Good prices, small town cafe, friendly service, feels like family. When we got there, there wasn't an empty table. A stranger (but probably a frequent diner) let us join her at her table. The food is good and inexpensive. Breakfast is delicious- love the biscuits and gravy! Coffee is free with a breakfast order (over $1.95). Prices are not inflated, are very reasonable, even for a family. I like the decorative Native American paintings and ornaments. A great place to meet the locals. read more

Saw this place driving into town wanted to give it a shot. Feels like you stepped into a hometown diner from the 60's. This hidden away gem is a throwback to the original family owned restaurant. Makes sense since the restaurant has been there close to 100 years. Menu is full of comfort foods. We had breakfast and the price was unbelievably low considering prices everywhere else have gone up. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this place. read more

Only went there because our chosen spot was closed. Food just average or less. Doesn't feel like it's had a deep cleaning in a while. The salad was just iceberg lettuce and dressing. The vegetables were straight out of a can and not even seasoned--very bland. read more

They have a cheap Sunday breakfast special of chicken fried steak, which we loved! We've never been here before and highly recommend coming here to enjoy their friendly atmosphere and great food for cheap. Easy to find place has off street parking which is crowded at times. Good choices for dining. Breakfast anytime.

I reviewed this place several years ago and it has just gone downhill over the years. Most everything is heat and serve, very little real cooking going on. They can't get hashbrowns right, they pre-cook a lot of bacon and I understand that, but unless you ask them to heat it back up they serve it cold and greasy. Most wait staff are really nice but the building is falling apart and the cooking is sub-standard. At this point the place survives off of nostalgia and lack of competition. read more

We rolled into Arkansas City one evening after a day of storm chasing. This was one of the only non-chain places that was open for dinner. You feel like you've been transported back into the 1950's when you step inside, thanks to the decor! It was filled with people who were mainly over 70 years old eating dinner. It was a cute little place with friendly service. The prices were very cheap which was great! I ordered a reuben sandwich. Best one I've ever had! We came here today after church. Granted they were super busy, but we waited FOREVER for our food. From the time we were seated until our food came was an hour. I seriously thought I might pass out because of hunger. My food I did not like. A scoop of chicken salad on top of some lettuce. Ice burg lettuce with some tasteless wedge tomatoes and a hard boiled egg halved. That's it. The chicken salad was pretty tasteless and had too much pickle relish in it. I figured it was pre made but there was a bone in it so I'm not sure. My family said their food was ok. Overall it was not worth the wait, and our waitress was a little on the gripey side. This place is a mom and pop shop type cafe. Prices are cheap and the amount of food you get is a lot. It's clean and has a nice atmosphere. The steak was cooked and marinated to perfection.
