High end stereo system culture can certainly be intimidating but you don't have to be an expert or understand the science of how sound is literally transferred etc. to enjoy, your ears will tell you most if you just simply listen intently. Don Better Audio has a low-key approach to serving his clients. You come over his studio on the east side of Cleveland (bring a few of your favorite records, CDs, etc.). Have an idea of what you want to acquire and spend, in terms of budget and sound quality. Don will sit with you and consult on what he can offer you and then he will actually play for you various items (speakers, record players, amps, etc) which could serve your ears and music listening needs. Once you decide on what you want, Don will invoice you and order the equipment from his suppliers. I was so new and green I asked Don to bring the equipment to my home and set it all up for me (he did bring it over and set it all up in my home in about an hour's time once all the equipment I ordered was delivered to his store). Total time from committing to buy to having it all in my home was just over 1 week. In the world of high end audio systems, dropping over 6 figures is entirely possible if money is no object. Myself, I had a somewhat humble budget and I had been saving and waiting years to finally get my high end audio starter set. The hardest part of it all was finding someone I could trust who could show me the ropes and offer me hi fi stereo equipment that fit my budget with good bang for the buck. Don Better Audio did all that for me. All in I spent some $4.5k for my new high end sounding rig ( worth every penny as I plan on enjoying this for yrs to decades). Brought my music loving Dad over to hear it, he was blown away by the separation of instruments, voices, etc. whilst listening to the music on my new rig. Great excuse to have fellow music lovers over to enjoy tunes together. I…read moresuppose, I looked the other way with their judgement because its a dying thing locally, but that was "whatever" because they are local, had a decent selection, okay price on used items, and would help and find things they didn't have in store; but the last time I came they seemed annoyed at my album choice, used items had considerably increased and I was deemed unworthy for not knowing their promo day . When I went to pick up a order I was bothering them, trying to give them money, and they went against their written policy about loyaltly cards, treating me as though I couldn't read and my money wasn't hard earned. Seems to I need to travel further for my albums or just buy online...

I didn't tear the plastic off of the album as it was a Christmas present. Imagine my son's and my disappointment when he opened the plastic and we discovered we didn't get what I ordered. The album was the correct album but the album was not the exclusive color I ordered. The company is refusing to give a full refund because they have a thirty day policy on returns. It's was pretty apparent to me, based on emails between my son and the company, the company doesn't care about great customer service or the fact that this was their mistake.

I stopped taking my guitars to others shops regionally, that where endorsed by nationally high level players for setup. Yea...they where good but... John's setup was always a step above. John has has been able to give me back semi-playable so-sos, to a silky smooth sweetheart that I have a hard time parting with, even it not top of the line. Now my grandsons and step-son have requested some of my guitars to learn on. I learned on poor quality stock setup. I wanted to quit until I felt instrument setup correctly...and then I was hooked. I want them to know what a good guitar setup feels like versus factory milktoast setup, so that they want to keep on playing and upgrading to their playing style/level. Wadsworth Music facilities that path with both the service and the inventory selection to upgrade when needed. They seem to have heavy support for the local high school band members as well, which I tend to hold dear. (Sry...bias from being HS band member in my days. Would love a high & tight rudimentary snare drum, or 3 valve B-flat marching baritone if I could still blow solo blues. Alas, those days gone. Low-energy guitars will have to suffice.)

He was extremely knowledgeable and took his time to achieve the best possible sound in my room. I was floored at how much better the speakers sounded after his consultation. Soundstage is much wider and the bass energy more controlled. Time alignment of highs was improved after he recommended the taller spikes for the upper module. Listening now with a glass of scotch and a big smile on my face.
