The teachers mostly all seem very good at their job but end up having to slow the course down for the lowest level students. Classes get taken over by kids with behavior problems who get sent to the office and then come back to class five minutes later to do the same thing again. These kids just enjoy derailing the class and going to the office EVERY DAY. The teachers eventually just stop sending problem kids because its pointless. It ends up that a lot of classes are just run by the loudest kids who won't stop talking despite being sent to the office over and over. I feel bad for the teachers here. It's also a pretty open secret that kids can basically not do any work throughout the semester and even skip school without consequences. They will just be passed at the end of the year. I get they are trying to create a "nice" environment, but really its just an school without rules or real education. Your student will only be frustrated by the lack of real learning and the many kids who hate work and learning. Not only that, when they do graduate, they will be completely unprepared for college. I do not recommend the Einstein School, no matter lies they give you up front.

If you don't pay extra(for camps/classes/etc.), they can only really crowd into a single gym(and not even all the time due to basketball lessons) or do math/chinese packets. Additionally, I recall there being an issue with water splashing/wet floors in the bathrooms. Huayi simply closed the bathrooms (boys) and put cameras in as well. Hua Yi was also sold recently to Mrs. Sun. I remember her as a nice Chinese teacher, they have also changed their logo to a friendlier, more modern one. I hope this reflects potential changes in their building/school in future as well.

As someone who has spent time here, I can see both the good and the bad. On the positive side, while some of the kids might not be the easiest to get along with (to put it mildly), the teachers here deserve recognition. Special shoutout to Mrs. Xie and Mr. Jefferson--they're truly amazing! Many students complain about how "mean" the teachers are, but honestly, they don't realize how challenging it must be to work a demanding 9-to-5 job, managing a classroom full of unruly kids every single day. It's no easy task, and I think the teachers deserve a lot more credit for their dedication and effort. That said, there's room for improvement. Take the restrooms, for example--they're far from sanitary. They're crawling with cockroaches, and I'm pretty sure they don't meet the state's health standards. While there have been some small improvements, they're still a long way from acceptable. Then there are the classrooms. They're overcrowded, which makes it nearly impossible for teachers to give students the attention they need. The rooms themselves aren't much better--they don't even have windows, and the walls and desks are littered with graffiti and profanity (I won't repeat any of it because, well, let's keep things appropriate). On top of that, the furniture hasn't been replaced in 20 years. It's outdated and falling apart--it's long overdue for an upgrade, Mrs. Yi. (P.S they give us activities like basketball ping pong and a whole room dedicated to playing which keeps us sane and from not going crazy) Despite all this, the school is still standing and trying its best after all these years. But with just a bit of effort and investment, it could go from "just getting by" to a place everyone could truly take pride in.

He was very deep into football and the football coach ran his offense as if the children were in college, meanwhile all the classes are accelerated. My son felt frustrated and alone with out support. There are no real christian values taught to show in his practical life. For as much as these folks wave the bible, they ridicule and bully their student body. The worst decision I made ever made, dont make this decision to take your kid there without knowing that these folks are mean, they are not forgiving and they dont have one christian bone in their judgemental bodies. Its run like a cult where everyone has to drink the water and their message with out question. No one is given compassion. If you call and decide to have a conference with the upper management or teachers, you will learn that your having a conference with the whole team, which makes you feel like their on the offensive before you even discuss your grievance. Speaking and talking to people as an adult about your grievances' isnt really permitted either. If you were really speaking outside of the school on the interaction and support about the school and the parents were not being recorded, they would tell you everything is horrible and its really not a good place but for fear of losing their son or daughters favor in the school, everyone remains quiet. The teachers and principles are all nepo babies and each person has been a track coach, a principal, a guidance counselor....then their husband or wife gets dragged in and becomes a part of the "team" where your not really learning from the best people but just who is avaliable and will subscribe to their "way of doing things" Its not a nice place for my son to grow up and I am glad I got out before he lost his sense of freedom and his self esteem. He left his junior year, and he worked harder to achieve because public school doesnt accept religious classes as history but I dont regret his decision to move on. PCA is a Christian school - unapologetically standing on the Word of God for authority and guidance in all matters, including those pertaining to life, culture, gender, sexuality, etc. Those students who are unwilling to follow Biblical principles relating to God's design for gender and sexuality will find PCA frustrating not because the students and faculty are unloving or not caring, but because they are running counter to God's best for their lives. Period. My wife and I both work at PCA, all three of our children have attended PCA, and we have loved our time here at this school. PCA places Christ at the center of all that is done and while some have "complained" that PCA is an economically elite school, I have been amazed to see how far this school will go to make a Kingdom education available to any family that wants it! PCA raises and gives away literally millions of dollars for families to be able to attend - and PCA is at the forefront of trying to educate our state legislators on different educational funding opportunities to help address the cost of private education - instead of blaming PCA for providing an excellent education, those who are frustrated with the cost should be contacting their state legislators and asking why other states have passed laws that make private education more affordable and Texas hasn't. I personally know the students who have taken the time to write their negative reviews and I feel sorry for their anger and frustration, but again, their perspective of the school is really more of a commentary on their perspective on Biblical Christianity itself. If you want a school that adheres to the principles of Scripture and isn't tossed to and fro by the winds of the current cultural chaos, the comments of these students should help you understand that PCA isn't willing to compromise on Biblical truth. Due to his diagnosis, learning to read, understanding the alphabet, phonics have all been an uphill battle for him. Throw in covid and unfortunately he got further behind. So, in steps Sylvan. (He had a private tutor, who was a substitute teacher), who tutored him once and then quit because she didn't feel she was a good fit. I met with Ms. Gabrielle, the Center Director who was so welcoming and really understood a lot of my concerns. She addressed one of my concerns regarding my son needing accommodations to see and hear letters and sounds and she was able to make this accommodation for him and if not, it was a deal breaker for us. Second, Our private speech therapist had a 40 minute conversation with Ms. Gabrielle about how my son learns, where he's at with his language and what not to say because he honestly doesn't understand what that means. She has proven herself to be so instrumental in my sons ability to learn. She has also communicated this to my sons teachers. In about 4 months, my son has almost closed a years worth of learning. His teachers, Ms. Jen, Ms. Heather, Ms. Mimi And Ms. Rachel are treasures!! They really know how to teach and having them at sylvan is an asset and I'm hoping the directors notice this. They layout of the campus is beautiful. It is a 96 acre 5 building facility that looks much more like a junior college than a high school. It has duck ponds with fountains and walkways throughout the campus. At the time, I had never seen a high school quite like that. Today, there are some others with similar designs, but mostly it is still cutting edge for high school layouts. Most recently I was here for a fund raiser holiday bazaar they hold every year. The campus is still as beautiful as it ever was!
