Four Mile Creek State Park, New York I found this campground on Https://parks.ny,gov as I was planning a trip, a lifelong goal, to see Niagara Falls. I chose Four Mile Creek State Park for its proximity to the Falls, and nearby attractions like Fort Niagara, an Aquarium, the Niagara Power Vista, and the Underground Railroad Heritage Center, to name a few. This camp offers a shuttle service to these places, no need to worry about parking! I was welcomed by a cheerful office staff and given a map for the Niagara Falls State Park. I went to my site 13, it was nicely shaded and I had access to 30amp service and water a few sites away. The bathrooms & showers were clean and had access to washer/dryer. I met lots of nice people and the weather was great. (6/1 to 6/8) Every member of staff I encountered was friendly and accommodating. Shout out to maintenance staff, Mike, the shuttle driver and Tim, manning the Camp Store. In fact, Tim even circulates the campground every night after the store is closed with ice & firewood. I visited the Falls, walking all over the American side then walked across the bridge to Canada for lunch observing the Canadian side of the Falls. But my favorite thing about this whole journey was the sunsets on Lake Ontario. On clear nights, the city of Toronto is visible. Every night campers would drift down to the field on the lake to watch the sunset. It was the most mesmerizing thing, many different people connecting with this beautiful world. read more

Not a bad camp ground. Large sites but also crammed close together. We did have mostly quiet people around us aside of one dog who wouldn't shut up. On the weekend there was also some kind of party from an inconsiderate group that went halfway through the night. I got to sleep with some white noise in the tent but I would've been livid if I was in a site next to those people. Firewood is expensive here at $10/bundle. Most people don't camp here for the park itself though but rather as a place to stay while going to Niagara. It is conveniently located to things nearby, and camping there also gets you free parking in all the nearby parks. read more

Family trip started off nice until a soccer group came in Thursday till Sunday. A man publicly urinating at 9am, teenagers running around yelling well past midnight, 2 preteen girls running around our tent (broad daylight) & started kicking the tent & AC tubing, parents partying again past midnight while ranger does drive through at 11:45pm & did nothing, bathrooms trashed. I called the office Monday & was told she knew the group & they are "entitled". I was assured the supervisor would call me back - shocker, no returned phone call. DON'T BOOK IF IT'S A TOURNAMENT WEEKEND AT OLD FORT NIAGARA!! read more

The staff here are amazing. I was greeted by three women at the front desk and ALL of them were incredible kind, helpful, funny, personable. I met the manager as well who made it clear that her staff have taken on her professionalism. On top of that the park is immaculate, peaceful and perfectly located to those looking to get the most out of Niagara. They even have transportation to the Niagara State Park. A very nice camping ground near Lake Ontario. Stand along the lake, you could see Toronto on the other side. The bathroom is clean. Hot showers work well. It's not crowed. Very relaxing. When you set up your tent, watch out to avoid directly under the cherry trees. Because the ripe cherry may fall on your tent and on your table to make a mess, though they are really sweet delicious. read more

With the amount of times I have been camping, I am shocked I just discovered this place. The campground is huge! Lots of sights for every kind of camper/tenter. There is a beautiful playground for the children. And lots of room for walks. The sights have a good distance or trees in between for privacy. The water front sights aren't exactly on the water but they do have a great view. Only complain is there was an infestation of skunks! But of course that's not the park's fault. We stayed here over last Labor Day Weekend. This is our first year camping, and was our first time at Four Mile Creek State Park. This park is on the shores of Lake Ontario, not far from the villages of Youngstown, Lewiston, or the sights in Niagara Falls. If you're in town to see the sites, this is a convenient location to camp. We were on electric site #6. It was a good-sized level site with a gravel pad and mostly grassy. Not a lot of shade, but we snagged what was left for the holiday weekend and gratefully took what we could get. Our site was not right on the water, but all of the sites are close to the water. Waterfront sites have gorgeous views, but it will be windier than being nearer to the park entrance. The bathhouse close to our site was pretty nice for campground facilities. The bathroom building seemed original, but looked like it had a bit of a face lift recently. The showers were a nice size. When I was strolling around the park to check out the lay of the land, I popped into the other bathrooms. They were all as nicely kept, and had some updates too. The park is right on the lake, but doesn't have any guarded swimming areas. (There is swimming not far from here at Wilson-Tuscarora State Park beach, or Old Fort Niagara State Park has a pool; both will be free admission with your state park pass from Four Mile.) There is beach access to stroll the shore or cast a line. The park does have a nice playground, and handy small camp store. Plenty of open field space to throw or kick a ball around, too. They also had a few scheduled family activities. Our son had fun on the bug hunt, and got a cool badge after he found all of the gross things. :-P All in all, our fam' had a great time camping at Four Mile Creek State Park. This is pretty close to home for us, so a nice option for both a quick trip or a longer stay. We look forward to coming back to this campgrounds in the future. read more

What a beautiful park. We stayed here for one night in a tent. We had a beautiful view of the water. It was so peaceful. They have a great playground if you want to bring the kiddos. The woman who runs the camp store is so super nice. We enjoyed buying candles to bring home as gifts and special muffins for breakfast. They open at 9 and have coffee! read more

We chose to stay at Four Mile Creek for its proximity to Niagara Falls- about 20 mins. We also checked out Fort Niagara and swam at the pool there, highly recommend both. The views down at the beach are amazing. It is a rock beach so bring water shoes- they technically don't allow swimming. My son also caught some fish in the pond behind the beach. The kids loved the playgrounds and found lots of new friends. The camp store is not open Mondays and tuesdays so we had to make sure to get enough ice and firewood. My only other complaint is the skunks. As soon as the sun was about to sink behind the horizon a skunk came to visit our campsite every night. Coming within feet of us at our campfire. A little unnerving! But we flashed bright lights at it and it would run away, sometimes coming back again and again. Even after we put away all food and trash. Overall I would stay here again! read more

Amazing views at this park of Lake Ontario and ability to see the sunset from many sites! The main bath house had really good showers! I NEVER shower in bathhouses because we have an RV shower but here they were so nice I took a shower each day we were here! Big, nice tile, doors instead of a curtain and hot water! Most of the sites were level but we had a site we moved to because I didn't book a site with electric. Site 214 -- it wasn't level. Many sites on that side are down a little slope. They are double though. The playground were nice for our daughter. If you stay here, you get FREE entry into all state parks including Niagara Falls and Goat Island! Such a nice perk! The road to get to this state park sucks beware! read more

We spent a week here this summer and really enjoyed it. We stayed in a 30-amp site with our Class-A motorhome. Our site was not ideal for our rig, as leveling it was only possible by raising the front wheels six inches off the ground. But there are many positives: The rates are reasonable. The location is convenient. The facilities are well-maintained. There is a camp store that's well-stocked and reasonably priced. Cons that self-contained RV'ers need to be aware of: - There is no water hookup at any of the RV sites, so make sure your tanks are full before settling in. - There are no sewer hookups at the sites, but there are many of them in the campground, so plan on dumping before and after your stay. The campground is on the shore of Lake Ontario, and there are many trails for hiking and mountain biking, dog walking, etc. I enjoyed our stay here and hope to make a return trip next summer. read more

I stayed here a few days ago so that I could visit Niagra Falls. As a young solo female traveler, it was really important to me that I stayed in a place that made me feel safe. I loved it here and I was very excited when they put me on a tent site (#164 to be exact) where you could see Lake Ontario as soon as you climbed out of the tent. It's a very family-oriented campground. I stayed two nights in the middle of the week so the campground was only half booked and the two places next to me were vacant. Even if every lot was booked, it's still very spacious. Most sites had a tree nearby for shelter from the elements. Four Mile Creek is a big campground and has a few different bathroom facility buildings. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were spacious and had warm water, as well as benches to put your things on. It took me about 20 minutes to drive to Niagara Falls State Park and about a 10-minute drive to Fort Niagara. The staff was super friendly and helpful with all my questions. I highly recommend this place and the fact that it's right on the lake makes it really special. read more

Wanted to get away for a few days and decided to go camping. Found this place and saw it wasn't too far from Niagara Falls. Really pretty camp group and really nice people that work there. The layout was really easy to follow. They had a really nice playground for kids and a lot of open green where you can get a group of people and play football, ultimate frisbee, soccer, volleyball, softball. I highly recommend camping here if you are looking for a great place to get away. Loved the view of the lake and how you can see Canada from a distance. The weather was beautiful so thankful I got to get out of the house for a few days. Definitely looking forward to going back and making more memories. read more

INFO ON YURT BELOW*** We stayed at four mile for the first time this summer in one of their yurts. It was comfortable for my family and was very relaxing. The yurt had an air conditioning unit in the wall, 3 bunk beds, 2 small dressers, newish and clean microwave, large table with bench style seating, fridge (half the size vertically of a normal fridge and freezer on top). The porch outside was spacious with a ramp and stairs. The yard had a picnic table and a fire pit with an attachment to cook food on...*no stand up grill available*. The larger playground and the bathrooms were not too far of a walk but at night we used the car when needed since there's no lighting on the way there unless you have a flashlight (with my small children I felt safer in the car than walking at night due to critters and wild life). The sunsets were BEAUTIFUL! Your not able to actually touch the water since where you stand at the campground is at sort of a cliff. Very close to fort Niagara pool which was very clean and you get FREE parking while camping at four mile with the parking pass that you receive. My children had a very fun time and we definitely go back! read more

Very impressed with this campsite! The location is very good and the campsite is clean and very well maintained. There are bathrooms scattered throughout the campsite with showers. The best part is that there are waterfront campsites (limited) and most of the sites have electric hook up. The views of the lake are gorgeous and the sunsets are AMAZING! Definitely grab a chair and go out and watch the sunset with a distant view of Toronto and sailboats calmly floating on the water. There are also trails and secret rustic beaches to be discovered. Will definitely be returning next year and many more years to come read more

we went to Niagara Falls and stayed 2 nights here.the 1st night is on Sunday maybe 8 of 10 of the campsites is occupied. We stayed at #161,fortunately 159 and 163 are vacant .That is good for us, Although there is quite enough room for each campsite. on Monday the campsite is almost empty,I don't know that is because it is Monday or because that night there would be a heavy rain .Since my T-mobile almost does not have signal there so I have not notice in advanced that night would be a rain night. Pro:clean bathroom and showers.Very clean. the shower water is very warm. almost every site has shelter. there is a playground and since the lake ontario is just besides you your kids would have a fun time if you take them. Ranger drives around now and then to make sure everything is OK. the lake ontario is just a few yard from your campsite. read more

Great campground!!! It was located close to everything we wanted to see and yet far enough away to be out in nature! Had showers-washer and dryer and huge 2compartment sink. This was unexpected for us. We often do rough it...so this made it so nice no packing water for cooking of cleaning and did not have to worry about having clothes to wash when we got home from our trip....THANKS!!!!
