I've had Dan out to my property a number of times. Recently, I had a massive pine tree crash through my fence. They removed everything, cleaned up perfectly. The first time they were here for a full day and removed a lot of trees. My neighbor had removed some on his property and had piles of branches, I asked Dan if he could clean those as well. I found Dan when I saw his truck heading up our street to work for a neighbor; we had just moved to the area and needed at least a dozen huge trees taken down around our new house. Dan came out to walk around the property and gave us an estimate which was excellent value for money. On the day of the job he showed up with a crew and a crane. Watching him work with his crew was poetry in motion, these guys are EXPERTS. We wanted more trees taken down the following year to achieve our goal and again were delighted with his service. There was one big, tall tree that could not be removed using the crane and watching them take it down as a team was incredible. Some real glaring issues here. Earlier this week, Dan the Tree Man came out to my elderly female neighbor's house and took advantage of her fears that a live, non-threatening, healthy tree limb would imminently crash into her bathroom. I had previously had my own tree inspector come out, and after removing the only dead, possible-threat tree from same clump, he said this particular one was perfectly stable. Also, while there, Dan's workers knocked out a temporary support beam that was holding up my side of the fence. This was in place (with my elderly neighbor's permission) because we knew the fence was old and were trying to wait until the summer to have it replaced (we are saving up). Either way, it was perfectly stable and had been for at least the last 6 months -- until Dan's workers moved it. Why? To get their equipment in, which, btw, left huge rut marks across the neighbor's yard. Last night, not 5 days later, my fence caved in and collapsed -- and I only noticed it when my dog, who is perfectly safe to run to his little heart's content in my FENCED-IN backyard, escaped through the hole. After coming back from chasing him across two neighbor's yards and a busy main road, I found the gaping, person-sized gap in the corner ... not 2 feet from where Dan's tree men were working. If you want to pay a lot of money to take down unnecessary tree branches (I had quoted them before I hired my own guy, and they were 3x as much as what I eventually paid), damage your neighbor's property (i.e., my fence) and leave tire tracks on your lawn, hire Dan. Otherwise, choose someone else. read more

Dan gave me a free estimate (that was lower than everyone else). No one wanted to do this tree. it was huge, in a tight lake community neighborhood, basically in the road, and 100+ ft tall, totally dead pine. Dan was way less than everyone else who came to estimate (By At least $1k) and was earlier than he expected by a few weeks and earlier than expected on the day scheduled to cut it down. He had the whole space cleared and he was gone in 2 hours. Like a boy scout, they left my yard way cleaner than it was, and even took some blow downs/brush out of my side lot and around my yard and threw that in the chipper too, which was a great help! The overall experience was excellent. All the guys were very nice, and myself and 5 other neighbors are really happy this giant tree isn't going to fall on us all. Dan even took the time to explain to one of my grumpier neighbors that the tree was on my property, showed him the property stakes and calmly talked him down from the ledge. It all actually turned out well because I met all my neighbors and hung out with them, even the grumpy one, after 2 years of living there. I am still baffled how they took this giant tree out of my .1 acre lot, with houses only 15-20 feet away in every direction. The precision was amazing, especially the crane operator and Dan. They all communicate very well as a team, and Dan scales up these giant trees and makes the sectional cuts himself and positions the cranes harness to bring out 30 ft. vertical sections of trees. I'm sure it takes a lot of experience to do that in such close proximity to cars, people and houses. read more

Dan came out and did a free estimate to take down a tree that was really close to my house, and came in way lower than any other company I called (some didn't even want to do the job). Dan and his team made it out to my house on time, and took down the tree safely and quickly with no hangups or unexpected added costs. They did an awesome job cleaning up afterwards, and neatly stacked up all the firewood i wanted to keep. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for tree service. read more
