being packed up and ready to move out. I don't know what kind of manager this store has but I know this manager is running this store to the ground. I don't understand any logic of this store manager position being filled. This store is smaller than the other Daiso stores but they ordered so much to be shelved yet very understaffed. The staff's hours have been cut from 40 to 20. A lot of old faces that I am familiar with have quit. If anything I found this staff member is trying their best to savage the situation. Just so people are aware, they increased prices for most items by 25 cents ( so most items are $1.75 now) and they have quite a few items that are $2 and more, now. It's not as affordable as it used to be, but the Dollar Tree also increased prices. Guess its just what happens with inflation. They still have a lot of cute items, and some Disney items. read more

CASHIER WOMAN STOLE FROM DAISO OLDER female cashier with short brownish/red hair wearing a mask and speaks in a Chinese accent stole 5 lighters today. I went back to buy an additional pack of 50 lighters and brought a FILLED pack to check the lighters to the cashier. Even though I did bring all 50 lighters to her, I noticed that 5 was missing from the box after her and I finished checking each lighter fluid individually. I didn't think much into it and just grabbed 5 more from the other boxes to complete my purchase. For a minute I thought that the vibes were weirdly off because there was 5 missing when I remember taking all 50 up. It wasn't until I retraced everything. The cashier didn't technically stole from me which I'm relieved, she stole from the store... which still is bad morale. In Chinese the number "5" sounds like "me"/我. So she took 5 lighters for herself. "me"/我 (aka herself) It's the principle and I didn't like that I was involved in this $5 heist. This review is for the male Asian cashier in his mid 20s/early 30s with the short poofy hair, wearing a face mask and the myriad of acne on his face. This happened at approximately 4pm on April 19th, 2025. He was extremely rude to me and my girlfriend, and his demeanor reads like he hates his job and he was forced to work there by his mom. We were carrying a lot of items and he rudely told us we can use the self checkout, which we weren't told about prior. This made my girlfriend feel flustered and she dropped something on the ground. He then in a very condescending tone, told my girlfriend she dropped an item. After he rang us up, I then asked him if they had any plastic bags, and then he stared at me like something phallic was growing out of my forehead. This all transpired so fast that we didn't realize we were being treated very poorly until after we left. Please hire honest workers who give a damn and not people who live in their parent's basement. read more

Always enjoy popping in here, aside from how adorable the displays are, there are some great practical deals to be found. I was able to get packing tape, which I needed, for a lot less than regular stores charge! However, many items could also be found at the 99 Cent store, so try to curb the impulse buys. They do offer some great solutions for storage. I was able to get small zip lock bags for jewelry projects and some clear zipper pouches that could be used for school supplies, make up bags, or craft projects so you can see what is in them! Now I have to go back and get more because they are a perfect storage solution!! read more

Most of the negative comments about Daiso's customer service are, unfortunately, very accurate -- slow checkout lines, unhelpful staff, and an overall sense of disorganization. It's disappointing when a store with such fun and affordable products consistently fails to provide even basic customer care. I was looking for hangers one day, I couldn't find them somehow, but I couldn't find anyone around for help. there's only one guy who rushing organizing the stacks was willing to stop by and help me patiently, and continued on the other days. This Daiso is one of my favorite stores within the SGV! It's very clean, affordable, and well kept. I love the food options and drinks! The employees are so helpful and kind, but some have an attitude. The male employee with the ponytail/bun at the kitchen area was so helpful and welcoming! My friends and I think he's handsome LOL! Highly recommend this place, just maybe add more painting brush variety options for the art section. :3 read more

This is one of my favorite Daiso in the Los Angeles area. I'll check them out almost every time I come to the area. This Daiso has many items I can not found in the Daiso at Sacramento. This one is bigger and better. It is in a shopping center together with many Asia stores and restaurants. Make it one of the most convenient locations for me to get the foods I like and purchase some snacks and cute little things in this store at the same time. This location is in Atlantic Plaza between AMC and 24 Hour Fitness. Parking is downstairs. You can't miss the entrance on Atlantic Blvd off the 10 freeway exit/entrance. Daiso is upstairs. I like this location because it's fun to shop around when you're waiting for food at the nearby restaurants and theater. Everything is mostly $1.50 unless they have a neon sticker that says otherwise. I've seen some $2, $4, or $6 items. The other day I realized they have a lot of cute decorations! The good: Daiso is a Japanese discount/dollar store similar to the Dollar Tree except with cuter stuff. I got Afro Ken stickers, red envelopes (except in different patterns and colors), envelopes/stationary and some metal baking tins here. The prices here all vary though most items are $1.50. I haven't seen Afro Ken merchandise since I was in high school so I was excited to see them here. I also got a chewy candy that was very much a dupe of Hi-Chew. The bad: I felt like this store offered fewer things than the other location in Alhambra. I was surprised that the stickers cost more than other items here. The interesting: They sell some Mexican paletas in the front by the registers. This is a great place to get pens, loot bags for snacks/gifts, knock-off Crocs clogs, false eyelashes, chips, pet collars, and Tupperware. read more

Why did I go into this store when Daiso is coming to Hawaii (Pearl City, Oahu) next month? Daiso (from Japan) has great deals! Most items are $1.50 unless otherwise marked. This location at Atlantic Times Square in Monterey Park (Los Angeles) has free covered parking! I got a fun shark candy toy for my 22 year old nephew. He was amused! Haha! (I never know what to get for boys...) The best find here was glass nail files. I have been searching everywhere for them. I had found some at Longs Drug Store in Kaneohe, but they don't carry them anymore. A while ago, I got some at JC Penney in Las Vegas and gave them as gifts. When I saw them at this Daiso, I took all of the pink ones and left one green one behind... lol! I enjoyed looking at the cute plushies, snacks, Christmas things, household goods, and office supplies. For those that don't know, Daiso is known to be like a $1.50 "dollar store" price model of high end japanese consumer goods. I think of it as dollar tree products with slightly better craftsmanship & a feel good store environment for the extra $0.50. Three stars off because of the price changes for some items and that are not ad consistent as I would expect and was used to. This is also because some of the guys were chatting while I was shopping and I also felt stares. I guess people in monterey park are more paranoid than ever. I welcome some of it as alertness though. It is likely because of their leadership failures in governance and bullying individuals that have been gentrifying business and driving out Asians. Residents really don't feel like they have as much faith in their leaders in this city now as much as they did in the last decade. A friendly hispanic lady helped me check out my purchase and even look for an item I wanted. I didn't catch her name though she was friendly and helpful versus the other two guys on shift & one other lady who were just there but not there for a customer or customers. Stopped by here after getting dim sum in the plaza. I had remembered this place from my college days as having cute, affordable knick knacks and wanted to check it out. We browsed around the store and saw everything from slippers, to makeup, to dishes and other household products, to ramen and candy. They have it all! We wandered down the office/school supply aisle and of course something caught my eye. I came across a white board calendar and some cute dry erase pens in different colors, perfect for keeping me organized. I also bought some notebooks to have on hand just in case I need to hand write notes. Everything was very affordable and decent quality. I just wish the price in dollars listed on/near the item was more clear. Overall, this is a great place to browse for fun/unique items at cheap prices! read more

Visiting Daiso is dangerous! I can spend hours here going up and down the aisles looking at each and every thing. This Daiso isn't the best but whenever visit nearby restaurants, inevitably I'm drawn to Daiso. The aisles here are narrow and cramped. Much like other Daiso, the inventory changes regularly and with the seasons. A lot of the items sold here are made in China but if you look closely, it's possible to find things made in Japan. Some of my personal favorites include, tea bags (sold in packs of 100) for loose teas, tissue paper, disposable pastry bags, and random plastic stuffs for the kitchen. I also enjoy the seasonal items during Halloween and Christmas. Parking here is easy but the lot can get really crazy due to the many other shops. I don't shop here regularly but when in the area this a decent Daiso. read more

As someone previously mentioned, Daiso is Japan's equivalent to Dollar Tree with prices starting at $1.50 and going up to $5. You can find a plethora of beauty, household goods, snacks, toys and craft items at incredibly low prices. Though their selection isn't as extensive as the Gardena location, I did find some great items here. Daiso, in general, is a great place to find replacement household products such as bowls, spatulas, chopsticks, timers, socks, etc. I've been trying to find a replacement exfoliating body towel that I usually buy at Korean markets. They're excellent at exfoliating everywhere and more rough compared to the soft, flimsy rags sold to women at stores. They had a similar one here for guys! This store did feel tight: the aisles were closer together compared to other Daiso stores. I had to really watch out for my hand basket since I could easily knock things over while not paying attention. This store is at the Atlantic Square, an outdoor shopping center in Monterey Park. There's a variety of Asian beauty, fashion, and food stores here and a free parking garage. read more

Who would've thought that they sell Santa sack bags? These were perfect for me in presenting my gifts to family. They also were selling Santa outfits with beard and all! The store is pretty up to date with seasonal items, which you can see them selling Halloween, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving items when the time comes. This location is a bit smaller than a typical stand alone store but it serves me well. Parking is free in the structure so no complaints there! read more
