Last night was my second time at Fields and if they were in my city, it would be my go to restaurant always. The first visit was a happy accident and we had the time of our lives. The staff is amazing, fun, friendly and knowledgeable. The martinis are outstanding and every appetizer is a winner! This time we chose the Steakhouse Chips, Oyster Pot Pie, Chargrilled and casino oysters and a truffle fry. We intended on getting a steak to share but were too full. If i could give no stars I would. We have being for going to Fields off and on since they opened when we visited BSL monthly for years. The first several experiences were great! Food & service were both excellent. The chef then changed as did management. We then had a really bad experience (I didn't write a review), we then had 2 more bad experiences and I was done. However a few weeks ago my sister convinced us to give it another try. She said new management yet again. From start to finish it was a disaster despite being nearly empty. We waited an hour for our steaks, which were just ok at best. We then ordered deserts, same thing we waited a ridiculously long time. The manger popped by and proceeded to tell us they were short staffed due to a private party! Ummm, it's called "staff planning and management". As for cocktails, the cucumber gimlet and the jasmine were delectable and I would definitely recommend. I have tried Trapani's-4*, Beach Side Bistro-2*, 200 N Beach-4*, S&B-4*, Rum Kitchen-2*. Fried green tomatoes standalone: perfect thickness 1/4 ish, hand battered and seasoned lightly not salty, fried golden brown with no grease residue. NOW even though they are stacked in-between crab cakes they remain perfectly crisp. Crab cakes = superb Sauce = superb Just delicious! A full meal to be honest. read more

Last night we took a friend to dinner for her 50th birthday. She has been wanting to try Field's and we made it happen. This meal was delicious, every single bite was a taste sensation. The BBQ shrimp tasted like heaven (we are from Louisiana so we know what good food is ) The steaks melted in our mouth and the plating made it even better. Don't miss out on the truffle fries, they are a favorite. We had the best luck getting Delilah as our server. She was so good with our order and answered all of our questions, very professional but so much fun for our group. Then, we received a wonderful blessing. Someone paid for our entire meal, tip and all. We never found out who it was but this person made our entire weekend. If the person who blessed us ever reads this, thank you! Pretty solid restaurant in BSL! My friend and I came through Bay St Louis and decided to stop in here and check it out. At first glance, it doesn't look like much but once inside the restaurant is rather spacious and gorgeously decorated. I loved the design! We opted to sit at the bar. We had multiple employees check on us throughout, which was really nice. They had a great drink menu and a modest but decent selection of wines and whiskeys. The food menu was good but I had a hard time choosing a selection because I really wanted a pizza and they were out of dough. Nothing else seemed overly appealing to me. We ended up going with the oysters as an appetizer and they were truly excellent. I then ordered their small filet and a side salad as my entree and both were fine. Probably the top "white table cloth" restaurant in Bay St Louis. My friend and I came here twice. The first time we came in for oysters and they were delicious. Perfectly shucked Murder Point Alabama oysters at a great price. We came back for brunch last Sunday. We split the Crab Cake Benedict and the breakfast burger. We should have just ordered the CCB each because that was outstanding and one of the best crab cakes ive ever had. The burger was terribly overcooked. When you tell a "steakhouse" rare you expect rare, this burger came out overcooked and hideously dry. If we weren't splitting it I would have sent it back. Im glad we didn't order the steak and eggs, something we thought about ordering because if it came back over cooked we would have sent it back to start over. No complaints here. We come to BSL three or four times a year and pop into different places all the time. Last visit here this place was a different restaurant. We decided to give it a try. We sat at the bar since we decided to just have some sides or an appetizer. The barkeep made me a lovely chocolate martini and my husband had a draft. We had the lobster fries, the mashed potatoes with parm and a steak and cheese flatbread. The food was all very very good. It is a beautifully done bar and dining room and the bathroom was clean and also lovely. Only complaint need more/better beers in tap. I have gone here a number of times, and I've never had a bad meal. The appetizer that's a must is the seafood nachos. Sometimes I just get the seafood nachos as my entrée. The service is always top notch and never rushes a party to turn over a table. The one thing that I've noticed that has improved since the restaurant open is the size of the tables and comfort of the chairs. Unless I ask for it, I don't expect my steak to come dressed. The collard greens are not what I expected. Being from the south, I've had good collard greens, I would say these are average. Most of the staff would rather stay in the room and talk and wait on customers. The only girl working hard was the blonde girl behind the bar. The other bartender, Wes, seem to be more interested in chitchatting and slowly making drinks and paying attention to customers. Ok Keto Peeps, I have to share this with ya'll. I've just have been blessed with the BEST meal of my life. Top 3 without a doubt. A newly opened steak house called Field's Steak & Oyster in Bay St Louis, MS. The young Chef Fields graduated culinary school in NYC and worked at a Japanese Steakhouse there. It transformed his skill set to magic...there he learned how to sear a crust on a medium rare aged beef filet that surprised with a crispy crust and then, inside, perfectly tender cooked beef that melted in my mouth. Every bite was ecstasy. The Sides were shaved Brussel sprouts and steamed asparagus with pimentos. Greek chargrilled Oysters as an appetizer were savory and sharp. Everything was prepared with the highest form of culinary mastery. Enjthe photos and if you're in the Bay, check this place out!! Update 9/28/19 Scheduled to do something challenging both physically, emotionally and mentally this weekend. Based on a recommendation from friends, we took the short drive to a new experience (which I always like)..it was a Thursday and also my birthday so we wanted to try their Facebook special - two 4 oz lobster tails on a crab cake with a side of asparagus.
