The receptionist was very friendly and professional, and even though not a technician, offered up a few basics to check before they sent someone out in the morning. Josh was my technician who called to let me know he was on his way about 10-15 minutes beforehand which was great, and was even a few minutes early. He was able to point out to me how my furnace worked while he was working, and explained what all of the parts were without making me feel like an idiot so I could do a little more intermediate troubleshooting if something were to happen again. Josh found the issue and showed me the part that was broken, what function it had and why it likely had broken down. He was in and out in about an hour, was very professional and helped explain a lot of things that I didn't understand. As a fairly new homeowner I appreciated the extra time taken so I could get a better comprehension of what was going on. I will definitely be using Hanna's for any other issue I ever come across, and would highly recommend them.

Eric came and was very informative and knowledgeable about what the house size would need and did not try and up-sell any expensive thermostats or any one particular type of furnace or A/C, but instead took the time to fully explain modern operation and controls and which one would qualify for Alliant rebates. Of the 5 bids Eric's bid was very competitive on price and he was able to schedule me in right away. My first impression of Eric is of a very trustable, dependable person. The bid was to replace furnace, A/C and water heater (Power vented gas) and install gas lines to stove and dryer. Installation to start 11/12 August 2020. A large storm moved through Cedar Rapids and knocked out power to the town for 8 days. Rescheduled for 27 Aug. Eric showed up at 0730 Thursday and Friday and with a helper, did the install. Looks good and works great. He took away all the old stuff and left the place very clean. Eric and his assistant were very nice to work with and I would recommend them to anyone as a competitive, competent HVAC / water heater source. Melinda is the contact person for the office and she is very quick to respond to phone calls or emails. The quote she sent was very clear and understandable. Some of the other contractor quotes I received were very limited on information so it was hard to determine from them what the charges were for. With Furnace Pro, I knew what I was paying for and Melinda was very pleasant to talk to about scheduling installation and any rebate / bill questions.

This is what they had originally agreed to do the first time. I have been debating whether three stars is too kind in this instance as they have successfully completed the maintenance they were originally suppose to complete. Only charging us labor this time discredits the time that we previously lost coordinating our schedules and then needing to re coordinate when they called back to reschedule. I understand that mistakes do happen, and credit them for coming back. I am leaving the original comments below because the frustration is real. "We purchased our house two years ago and were told the AC unit was under warranty. We had our annual check completed last week where we discovered the AC turbine was broken and needed to be repaired. We did not know who installed the unit so I used the serial number to track the part from the distributor in Waterloo. I contacted LINS Heating & Air Conditioning and they confirmed that they installed the unit and that it would be under warranty. Fast forward to the technician showing up and taking an hour to tell us that the maintenance would not be covered and we would need to pay $130 to cover the hour it took to do nothing. I called the office and they said they were sorry for the trouble but they would accept the warranty and they would not charge for the first hour where nothing was completed. Shortly after that the owner of the company called me to say he was going to "intervene" with our problem. He informed me that they would not be covering the parts under warranty because it was clearly stated on the invoice that was given to the previous owners that their company needed to be the one to complete the annual inspection for the unit to remain under warranty. The entire experience lacked any form of customer service and I would not recommend them to anyone. To have them tell us two separate times that the maintenance would be covered and then have the owner not take any responsibility was frustrating.If they have already installed anything in your home I would recommend getting a home warranty to help cover maintenance cost when it inevitably breaks."

Marc was able to locate a replacement but had to drive to Davenport early the next morning, through sub-zero temperatures and terrible driving conditions, to pick it up. Federal Express and UPS had shut down due to the bad weather. The same day, after the county maintainer finally cleared our rural road, Shane came back out to install it. I called and made an appointment for a technician from Mt Vernon Heating and Cooling to come and address the issue. The initial technician was unable to fix the problem, and due to unpredictable factors, they were not able to send another technician over for the rest of the day or evening. However, the owner and his wife, after spending long hours well into the early morning resolving issues for other customers, came by personally to take care of me. They were very apologetic for the lack of communication and for my experience with the first technician, and set about right away to figuring out the problem. They had my AC repaired and running in no time, and were very knowledgeable, pleasant, and professional. Despite my initial frustration, I was very happy with the end result - I realize that factors beyond their control had derailed most of the day for them, and I very much appreciate them taking the time to stop by even though they were exhausted and it was nearly 3am. I will absolutely recommend them to others - I can't speak to the quality of any other technicians on their team, but my experience with the owner and his wife has earned them a grateful and loyal customer.
