I had an unfortunate experience today at the Grocery Outlet on the west side of Olympia. I came in…read morebriefly with headphones on, grabbed a few items, and had no interaction with any staff while shopping. Near the entrance there is an older male employee who seemed to have an unpleasant demeanor. I took out my headphones to be polite to the checkout employee. While I checked out he spoke with another older female employee talking about me. Then he came over quietly muttered "find somewhere else to shop." I was very surprised to hear that, especially as a paying customer who had simply come in, purchased a few items, and left without causing any issue or talking to anyone. Telling a customer to shop somewhere else is not something I would ever expect to hear from an employee. I've shopped at this location for years and never had a negative experience, which made this interaction even more disappointing. I hope management is aware and addresses this type of behavior toward customers.

Daiso was a must when I lived in Seattle and I love that it's in olympia now. As it was opening day, the store was packed but staff were controlling the flow of people to ensure safety for all. The checkout was semi quick but that was to no fault of the staff. The machine was sooooooo slow as of mid day. Like after every scan we waiting 10-15 seconds before we could scan again. Lol. The poor cashier apologized so much. I was fine. No bother to me when I can shop at one of my fav stores. 10/10. Love this place

However, recently I noticed that the price difference is negligible and you are essentially paying almost the same amount as if you were buying it at Walmart /Amazon /Costco. I rather pay one or two percent more and buy directly from Amazon/ Costco so I can get warranty, get it shipped to my doorstep, and make use of the return policy. Start off for saying that the produce is absolutely amazing at a really really good price. Once you head inside it's a treasure hunt. Sometimes they have what you need and sometimes they don't. I've seen other reviews on this we'll talk about expiration dates, which I think of as a suggestion. There's no way that a box of stuffing mix or other dried good is going to be expired by the time that that date rolls around. But if you're somebody who really pays attention to that you probably should look at the dates before you purchase, for me doesn't matter I'm buying getting a good deals and I'm very happy with this location
