I've been a client of Dr. Dale's for many years. Initially, I was referred to him following several misdiagnosed gastric issues by a PHP and three ER doctors. Each of them minimized my symptoms with little to no concern regarding my pain level, despite having NO history of pain or pain management. Dr. Dale took one look at my extensive file and named what the condition was (rare infection), ordered a colonoscopy and found a potentially life ending intestinal blockage - one that was not seen by THREE clinicians prior. Dr. Prokupek saved my life and I've been seeing him for years. Now that he has moved into aesthetics as well, I can't say enough except that my friends, family and work colleagues always comment on the quality of my skin and lack of sun damage. Initially seemed pleasant, but my experience here was disappointing. The appointments were extremely brief - I timed one at under 4 minutes. The one time I tried to ask questions about my treatment, the doctor became dismissive and seemed irritated. And then to discover this practice offers Botox and filler treatments/aesthetic treatments and runs an ADHD clinic - that's quite a range of unrelated specialties under one roof. This raised questions for me about focus on my actual healthcare. I strongly recommend carefully reviewing all insurance claims after visits here - as with any insurance. I noticed several charges that seemed excessive for the minimal time spent on my care. The rushed appointments and defensive attitude when questioned left me feeling like just another number rather than a patient. I ended up seeking care elsewhere and found a much better experience with a specialist who actually takes time to listen and address any issues. Would not recommend - there are better Gastroenterologists in Los Angeles who will give you the time and attention you deserve. read more

Dale was my doctor for several years pre-pandemic and regularly wrote my prescriptions with no problem. When I returned to start up my medications again, which had lapsed, he could not write the RX until talking to another doctor I had seen about 6 months ago but was not treating me for the two conditions Dr. Dale was. That took two months, with my calling weekly for updates. Then, I was told he spoke to the other doctor but was now on vacation. Finally, today I call again, and the assistant says Nope, he says he won't take over these scripts. How is he "taking them over" if he gave them to me numerous times in the past and also he was the only doctor giving them to me? BS, and wasted 2 months of my time, and irresponsible patient care. Receptionist called 19 minutes prior to my appointment and addressed that "if you can not come earlier than 12:15 your appointment time we can't see you today so we need to reschedule." And when I asked the reason and receptionist says "because our lunch hours..." Then I asked "why you guys let me to book on 12:15?" Then she goes "oh I don't know". BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!! if you are CARE about your well being then I suggest finding a real GI doctor that will take you and your Health SERIOUSLY. The assistant nurse will stay in the room with you and the doctor the entire time, so be prepared for no privacy. The doctor gets easily annoyed if you can't formulate a proper description of the symptoms  you are experiencing. Dale Prokupek will mock and condescend you.  The entire time I was trying to explain my symptoms only to be cut off by him saying. "Wait! But you just said this and that! I don't understand." In my opinion, this doctor discriminates... they take Blue Shield of California PPO, silver... if purchased from Blue Shield. If you have the exact same plan, through Covered California, they will not accept your insurance. This is the definition of discrimination... the entire purpose of the CC system is to offer subsidized insurance... not different insurance. By not taking customers from a group, based on their financial resources is discriminatory. There is no difference in insurance payments... just that the customers are lower income. It's disgraceful that the office manager said "I'm sorry you FEEL that way"... facts are not FEELINGS... taking the exact same silver PPO plan - when not through COVERED CALIFORNIA- is not treating people equally. I find the office disorganized and unprofessional. I have waited 3 weeks to get a CT scan and then finally get the results sent to Dr. Prokupek and no one is available to get me the results. I was lied to by Emma, I was told the medical assistant would call me back with in 10 min but I never received that call as promised. they now force all my calls to voicemail they will not except my calls as I have asked them to contact the doctor and they refuse . Dr. Prokupek had the results yesterday afternoon and knew he would be out of the office today and chose not to give me those results and just left for the day. What a disgrace they are leaving their patient in pain and untreated. in my opinion I would not recommend this office to anyone the more interested in doing the cosmetics end of the practice then they are the Gastro end. This was my first appointment with Dr. Prokupek, he has been one of the best specialist I have had. The office was comfortable, patients did not wait / sit together in the waiting area, considering Covid19 is one more thing we have to worry about. Front desk and nurses were really helpful and kind. Dr. Prokupek had taken his time to listen to my concerns and/or symptoms and his questions were helpful for me to focus on the issue, even when I forgot some details. What I really like was the thinking process: it is hard to explain, but you'd see during an appointment; he is NOT just nodding or taking notes, but he really is processing the information you have given; so he could either come up with other question(s), possible solutions, diagnostics: a plan. It is not a delightful topic to discuss digestive system with a complete stranger, but he made it somewhat easier. Only negative experience was that I was supposed to take Covid test before my colonoscopy but when I asked the test everybody was already left for the lunch.
