I Left With a Punctured Lung and Little Accountability... Please read before you seek care there…read more I underwent what I believed were routine trigger point injections, and what followed was one of the most frightening medical experiences of my life. Immediately after the procedure, I developed symptoms that ultimately led to the diagnosis of a punctured lung (pneumothorax). I required emergency treatment, hospitalization, and placement of a chest tube. I experienced significant pain, difficulty taking deep breaths, missed work, and weeks of recovery from an injury that never should have occurred during what was presented as a relatively straightforward procedure. What has been equally disappointing is how the practice handled the situation afterward. Rather than accepting meaningful responsibility or attempting to make things right, I received what amounted to an apology accompanied by statements that the procedure was performed within the standard of care. Their position was essentially that complications can happen, and therefore no further action was warranted. In my case, I was never informed that a punctured lung was a risk of the trigger point injections I received. Had I understood that risk, I would have asked additional questions before consenting. Patients deserve informed consent that is specific to the procedure actually being performed. While the practice stated they reviewed my case and even identified opportunities to improve their documentation and procedural processes, those acknowledgments have done nothing to address the physical pain, emotional distress, lost income, and disruption this complication caused. Mistakes and complications can occur in medicine. What defines a practice is how it responds when they do. I expected accountability, transparency, and a sincere effort to resolve the situation fairly. Instead, I was left feeling that protecting the practice was more important than caring for the patient who was harmed. I hope future patients never experience what I did, and I hope the practice follows through on whatever changes they identified during their internal review. My experience, however, left me deeply disappointed and without confidence that patients are truly supported when serious complications occur.

After my consultation, I decided to move forward with the one-week in-person Intensive, which cost $6,000, because I was desperately seeking help for persistent post-concussion symptoms following a bicycle accident in December 2024. I paid the required $2,000 deposit to reserve my spot. At the time I committed to the Intensive and paid the deposit, I do not recall the cancellation policy being reviewed with me or being asked to acknowledge it again as part of enrolling in the program. Unfortunately, before my scheduled visit, I was involved in a second accident when I was rear-ended in March 2026. The injuries left me with migraine headaches and made traveling impossible. I couldn't fly and did not have anyone who could accompany me. When I contacted the office to cancel, I was told my deposit was non-refundable but that I could reschedule within a 4- to 6-week window. I explained that I was unaware of the cancellation policy for the Intensive. In response, I was sent documentation showing I had acknowledged the office policies when I initially booked my consultation. After reviewing the timestamps, I realized those acknowledgments occurred before I had even decided to enroll in the Intensive. I understand that businesses have cancellation policies and I respect the need for them. My concern is that I don't believe the cancellation terms for a $6,000 program and a $2,000 non-refundable deposit were clearly presented at the time I committed to the Intensive. Given the circumstances surrounding my second accident, I was disappointed that no exception or accommodation could be made. I am sharing my experience so prospective patients understand the importance of asking detailed questions about cancellation policies before making a significant financial commitment. I also remain hopeful that Dr. Miret and her team will reconsider my situation and refund my $2,000 deposit. I was genuinely looking forward to working with them, and my decision to cancel was based solely on unforeseen medical circumstances that made travel impossible.

I've suffered from MS like symptoms, endometriosis, and overall hormonal issues that have affected my life big time. Wound up in the ER from stroke like symptoms a couple years ago and was laughed out bc I'm only 30yo. I've seen a handful of naturopaths, and although they are much more diligent than typical Drs, I was still struggling. As last resort I went to a local acupuncturist who began to change my life. Only issue was he couldn't run tests and I still had no real answers, but he made me a believer in Eastern medicine. That's when I found Dr. Weber.
