YES, releasing patients is a thing, typically VERY rare in the industry due to the downstream impacts of abandoning patients, but 3 in 3 years, clearly not for this practice, and 2 PA's too in that time? One has to ask what the heck is going on over there?! Why are they having so much trouble keeping doctors AND patients? What is the common denominator? Say it with me....POOR MANAGEMENT! There is much more I have to say on this subject but need to refrain in this forum. I will say to anyone else in this situation, it isn't right, and don't be bullied with what appears to be iron clad paperwork...

Despite proper notice, I was charged a $100 cancellation fee for an appointment I never attended. The charge is unjustified and not a medical service fee. I was on short-term disability and needed to meet my physician to complete insurer-required paperwork. I've since received repeated past-due notices and payment demands for this disputed amount. The clinic also sent notice that they will not accept partial payments, raising concerns about unfair billing practices. When I raised my concerns in writing and advised that I intended to file a complaint, I received a text message from the office manager, Dr. Gruber, accusing me of being "threatening." As an African American woman, I found this characterizes my professionalism unfairly and offensively. I am requesting: Removal of the $100 charge. Written confirmation that no further billing or collection attempts will occur. I have pursued this through the BBB, the Department of Consumer Affairs, and other consumer protection channels. This complaint is to show their unfair billing, poor communication, and discriminatory treatment.

Unfortunately, the billing department provides poor service. I have twice been charged during a well visit for services that have been previously mentioned in other appointments. When I spoke to the billing department they said that I could not discuss anything that was a new illness during a well check up. I told them that I did not do this and they said that I must have brought up things other than what was allowed during my well checkup. I called Blue Cross and they told me that the office was improperly coding the visit and this should not have occurred. I will not be going to Village Family Care anymore or any Novant affiliated office.

Everyone at their office is very positive and friendly, and Dr. Bill is one of the most ethical, genuine and kind physicians I've ever had the pleasure meeting. I must admit, I was initially skeptical about the benefits of Chiropractic, but after a knee injury I met with Dr. Bill and discussed not only my pains, but also my concerns regarding receiving real benefits of this type treatment. Well, after being a patient of his for over ten years, I can tell you the benefits are amazing!! I don't need to see him weekly or monthly, but when I have an issue, he set's up two or three appointments to get the problem resolved and (when needed) recommends outside activities, like icing, certain stretches or exercises, or laser light therapy to advance and accelerate the healing process with soft tissue injuries. My claustrophobia and recalls on CPAP is why I'm being treated via a mandible device for my sleep apnea. The process was relatively easy. He made cast of my upper and lower teeth. The impressions are then used in lab to construct my custom mouth piece that pushes my jaw forward to prevent my tongue obstructing my breathing and snoring. I was lucky my device came back within 3 weeks. His staff called me in for instructions they are very helpful and friendly. He explained how to adjust the device which has a tiny key that can push your jaw further out or inward. My device came in a nice dental case for storage and cleaning it is a snap. It gets brushed and cleaned as my own teeth then dry it store until bedtime. He also made me a retainer to wear in the mornings after removing my device. I practiced inserting device with Dr until I was confident. Now I wasn't sure id feel any relief or get any sleep with this but boy was I pleased. Dr had told me that I have a large tongue which is why I have obstructive sleep apnea. Id tried several over the counter sleep guards and tongue devices to no relief. My 1st night I was convinced omg it keeps me from grinding or locking my jaws so much when my mind is racing or can't sleep. It so helps my TMJ pain already the next morning I awoke feeling that I actually got gd rest and wasn't so tired. Dr Alonso and I discussed getting the approval to add Botox injections into my TMJ areas to help with pain as well. He also suggested trying Voltaren gel on my jaw at night which is helping. If you have sleep apnea and have insurance ask your Dr are you a candidate. Its something I wish I had years ago. After a few months I will have new sleep study while wearing device to check if its helping my sleep apnea while the monitoring is happening. BUENOS NOCHES!

He kept having me come back all the time not making me better until I finally put a stop to it. When one is in chronic pain you will do almost anything to get out of it. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I tried to complain to the practice manager about the exorbitant prices. I also talked to Duke patient advocacy about Dr Park's promises and the cost. For months I tried to get a phone call back from them. When I finally did they did nothing. This was a complete waste of money and to me very unprofessional. Again I felt very taken advantage of. I guess Duke thinks they can charge so much because they're Duke!

I've probably seen over 15 psychiatrists in my life and Greg is at the top of the list. I felt so incredibly heard during my first session with him. He took the time to ask questions about me and my backstory and wanted to know medications I've tried in the past. He genuinely seemed to care and to want to connect. For that, I am so thankful. But even beyond that, he listened to my needs regarding the medications that I do want to continue and my goals for discontinuing some. He wasn't like a traditional psychiatrist that just wants to keep pushing more and more meds. He listened to my concerns and seemed to genuinely be in agreement about my plans going forward. Knowing the complexity of my many chronic health conditions and my long medication list, it would be important to me and the staff if I bring my detailed medication list, so I emphasized, many times to make sure my property arrives to my room with me, yet, it was lost for 24 hours hours. During that time, after a complex spinal surgery, I wasn't given my correct medications, or the correct doses at the correct times, which happens frequently when I'm hospitalized, not only at Rex. Once it was found, after I complained to Patients Relations, the head of security came, but for reasons I still don't know. He did a good job explaining how the security process was supposed to work, but he didn't explain how my property got missing. especially, after me emphasizing it's importance to my hospital stay. It was as if he couldn't realize the procedure wasn't relevant. What's relevant is what actually happened and why. His explanation was the most incompetent, unprofessional, and unethical explanation imaginable. His staff members were sleep so he, evidently, didn't think that losing my property was worth waking up his staff members, who knew the details of what happened.
