So disappointed in the owners of this marina. My wife and children witnessed the owners ( husband and wife, Shelby) treat several customers with such rudeness we had to explain to our children that not all people are so rude and maybe they were just having a bad day. But then we witnessed their daughter do the same to folks docking one the rental pontoons. She barked at the customers as they were gathering their belongings at the end of the rental period. This family should be ashamed. I would suggest they find another line of work since they didn't seem to enjoy this one. Very disappointed. The public beaches and launch facilities were nice though. Picnic tables and grilling areas were well maintained. read more

We rent 6-7 times a year at various lakes and Dam Wat Pontoon Rental is by far our favorite place to go. We would not dream of going anywhere else at Carlyle. Their boats are beautiful, clean and well-maintained. There are several options of pontoons and tritoons. The family that runs the marina are very professional, at the same time personable, and it is obvious that they take pride in the condition of their rental boats and entire property. The gas and store prices seem reasonable. If you are even considering boating on Carlyle lake, take a few minutes to prepare yourself by taking the online safety class and printing the certificate. I believe it is required by state law. This will get you on the water a lot faster. read more

Mostly unpleasant. Took half an hour of technical issues, videos, and a short online quiz for each of the four of us before we were allowed to rent the kayaks. We had to guess how long we'd be out, and they wouldn't tell us how much extra it cost if we brought them back late. We changed one-by-one in the one bathroom. Finally got in the water an hour after arriving. Only then did a rude young employee tell us our two hours rental began twenty minutes before. It's a Thursday, business is light, and there are lots of extra kayaks. Back in the office, a woman with more business experience compromised and gave us one hour and fifty minutes of our two-hour rental. The first half hour was not enjoyable, after the experience with the staff. The last half hour was spent worrying about getting back in time, and we missed a nice side trip. The lake itself was nice. We saw several herons, in the one good hour out of three. But we would never return to this business. read more

We had tons of fun! The double kayaks were awesome. The lake was very clean and nice.

Loved it! Was a very relaxing afternoon. I will do it again, probably bring the grandkids.

I am very disappointed with their costumer service and the way they do business in general. They called and canceled my boat reservation an hour before we were supposed to be on the lake for what they claim was a boat malfunction. I was treated rudely and offered no type of compensation for their last minute cancelation on any future rental. I booked a few day cabin stay for $400 around this day of boating, I have 3 small children who were devastated, and the office manager Holly showed absolutely no sympathy. I asked what they would have charged me for cancelation after a reservation. I was told full price! Yet they offered me nothing after this experience, couldn't guarantee me a boat the next day, when going to the office to try and speak with someone or get contact information for the owners two males approached us cussing and threatening us. We left immediately back to our cabin when the police showed up and informed us they Dam West said they would no longer do any business with us (as if we wanted their business at this point). The police were very understandable to our situation and said this is something that happens often with them. I would not recommend planning a fun day from a rental through this place because you will end up disappointed. Grafton Harbor has much better services at a cheaper rate :) read more
