Four Mile Creek State Park, New York I found this campground…read moreon Https://parks.ny,gov as I was planning a trip, a lifelong goal, to see Niagara Falls. I chose Four Mile Creek State Park for its proximity to the Falls, and nearby attractions like Fort Niagara, an Aquarium, the Niagara Power Vista, and the Underground Railroad Heritage Center, to name a few. This camp offers a shuttle service to these places, no need to worry about parking! I was welcomed by a cheerful office staff and given a map for the Niagara Falls State Park. I went to my site 13, it was nicely shaded and I had access to 30amp service and water a few sites away. The bathrooms & showers were clean and had access to washer/dryer. I met lots of nice people and the weather was great. (6/1 to 6/8) Every member of staff I encountered was friendly and accommodating. Shout out to maintenance staff, Mike, the shuttle driver and Tim, manning the Camp Store. In fact, Tim even circulates the campground every night after the store is closed with ice & firewood. I visited the Falls, walking all over the American side then walked across the bridge to Canada for lunch observing the Canadian side of the Falls. But my favorite thing about this whole journey was the sunsets on Lake Ontario. On clear nights, the city of Toronto is visible. Every night campers would drift down to the field on the lake to watch the sunset. It was the most mesmerizing thing, many different people connecting with this beautiful world.

The cabin we stayed in was comfy for our family of 5 and included a full bathroom with shower. It is still a camping experience so while you have a sink and coffee maker, there is no indoor grill or microwave. Everything was clean. We utilized the outdoor grill and fire pit nightly. Quiet hours were from 10pm-8am I appreciated all of the space in the cabin and strong AC. My only complaint is our mattress was a little hard so it wasn't the best sleep I've had, but overall these are above average accommodations for a camp ground. We enjoyed the accessibility of the site. You could easily walk to all of the amenities. If you are seeking amenities and things to do HTR will have you covered. We enjoyed the pool, mini golf, laser tag, kayak rentals, craft making hours, pedal bikes, and trails during our 4 night stay. All of these activities were included! Our kids had a blast and had something to do all day. The staff were very kind and really made us feel welcome. We loved the location as it was very close to Niagara Falls and restaurants in the surrounding area when we didn't want to cook on the camp grill. Overall, very happy with our visit and would highly recommend if you are looking for a camping experience without the work.

Note-the tent sites didn't offer a ton of privacy, it was kind of open. It was very close to two bathrooms. It was very quiet. We were so impressed upon arrival. Everything was well marked and clean. The general store has a little bit of everything. The staff was helpful and friendly. They offered a lot of family friendly activities. We were there during their harvest festival weekend. They offered hay rides and cider and donuts by their bon fire the first night we were there. Almost all of their activities are included. They charge a fee for their zip lines. They offer free pedal bike usage alongwith boat usage. It is conveniently located to Niagara Falls. They offer late check-in and even check in for folks who don't have a reservation, if they have availability Saturday morning the store opened at 9 AM a little late for us since we were on the road by 845. We were hoping to buy acup of coffee (they have $2 K-cups).

Checking in is easy and you can buy campfire wood and ice from the main office, and they'll even deliver it right to your campsite which was nice because there was no way I was gonna be able to carry 4 bundles of wood ($5 each) on my bike. They do have a nice playground. Not sure if I mentioned that in my first review. This is a good campground for families. The only thing I negative I can say about this place, and it isn't even their fault so I won't deduct any stars, is that there's a dairy farm right across the street from the entrance out on the main road so if the wind blows just right you get that awful ammonia and poop smell throughout the campground.

Even though it was early May, and camping yurts and other things in park, weren't open, hardly anyone at park with it being offseason, we sure did enjoy the exploration of the park. Sadly we didn't check out the light house, as it was closed. The playground replica of the Point Light House was fun to go on, yes, as an adult, Ill admit we both enjoyed letting out our inner child. The nature trails may have been a bit muddy from recent rain, but easy to manage, recommend if you check park out after rain, wear hiking boots, or sneakers you don't mind getting dirty. Perfect for anyone whose a nature lover.

The staff and owners treated us like family in fact invited us to attend their family reunion that was taking place the next evening. We were treated to a bonfire, fireworks and a wonderful Mexican fiesta! The food was crazy good! The pool was crystal clear and so clean , the 35 acres was impeccable and the site they parked us at has sunsets to die for! Well done!! The day we left, 2 other rv's and myself dumped our tanks all in about a 1 1/2hr time span. The septic tanks could not support it causing the septic to overflow into the neighboring camp site. The dumpsters were tucked away on the other side of the campground making it difficult to locate and it was overflowing. Finally, the way some of the spots were layed out was confusing. Some sites have you backing up to the side of another rv. Like a T. Weird. Would not recommend.

Stayed for a few nights. Campground is basic and ok ...strange people driving through late at…read morenight and some homeless looking encampments.....but why in the world would you put a political sign on your main office?? We camp to escape this garbage ...no matter what your views are. I don't look at the news or Facebook or any of that. You're a public business camping is supposed to be fun. Why ??? You ruined the illusion that we were getting away from it all. Not going back. Ever.

The camp ground was clearly still working on getting into shape. I agree with most of the other reviews. Fishing pond was fun but there is no way I would swim in their swimming pond. Mini golf was bad but again we were there early in the season so I am guessing they will work on that. Bathrooms were really clean and the shower were clean also. Everyone was very friendly and there was no noise at night. We paid $35ish for tent camping and fire wood was $7. Overall a bit expensive for what you get (resulted loss of another star). Not sure we would go back. Might try give it another chance in prime season to see how things improve, if so I will check back in.

This place is THE BEST place to rent kayaks/canoes on the Erie Canal. The chute entrance into the canal is suited for anyone - but especially useful for elders or those with mobility issues. But the best part of Erie Canal Boat Company in Fairport is the owner Pete. He wants everyone to love boating and get the best experience possible. First he has and knows everything about the equipment and will get you perfectly situated for what you need to have an amazing time out on the water. What really shines is his personality though... Pete is a giver and is generous with his time, expertise and enthusiasm for paddling. He not only runs the shop, but helps get you in and out of the boat and safely in and out of the canal. He loves what he does and he loves helping you get out and enjoying the canal. His enthusiasm is contagious. He is simply THE BEST!!! We had the best time this morning and can't wait to spend many days this summer out on the water with Pete's help. Just be brave and go. It's the most wonderful feeling!

We rented a tandem kayak from 5pm to 7pm (we finished up at about 6:20 because it started raining)…read more The water was not crowded at all; there were two boats that passed by us. The water was clean in some parts and not in others. There were a few large branches we had to avoid. We got a quick good lesson on kayaking before we went into the water; it was very helpful. Our kayaking journey was absolutely beautiful. We passed a whole lot of ducks. They really kept us entertained. We passed a cute park, went through some gorgeous neighborhoods. Overall, there were a lot of trees on the shore by the canal so it felt very serene. I would recommend kayaking here! :)
