After three wineries, my husband was definitely ready for some food. When you walk in, you definitely feel like you're entering an English pub! The bar, and place, ent of the bar was very traditional to pubs in the UK. Our server Lawerence definitely helped with his English accent! When asked where he was from, he said Bristol! He came to Canada after her sister relocated. He originally was a cook, but given his accent, they asked hi. To move to the front! Well done. He was a great server too! Very friendly! We decided to share the sausage rolls and shepherds pie. My husband had two Guinness! I'm not sure where he put it in top of the wine, but glad I was driving. The sausage rolls were very tasty. The mustard that came for dipping was the perfect accompaniment. The shepherd's pie had a dark Guinness gravy that was rich and flavorful. I enjoyed the side of peas and carrots too! Sharing these two was the perfect amount, however we wished we'd got the poutine! It looked amazing, it would've been too much food though. Guess we will need to return! PS: loved seeing the sign for Upper Canada Brewing company! In 1988, I visited them with my college partner as we did a college paper on microbrewers! At that time, they were one of a few. We also had visited Great Lakes brewing in CLE! The microbrewing industry exploded shortly there after! Was a great personal walk down memory lane for my college days!! While Upper Canada was sold, was just excellent to see an old sign!

After leaving, we realized we had forgotten a garment bag, and our friends had also left a few personal items behind. I want to extend a sincere thank-you to Debbie at the front desk for being so accommodating and attentive. She secured everything for us immediately and kept our belongings safe until we could arrange to pick them up. We weren't looking for a Ritz-Carlton experience -- just a quiet, clean, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay. This hotel delivered exactly that. What truly stood out was the atmosphere: not pretentious or overly polished, but warm, down-to-earth, and genuinely kind. Debbie exemplified that energy perfectly. Thank you for the hospitality and for making our quick stay feel easy and pleasant. We really appreciate it and look forward to returning.

The window air conditioner had leaked on the floor and there were towels sopping up the dirty water. Patrick at the desk was very helpful trying to find us a new room. Apparently the only room in their whole system that was available was a much smaller room in the Moffat. We took the room, and they did give us a complementary bottle of wine and 50.00 off for our inconvenience. The room was not very nice. Pictures of the hallway and room attached . We did enjoy a nice breakfast with Frank serving us at the Prince of Wales. All in all very disappointing.

This then, is probably a good way to wean yourself into giving it a go. Above The Pub (so named as it's found above a really good pub (http://www.yelp.ca/biz/the-irish-harp-niagara-on-the-lake)) is a true inn with a pub below and rooms above. The décor of the rooms feels very Colonial and is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway into the wine region. The proximity to the pub you'd think is daunting but the amount of noise bleed from the pub into the rooms is minimal if noticeable. The beds are of the four-poster variety, comfy and definitely sleep-ready. As well, breakfast is included at a golf course that is found a short walk from the inn. Ladies, if you've been looking for a weekend getaway into the Niagara wine region with your significant other, you could do worse than suggest a place that is above a pub for him. Guys, if you're ever in the dog house, the four-poster bed and the rustic décor will probably help pry you out.

We love that there is free parking and can leave the car there almost the whole time and just walk or bike everywhere (the bike rental place is in walking distance). The staff is hospitable and make you feel right at home and we always use the vouchers they give us for our first meal after arriving-another nice touch! We can easily say this will be the place we stay when we visit for years to come!

I wished I lived closer so I could come here every month!…read more What a wonderful spa in the heart of Niagara on the Lake. My bf and I had a little spa day here. His first time! I'm glad this was his first experience, as this is what he has future spas to compare to lol. Check-in was super easy and fast. We were guided to the change rooms. We came on a Thursday afternoon, so it wasn't too busy. I mostly had the change rooms to myself. Inside the lounge is dim, with soft music it's perfectly relaxing. The lounge offers a great selection of teas. Lemon ginger is my favourite, which they had. They also have espresso pods. Of course they have some spa water, which was super refreshing. The main thing that surprised me was the selection of snacks they had! I've never been to a spa where they had basically unlimited snacks in the lounge. They had granola, cookies, brownies, biscottis and more. My bf received a 30 min massage, which focused on one area and I had a 60 min massage. My masseuse was friendly and very knowledgeable. I would have appreciated a deeper pressure on my legs and arms but the duration on these areas, was so short (as requested) I barely thought to even let her know I'd would like her to go deeper. I did let her know in the beginning though, that I do like a firm and deep pressure. Overall, she was just ok. The experience was still relaxing and she did loosen my neck and shoulders, which is what I was there for mainly. I so so appreciate that she used a hot towel to remove the oil on my back and the back of my legs. I love when spas do this. But I wished she had also done this after she worked the front of my legs and arms. There was so much oil on these areas, it would have been nice to have something to wipe it off. I did end up using the shower, since the oil really bothered me. The showers are spacious and I like that there's an area inside the shower to keep your belongings. I love the fact that they use loccetaine products. The scent they use is so nice. They also provide mouth wash, q-tips, cotton pads, hair ties, combs, plastic bags, tampons and a hair dryer. Check the drawers for the hair ties, combs and tampons. I wish I had checked these earlier cuz I really needed a hair tie lol. Oh and they also provide robes, sandals and towels. A wonderful experience from start to end. I think it also helped that the spa wasn't too busy that day. I'm excited to come back and try more services. Maybe even the hydrotherapy!

There's also a common area on the top floor with a selection of movies, books, and magazines! The room was very clean: ours had a pull out bed and a regular bed. Room has a Keurig, a fridge with water and juice, and the bathroom has nice smelling, natural soaps and shampoo. Breakfast is nice as well! There is a selection of bread, croissants, tea biscuits, etc. There are also gluten free options which is good. There's also plates of fresh fruit as well as cheese, sliced meats, yogurt, and granola bars. Very close to shops and restaurants, they are within a 10 minute walking distance. Main complaint is not enough parking. While you can fit all the cars onto the property, if you are boxed in by other cars then you will need to ask the person to move their cars so you can leave.
