One of those local neighborhood spots where you just accept them for who they are. Small location, hard to park, not much seating, weird decor, questionable customer service at times, long lines, and you may even witness peculiar food prep once in a while. However, as long as you don't see anything out right gross you disregard it all... You Bless your food and enjoy the reason you even tolerated it all in the first place... the Charcoal Grilled Chicken cooked on the open grill as soon as you entered. Mouthwatering, juicy, flavorful, and tender are some of the great reasons that made you tolerate the hiccups in the first place. I don't eat red meat so I only order their tasty chicken which comes with warm grilled pita bread. I've tried the mashed potatoes and side salad once, they did the job. Anything else on the menu I didn't come here for so I really can't give an opinion. The food was OK. It was kind of like eating at a lunch room. There's a lot of meat on the ribs and the chicken was fairly good but for what it is, it is way too expensive. It's just grilled chicken and grilled ribs The mac & cheese flavorless definitely like an instant mac & cheese but I figured it would be cheap for where it is and how crummy it is. I figured it would be a hole in the wall that had good food but affordable price but the food wasvery expensive $75 on a rack of ribs and half a chicken with some salad and instant mac & cheese. I don't mind paying more if the food is delicious and there was a good service the girl working at the front was very sweet and , but it's not a normal restaurant serving situation u just walk up and order which I get but $75 for a rack of ribs and half a chicken is absolutely crazy. Although this place is a "chain" it's pretty good. Not Popeye's good, though. Meals such as a quarter or half chicken meals come with sides and a pita. These are a bargain for lunch. The menu also includes chicken cutlets, chicken fingers, chicken sandwiches, fried shrimps, fish fillets, and hamburgers. You'll also find sides (mash potatoes, corn, stuffing, standard fare) and salads. If you want to buy food for a group, you can buy a whole chicken and bunch of ribs to take home. Me and my beloved placed and order and we did not know that it would be mind changing, meat just melt in your mouth, taste and the sweet BBQ sauce was just right not to biter and not to sweet. A place close to where I live in the Bronx that has excellent BBQ Ribs and Chicken! You can drive up and grab a rack of ribs or a whole chicken to go. While I am not a great fan of their sides - there ribs and chicken are very good. The meat on there pork ribs (especially on there baby back ribs) and chicken is moist and tender. The BBQ sauce is sweet and tangy (and great for dipping your fries in!). If your near the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx stop by the Chirping Chicken to get your BBQ fix on! read more

Thank you for coming to my neighborhood! The chicken a la brasa is great. They still have to figure out the best order/pick up procedure, but they are working the kinks out. Mashed potatoes and gravy are always cold, regardless if you eat it there or take out, so get french fries instead if you crave carbs. But it's all about the chicken at this palce for me. Like other yelpers have said, the sides are all very bland. But the chicken makes up for it. Service is a little slow, but give them time to (hopefully) improve their ordering process. I wouldn't eat in very often, because there's no real separation between dining in and the line for ordering the food, so you don't get any privacy at all. And the tables are unusually large for seating for only 2 people. The decor is outdated, but I understand, the focus is on the chicken. read more

Surprising to find a Chirping Chicken all the way up in Pelham Bay, given that most are located in midtown.Having tried it before, I knew what I was in for,and knew I wanted some grilled chicken and ribs, it's what they are good at, you can skip the sides, they're ehhh at best, not bad, but not impressive. So after eating a plate and enjoying with an ice-cold Corona I was stuffed, all their combos also come with a Pita that soaked in the meats sauces (A++). Price was about 10 bucks. As for taste, it's not the best, but for a chain restaurant that you can sit at a wobbly table or get home delivery, its good enough. read more

The food at Chirping Chicken is good. The chicken off the grill has a nice char flavor on the skin and it is flavorful and moist. The pita bread is a plus and the gyros are also tasty. Delivery has taken up to 45 minutes and is cash only. Would rate higher but the customer service is severely lacking. Politeness goes a long way, especially for small businesses. read more

Excellent ribs and chicken. I'm not really crazy about the sides although the salads aren't bad. I really encourage the owners to improve on those side because they really hinder the quality of their ribs and chicken which are very good. CHICKEN!!! My favorite neighborhood chicken place. When I deem it time for a proper animal sacrifice (in this case, chicken) this is the temple I collect from. The reason why it gets three stars (and not 4) is the service. They only do the bare minimum to get the job done. But the preparation and quality of food, value, and convenience makes this a great alternative if you're sick of ordering chinese for the third time this week: WHAT TO EXPECT: - They sometimes do credit card over the phone. In my experience it depends on which girl answers the phone. - If you decide to go there physically, don't hold any expectations regarding fine dining. Though the tables are big enough to hold more than enough food for the four people it sits. - Before you step in, you'll see rotisserie pit of 20+ whole chickens through the window. If that doesn't pique your appetite, go see a doctor. Seriously. - Their menu is similar to ordering from a Mexican version of Boston Market. You have your fraction portions of chicken and sides (mashed potatoes, rice and beans, corn, etc.). They do also have ribs, but I have yet to try them. Chicken is enough of a distraction. - They have Mexican brand beers, Mexican coke (sugar replacing high fructose corn syrup), ...and that's pretty much the beverages sold there.
