Get the rotisserie chicken with whatever sides you like and the onion loaf. Service is usually rushed, but that's ok - you are here for affordable decent food - not a high end romantic restaurant. Restrooms are high traffic and a bit questionable in cleanliness - and down this weird hallway on the second floor. Would I go back to this location? The food just like many other places is now over priced what I don't like that they are currently doing is - they are cutting the ribs in half and serving it to you as a rack of ribs - a month ago when we went there we were able to get the new sticky wings a whole regular rack just as normal; last week however we went there we ordered two of the same as ribs and we we received was one order cut in half l. BBQ is a place that would never fail you with the drinks and food that you are use too. I'm use to the spicy cool ranch hot wings and corn bread and a Texas size drink. But different location you would get different hospitality and service. This location was pack but our service was bad. They took forever to bring us menus. Our drinks went to the wrong table. My cousin chicken sandwich was awful the tenders for the sandwich was so hard and dry. The truffle Mac and cheese was tasteless. I ordered 10 wings and 3 orders of fries yesterday to go. The wings were good but the fries were not fresh at all. They were soggy from the oil and some were just overcooked. They were old fries. So thin that when the breading was peeled back, the fish was barely able to be seen. I fry cod fish at home; filets are never less than a half-inch thick. I don't know what was passed off as cod, but it was totally unacceptable. Certainly not worth the $15 I was charged. Dallas BBQ is one of my go-to's. So disappointing! read more

Wow, food was very good, the beef ribs were delicious, the pina colada was very good. My wife enjoyed the seafood combo very much. The service was excellent, we went to the one in co-op city, our server Shaun was very polite, attentive to our any needs, great service. we also would like to commend the bus boy Jose and Adriana for keeping the place clean. So a prequel to a movie - dinner. My table mates are into burgers and I am into wings.. hence the obvious choice to dine here. Great location! Ample FREE parking. Literally around the corner from the movie theater and smack dab in the middle of the mall within eyeshot of almost everything. The fare was the normal BBQ expectations.. except.. my wings were not piping hot. They were not cold but not warm either - and I was short-changed on the number of wings I ordered. Pretty good place for some ribs. Very laid back kind of place. I had the bbq ribs along with fried shrimp. It was delicious . I ordered a virgin piña colada which had no artificial flavor. Only downside was that my soup cane after my meal and after ordering extra butter for my baked potato, I only received 2 little packets that barely did anything. Worse experience ever! I've been eating at Texas BBQ for nearly forty years, back when their only locations were in the Village. I've gone through my ups & downs at Bay Plaza, some great servers and some ... eh. With the latest COVID lockdown, I could only order takeout. I was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. 40 minutes later, no food. I asked three times about my order. It wasn't until I asked for a refund that hostess in front decided to truly check. She found out my ticket hadn't gone through. It took another 10 minutes for her and non existent manager to figure out how to process my refund. Here's the thing ... the gap in common courtesy in this situation is epic. Having managed front of the house, and back of house at different bars and cafes ... there's no way I wouldn't have offered something to a customer who had waited as long as I did. Two complimentary sodas or a non alcoholic daiquiri, can do wonders to keep a customer coming back, especially in during a pandemic where every, every customer dollar counts. read more

Long review, the short of it..... great service and honest staff. I went on a holiday Monday and it was a bit crowded but the wait wasn't bad. They were very diligent with getting everyone checked in according to protocol. Our server Ashley was PHENOMENAL. Took care of us and treated us as if we were the only customers she had (we weren't). Fast forward a WEEK later of me going nuts, trying to find my purse. Finally decided maybe I left it there! With low expectations I called. Low and behold it was there. The manager I spoke to informed me I would have to get it myself because it had cash in it. That was fine, because it was my error and I was thankful no one could just up and grab it. As soon as I got there he recognized me and gave me my belongings. I appreciate the whole staff and their honesty. My drink was of the familiar BBQ quality, but the wings (which I specifically came for) were not. There was something funky about that sauce. I hope it was a reflection of the cooks @ t this location and not the entire chain, because I used to really enjoy their henney wings. They didn't even really look the same, and they didn't taste like the wings I'm used to from other locations . On top of the fact that I ordered 10, and received 9. Also, The cornbread didn't have the cake-like consistency or the buttery taste that I'm accustomed to. And as for the "free" cupcakes, they are from stop&shop, and I only know because I saw the plastic packages with the cupcakes sitting up front. So, the beau and I decided to take advantage of this one particular dreary, raining Saturday and go, for the first time, to the new Bay Plaza Mall. I was feening for some meat and I've always wanted to try the beef ribs. When those ribs came out they were monstrous! I looked like a glutton, but I didn't care, cause they were surprisingly good. The ribs didn't have any smoky flavor, which worked, smoked meat can be overwhelming to me at times. These were tender, juicy and a bit sweet from their already applied sauce and to top things off for $13.99 you get a meal that can feed three, which is so much more than your money's worth. Aside from my meal, another plus that day was the service. We were happy with our server Emily, I think that was her name. She's a young, jolly chick, who had a really pleasant, smily demeanor and was above par with her customer service. She checked in with us a few times, apologized when she mucked up on my drink order and rectified the situation with a smile. Our server was amazing she was incredibly attentive and timely. She was the highlight of our visit. Our concerns were the fact that they tried to state they had 6 ft distance in place between tables and in actuality they operated more on 3ft distances in between tables. A separate server we brought to their attention the spacing and she was adamant that it was a 6ft distance when it was not. A larger party came and it was very evident that there would not be 6 ft of distance between our tables. Thankfully our server taking our order moved us and where we were seated then compared to where the larger party was was then 6ft away from the other party. Also my friend had the chicken and waffles and ended up spitting out the chicken because it tasted foul and smelled awful. While I understand that things may be different during this ongoing pandemic, the quality of food should be much better. Also, don't lie about 6 ft of space if you're not adhering to it. They had an entire section they were not utilizing which would have kept people within the 6 ft distance and they refused to do so. Also their claims of outdoor dining availability was false and the weather was amazing this afternoon for outdoor dining. I came on here to write a review on my experience, but I definitely wish I went on yelp and read everyone else's reviews before going first. We were a party of 6 that came in this past Saturday. The hostess told us that the wait was going to be 25 minutes, but we ended up waiting for over an hour for our table. When we finally got to our table, they took us to the back where there were PLENTY of empty tables. Makes you wonder why in the world it took so long for us to get seated. After we were seated, we didn't see our waiter for over 20 minutes until I flagged someone down and asked where our waiter was. She eventually came to take our drink/food orders but after that we never saw her again. I had to flag someone else down to get our bill. Gratuity was already included on the bill but it was definitely undeserved. Terrible experience. One star is the lowest I am able to give them. 10/10 would NOT recommend. read more
