My first time using Dan the Blind Man, and I will definitely be using him again and telling my neighbors about him! The homes where I live are all about 20 years old, and many of us have broken blind strings. I called Dan, and we set up for a few weeks out on April 25th, 2022. I hadn't heard from him, so I was crossing my fingers that he would be on time, and HE WAS!!! I quickly showed him all of the broken blinds (strings broken or missing, and blinds tipped sideways when lifted), and he got to work immediately. Within 1 hour after he arrived, he had restrung 4 blinds for me, at $50 apiece. He called me in and let me inspect them for how easy they would go up and down now, and stay level! Wow, I thought I would have to buy new blinds, but now they are as good as new! Dan was very professional, and about the nicest guy/worker I've ever had in my home! I called Dan after seeing him on Yelp (and another company) for a rental property that needed 20+ vinyl blinds installed. Dan came out to measure and emailed me the quote with a time frame of 2-3 weeks for the ordered blinds (as there were many custom sizes.) The other co. didn't want to give me the quote until they "explained" why it was so much.... "a fancy, pleated blind" even though I asked for a basic white vinyl blind because they will most likely have to be replaced when the place is re-rented. I paid 70% of the order price up front, with a credit card, with balance due upon install. The blinds came in much faster than he expected. The blinds were appropriately placed in the openings and fit perfectly (no blinds were previously installed.) After install, I realized a kitchen window had not been included in the bid. There were so many windows to remember I'm surprised I didn't miss more. Dan said he had an extra blind that he could resize and install the next day, which was great since it needed to be ready in 2 days. I don't know if he has a catalog of products for other selections since I called for just needed basic white vinyl blinds. I would definitely call Dan the Blind Man again. read more

"I worked in vacation rental management for 12 years in Breckenridge, Co and dealt with handymen/construction people almost every day. I never did get used to, or like "Breckenridge contractor time (always late, if they even show up). I have found that a lot of front range contractor time is not that much different. I was surprised that it took 3 weeks just to get an estimate form DantheBlindman, and was trying to scramble to find his phone number 10 minutes before his scheduled arrival to make sure he was coming. I didn't find it but Dan rang the doorbell at the exact scheduled time. My experience with recent remodeling was that most contractors would do what you told them to, but not offer any helpful suggestions. I have 3 windows on my 18 foot front wall that I need a very tall ladder just to open or close the blinds. I was actually prepared to pay up to $500 per window for new blinds and a remote system to operate them. Dan offered the suggestion of lengthening the cords, which I thought was brilliant. He said the shades were in good shape, and he would only charge me $100. Dan saved me lots of money with his common sense suggestion. I would give him 10 stars out of 5 for his professionalism, honesty and skill, and I highly recommend him for anything having to do with blinds. From the initial contact by phone, Dan was friendly, courteous, professional, and up-front about the possible costs involved. Dan called before coming over that he was on his way, actually arrived a few minutes early, took off his street shoes and wore "inside" shoes (and changed shoes every time he went out to his truck for tools), gave a fair quote for the repair job, worked diligently while here, was very courteous in explaining his methods, and cleaned up after the work was done. I asked Dan to fix blinds in a Condominium I own, he said he was busy but when I offered him extra money he said he would come over at the end of the day on a Wednesday. He texted me asking if he could come over earlier and I said yes. He did come over and fix the gear on the blinds. I asked him if he would come over the next day and install new blinds for me in another Condominium. He agreed and then told me he would be there the next day after 2pm. The next day he texted me at 11:30 and asked me if he could come over I said fine, but when he came back I had to run back to work for a meeting. Then he texted saying the louvers on the blinds were to long and there would be an extra charge for that. After I negotiated with him to pay one price for everything he agreed only if I would pay in cash (Gee I wonder he wanted cash only?!?!) I agreed and told him I was going in to a meeting at work and to wait for me so I could pay him afterwards. He wanted cash upfront, He accused me of trying to rip him off and left. After my meeting he said he would come back, so I had to babysit him and watch while he did the install. He wasted my time and his for no reason at all. He didn't properly cut the bottoms of all the louvers so I had to. He does very average work at average prices and has no sense of professionalism or respect for anyones schedule, he never showed up at the time he said he would I would call some else next time read more

The wide shade in the living room is especially tricky to re-cord, but Dan did so professionally and with care. Dan was extremely quick to respond when I contacted him. We had to schedule a couple weeks out, but we were not in a rush. When he showed up, he was extremely professional. Both he and his helper removed their shoes, without being asked. When they placed their toolboxes down, they were very careful not to scratch the floors. He fixed both of our Hunter Douglas blinds in about 30-45 minutes. His pricing was extremely reasonable. He only charged $35 for the house all. That was worth every penny to me that I didn't have to take the blinds down myself. We live in north Thornton so it was totally worth it.
