The place just needs to close. Service isn't what it use to be. The front employees are assholes to the employees in the back. The place looks like it could star in Fallout. Which isn't a good look for a food joint. The jelly filled cookies don't taste right, the donuts are dry and taste like nothing. A very wide selection of baked goods, more than tuzzi's. Pizza is good but not as good as tuzzi's 60-70%. Sometimes tho, I really just be craving a few good squares of dalo's pizza. Given the prior reviews, we were hesitant to try the place, but it was within walking distance of our airbnb, so we gave it a try. Clerks were pleasant and helpful, we didn't experience any rudeness. The selection on Saturday AM was amazing! The baked goods, unfortunately, were not. The cannoli shell was soft, not crisp (stale?) and the filling was tasteless. The chocolate topping and the custard filling in the eclair were v. good, but the dough was...again, stale? Loved this place when I was younger. I love it still now! Pizza sweet and just melts in your mouth. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the product.. you can't beat the price. The stuffed cookies are the bomb. All there bakery good are a add on for Deseret! One stop wonder. Place is always clean but no seating inside. Grab and go. I don't live near Berwick anymore, but once a year, I will travel just for the squared PIZZA!! read more

I have lived in many areas in my life across New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Michigan and love trying local bakeries. When we closed on our home a year ago, the closing agent raved about Dalos bakery and pizza. We had need of a birthday cake so we tried Dalos. The cake was good, not "Northeast city Italian bakery" great, but good, no complaints. We picked up two heat-yourself pizzas while we were there and, while *now* understanding that this is a different local style of pizza, I will not get their pizza again because no one in my family considered it good by any measure. most employees are pretty good, there's one woman with a real attitude that has been there a long time. She often takes customers out of order and when it's mentioned to her she gets really nasty. I took my granddaughter to Dalo's because I thought she might like some pastries. But what I found was just rude people. I have three things to say about the items we purchased. Cannolis have ricotta cheese in the filling. Pumpkin roll has a cream cheese filling not icing, and pizza has mozzarella cheese on it. As far as the brownies we got there, they are just tasteless and dry. The rude people behind the counter have no business being rude because your items simply are not that good read more

The baked goods are descent, the pizza is terrible (it looked raw. I asked if it was cooked and the rude lady said yes). You can't compare it to Tuzzi's or Stuccio's at all. Berwick has some of the best pizza on the planet. I've lived in about 13 different places and nothing beats this. The best thing about Dalos is that it is also a very good bakery, unlike there very popular competition (Tuzis, and Stuchios) this extra niche puts them over the top and gives you an extra reason to go. Driving across RT 80 in PA? Dalo's is roughly 10 minutes North of I80 in Berwick, PA. (The Berwick exit is clearly marked Exit 241 RT 11 to be exact.) Dalo's has a huge selection of awesome sweets. I got doughnuts, Pumpkin Cake w/Cream Cheese Frosting, Peanut Butter Frosted & Jelly Filled, Boston Cream Bismarcks, Coconut Frosted w/Raspberry Filling, plus a Pumpkin Whoopie Pie, a Chocolate Filled, Chocolate Chip Cookie (Actually they have a selection of these filled cookies, like a surprise in every bite), etc. etc. etc. AWESOME! Plus the bakery's in a retro 70's building for you lovers of vintage architecture. They also bake pizza, but unfortunately it just wasn't time to get food, but I'd try it next time I'm passing through Definitely worth the detour, reasonably priced, and leaves you with the distinct feeling, of traveling back in time. read more

Having married into a Berwick family I was thrown into the "Pizza War", which features 2 different takes on "pizza". I prefer Dalo's, but I will have to say I think of it as something other than pizza. Dalo's sells their "pizza" by the half or full sheet, which is Sicilian style square cuts of thick crust pizza, which is topped with tomato cheese and a white "american-type" cheese. Not quiet NY style pizza, but it's worth the stop if you're in lovely Berwick. The baked goods at Dalo's are very good and always plentiful. read more

Ordered a birthday cake, it was supposed to be whipped cream icing and it was whipped on outside but butter cream in the middle. Cake was very doughy and the rest of the baked goods were very disappointed compared to how they used to be. I've only been here for their pizza (a friend of mine lives in Berwick). I think the pizza is very sub-par. Decent and filling, but I'm pretty sure they're using American cheese on their pizza, as it constantly gets stuck to the roof of your mouth. Not that it doesn't taste good, but the only reason why I eat their pizza is because my friend is getting it. If I lived in the area, I'd be searching elsewhere for my pizza. Everyone in town was telling me about this bakery. Some people loved and some people hated the pizza, but I figured I would check it out since I love sweets. They said if I waited an extra 5 minutes that I could get fresh pizza so I did. It didn't make a difference, It was horrible. I would not recommend getting pizza there. I grew up on this stuff, so I'm a little biased. That being said, the great thing about their pizza is that it is great hot or cold. Eat it straight out of the oven or for breakfast/lunch the next day. Still tastes great. Toppings are good on it, but there's nothing better than a plain cheese. For the big city snobs that say this isn't really pizza, you have to remember that this region has its own style called Old Forge pizza. Different cheese and different crust from NYC style. It's all an acquired taste. There's days I like the thin, greasy NYC slice and others where I crave the Dalo's style. On to the baked goods... They have some really good donuts and cookies there. I would suggest trying a Bismarck or some of their filled cookies. I haven't tried much else beyond that, but I imagine it's of the same quality. Overall, it's a neat local bakery that has been around for a long time. Worth the stop if you're passing through town. read more

Called to enquire about a wedding cake. Young girl on the other end of the line was borderline rude. Told me I was calling too soon as wedding isn't until May of 2019. Tried to explain that other bakeries we contacted recommended at least 1 year notice. She stated that she couldn't give a price on cakes more than 6 months out. Then she says, "Just so you're aware, we don't deliver cakes anymore so you'll have to pick it up yourself." How can you offer wedding cakes, but state you no longer deliver them? read more

Dalo's is one of the few really great bakeries in the area. Cookies, donuts, pastries, and bread can all be found here, however, the main selling point almost always seems to be the pizza. To accurately describe the pizza, I would use words like rubber, cardboard, and tasteless. However, if bread and treats are what you seek, look no further. read more

Pizza is great. I always seem to have problems with service though. One time I called in a order and when I got there to pick it up they told me they didn't have such name. One of the best white broccoli pizzas I've had. the regular pizza is alright but the white broccoli is downright delicious, easily in my top three of favorite pizza's. I grew up going to dalos and always loved this bakery but lately I have mixed feelings.yesterday I stopped in to get their glazed raisin doughnuts well when I got home and waited to serve them to my in laws I opened the box to find out they were just plain glazed doughnuts ant to top that off it had a large mosquito stuck to the glaze.
