I ran into my neighbors fence with a pedal bike cracked a lower channel cost 72 dollars shipped to my door. The charged me 350 dallars to do the whole job took them 22 minutes. They told me they needed special tools to do it, my wife and i did it with our hands and no tools the first time its not rocket science. When i called the company they always took multiple days to return my phone call or email. For 350 dollars they replaced one channel on the bottom (72 dollars if i bought it) and less than 30 min time. I hope my my neighbor is happy.

After meeting with Jim he gave me his honest opinion on what I wanted and then explained his ideas for my garage. After a little hesitation on my part and a couple changes to Jim's ideas we went with his recommendation and could not be happier. The quality of his work and craftsmanship is incredible and believe me I notice everything. Everyday during the construction from the grading, concrete, electrical, framing, roof, siding and trim work Jim was here making sure everything was perfect and we were happy. We also had Jim open up the back wall of our current attached garage and add a garage door to make it a drive thru garage. As for pricing Jim was very competitive and upfront with the costs my build was right on the money to what he originally quoted with the exception of some extra stone and concrete do to the grade of our yard but he was upfront with that right away at the beginning of the build so there was no surprise at the end. The person spent time going over the work and left, saying he would have quote in few days. Waited till end of the week and no quote. My wife reached out on Friday and was told they would work on the quote and have by Monday. Well this was few weeks ago and no response. I don't understand why you guys waste my wife's time looking at project, then don't follow up. If the job is not big enough just tell us, don't waste our time. I would say if you have big job they deem it is worth their time, give them a call, otherwise find contractor that actually wants to do the work.

We recently hired Chicago Porch Experts by Emtrak Construction to redeck the third floor and then power wash and stain the entire porch. We had a terrible experience. The primary issue is with communication and organization. The actual work, primarily the redecking, is good, which is saving them from a one-star rating. But they lack the organizational skills to work on a project of this scope. I'm not going to list out every single incident, but there was a lot of miscommunication throughout the entire process that caused a ton of strife for the building. Lots of my emails went unanswered, and they refused to schedule anything, even when I'd ask for tentative dates, in favor of either showing up unannounced or only giving me 12 hours notice of when work would start. I have to give ample heads up to the building so that they can move their furniture and so that they know they won't have access to the deck for the day. Despite telling them this, Chicago Porch Experts would not/could not accommodate this. They tried to make things right, I'll give them credit for that, but it was not sufficient for the amount of issues created. Out of all the contractors I've worked with in my role as president, this is the worst of them by far. I don't recommend using Chicago Porch Experts if you're a condo association or anyone looking to have larger work done past simple decks for single family residences.

I had a tight schedule while I was in town to get a 50+ year old deteriorating wood fence and gate…read moreremoved and replaced. After getting several quotes and recommendations, I went with Michael Kelly, owner of Mr. Fence, to remove the 60 ft long wood fence used to separate 2 adjacent properties and replace it with a more economical chain link fence. I chose Michael because he was responsive and willing to readjust his work schedule to meet my short time frame. His pricing was also very fair and competitive for the scope of work. After the site visit and getting his formal quote, Michael and his crew was able to start work within 2 days on a Saturday. David did a great job in removing the wood fence, installing the new support posts in concrete, and cleaning up afterwards on the first day. Michael came 2-3 days later after the concrete had time to fully cure to install the chain link to the support posts and install a new gate. Throughout the process, Michael was open and accommodating to my thoughts and ideas to ensure the finished product met my expectations. He also helped me with some related minor "handyman" type repairs that was well beyond his scope of work which were much appreciated. Michael made sure the work was done right and to my satisfaction. I highly recommend Mr. Fence for your big or small fencing needs. Mr. Fence has become my preferred fence company and I have no hesitation in simply calling them and using them again.
