He has not made any significant progress on the resolution of the estate and has racked up an absurd bill that I will have to submit for arbitration. For an attorney that charges $310/hr in Jackson, MS, I am beyond disappointed. Shop around before you select an estate attorney with this firm.

Waste of Time, Money, and Energy…read more My experience with Jerrod Rayborn from Cordell and Cordell was nothing short of disappointing. We went to court three different times, and honestly, I wish I had never hired them. The first time in court, Jerrod seemed confident -- but the opposing attorney didn't even show up, so there wasn't much to judge. By the second time, things started to feel off. Communication was terrible, and it felt like I had to chase updates or push for basic answers. Jerrod only seemed interested in my financial info and even told me we should just settle for child support instead of fighting for what was right. I had to be the one to say, "No, we're going forward with the hearing." The only reason things went my way that day was because I spoke up for myself, not because of anything Jerrod did. Not to mention, the first two court hearings started in Madison County, but somehow the final hearing ended up in Yazoo County -- where the opposing counsel lived and clearly had more support. The child's mother took our child from Texas (where the child was born) to Mississippi without my permission, and I had to drive from Texas to Mississippi multiple times for this case -- all while working and trying to do the right thing as a parent. Jerrod showed no concern whatsoever for the amount of stress, distance, or emotional toll that put on me. It felt like none of that mattered to him. The third court date was honestly the most painful. Jerrod and the opposing attorney acted like buddies. He didn't fight for me. He didn't use the evidence I gave him -- not one piece. It was like he was afraid to speak up or challenge anything. I sat there watching him just fold while the other side ran the show. It was embarrassing and heartbreaking. After court, he showed no empathy, no concern, nothing. It honestly felt like he was just relieved it was over so he could move on to the next client. Meanwhile, I'm still here, fighting the same custody and visitation issues, as if I never went to court at all. Because of this, I am now afraid to work with any attorney again. I'd rather not even fight than go through losing thousands of dollars and being left with nothing but disappointment. Cordell and Cordell took my money and gave me nothing but stress and heartbreak in return. If you're thinking about hiring them -- don't. Save yourself the time, the money, and the emotional toll.
