From the moment I walked in, I was treated like a VIP, with fresh tea kept at the ready. There was never any sense of being rushed, even through the nail color selection, which can take me quite some time! Special nail effects, chrome, cat's eye, gems and all the rest, are all readily available and professionally done as well. Prices are very reasonable, allowing me to have a regular monthly mani/pedi. Total bonus! Parking is not an issue, as it's in a large mall and they accept walk-ins as well as appointments. Give them a try. After Nancy confirmed my appointment she harshly said, "and don't be late otherwise I won't be able to see you until 1:30 ". Her comment stunned me because I had not been late in many months. Over the years I thought Nancy did not like me because no matter how much I said hello, tried to make conversation and gave good tips she was very serious, hardly acknowledged me when I came in she never wished me a nice day or thanked me for a tip. She shows no basic customer service in politeness. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt because I did like how my nails were done, but yesterday I read through other reviews where others were treated rudely by Nancy. Other customers also said Smile Nail employees would call them if they are even 1 minute late for their appointment threatening to give their appointment away. I had the same experience. Then I would walk in the salon and no one would even be there, they weren't even that busy. Frankly, those phone calls made me feel a bit harassed but I let it slide and tried to remain a loyal customer. Other times if I asked for my mani pedi to be done separate, Nancy would get upset and say, " I'already told you before, you have to request that ahead of time, as if its my fault for not keeping track of all her rules. " It's rude and I don't need to be chastised like a child, especially in front of other customers. I pay too much money and give nice tips to be treated so harshly. They are losing workers and recently I have noticed they only have one other guy still working with them. Lin is friendly and gives good pedicures. She recently complained to me that no one wants to work for them. Perhaps if they created a kinder environment others would want to continue working there. I ended up calling back a couple hours later and just cancelling my appointment. I will no longer be going to Smile Nails or recommending them. I hope they stop and read these comments and work harder on their attitude.

For the manicure, you can also get one with or without a massage, but I always like to recommend a massage as it is quite relaxing. If you have a reference idea for the nails that you want, you could always show it to them and talk through what they can do to achieve the look. I definitely recommend calling or booking online as they can sometimes get very busy and are not always able to accommodate walk-ins. With that being said if you are in the area, I do recommend just stopping in and seeing whether or not they have an opening if they do not then they will surely try to book you in for a time that works. They also have a stamp card for services over $50 so that is always a plus and perk for loyal customers.

The colour I originally picked turned out to be lighter than the sample, and after doing one nail, she pointed it out to me and went and got another colour she recommended; I agreed and she went ahead with the new shade, and it turned out to be a perfect match for what I had originally wanted. I was happy she made the suggestion since I know some nail technicians just stay quiet and do what you've asked without question. The pricing is great, and the cheapest I've paid in a long time. It's two weeks passed and my nails are growing out great without any chips. One thing I noticed was that over at their pedicure section, the tubs all had plastic liners - I had read somewhere this is actually extremely hygienic and something that should be done more widely. I'm excited to have found a nice nail place in my area, since I've tried a few in the past that were either too expensive or didn't hold up. I'd definitely recommend this place to others.
