The snacks were never restocked, they were dealing with code yellows while understaffed, and when the staff ask to buy new supplies for the kids, its takes so much time to deliver or they just get completely ghosted! Again, the staff is amazing but management could use a lot of work. My Childs favorite staff were, Mandy, Gio, and Abby. Do better!!

Our baby is medically complex and ventilator-dependent. From the moment he arrived, they made unauthorized changes to his trach and vent settings. Nurses admitted to suctioning far beyond the safe depth. The tubing was never replaced during his stay and was full of mucus and visible mold. Alarms went ignored. We found him choking on secretions more than once while staff stood by. They inserted an incorrect feeding tube, gave medications unnecessarily, and failed to send proper documentation when transferring him back to Boston Children's. Even BCH staff were stunned by the state he returned in. This place didn't care. They didn't treat him like a human being. They made him worse. They lied, avoided accountability, and acted like we were the problem for asking questions. I wouldn't trust this place with a houseplant, never mind a child. If you are a parent, please do your research. Franciscan Children's failed our son in every way that matters.

I openly question whether all those folks with MD after their names are even truly MD's at all. The place can't even hire people that know how to answer a phone and the ones that do can't figure out how to transfer the call correctly. The leadership should just resign, they couldn't care less about patient care, it's all about profits and if that means incompetent practitioners that require you to be seen multiple times so they can bill excessively then that's what they do. What a truly pathetic place lead by pathetic careless individuals more concerned with their preferred parking than actually making peoples lives healthier.

It was fairly crowded, but we were called back for testing in a pretty reasonable manner. The providers were fantastic at keeping everyone relaxed despite the overwhelming night. The front desk receptionists are kind and attentive to everyone - the waiting room was pretty well-managed given the crowd and timing. I appreciated the water and phone chargers that are provided in the waiting room! However, following the blood test, we were not told that the results would be available for review on the online portal until nearly three hours of waiting for a doctor to call us back. We received her results within the hour of the test and could have left right after, but killed time waiting. I've taken other people here in the past and have never had this problem. Better communication in that regard would have been appreciated. Overall, it was a fine experience and this is definitely my go-to ER over the others in the area. Personally, I see several providers in a variety of specialities at Brigham outside of the ER and have had nothing but good things to say, especially the dermatology department. As an out-of-state college student, Brigham is always in my insurance network and it's never a huge hassle to schedule consultations or follow-ups.

I got a letter from BMC about a problem with Medicare. Though the envelope was addressed to me, the letter was addressed to someone else. TWO someones in fact: At the top it says "To: Isabel something" and in the body it says "Dear Pinnace somebody." And "Medicare file has a conflict with your name, date of birth and/or gender." Ya think?? You are clearly confused, BMC. Are you using AI maybe? I only ask because I have had Medicare at St. Elizabeth's for five years without a problem and now you have taken over and everything seems quite shall we say, fucked. So I called BMC, waited on hold, talked to someone I could barely hear--she sounded like she was at the bottom of a well. She put me on hold again, and after a while, without coming back, transferred me back to the main menu again. I pressed the option I thought was best and got put into a hold queue. For 25 minutes. Finally I pressed the option to get a call back. The recording said "Do you want a call back at..." and said a totally different number that isn't me at all. *sigh* My sweet Lord, these people have no clue. They give you a chance to enter a different number, so I did that. That was two hours ago. Now it's after five. I put a note in the patient portal, but they give you so few characters to write that I could hardly explain what happened. In the portal I saw a category for "Letters," presumably for the Letters they sent to you? I checked, and it says that I have no Letters. But I have this Letter in my hand. God, I miss St. E's.

The team at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center was well-informed, well-equipped and exhibited superior bedside manner during my stay after having emergency surgery. During my time at the hospital Dr. Anu Hazra in infectious disease was quick to ensure that I was going to recover as soon as possible. My surgical team made up of Dr. Umesh Metkar and Dr. Michael Van Hal, were extremely knowledgeable. But what put my mind at ease was not only the display of their medical expertise but the care with which they treated me as a patient. Dr. Umesh Metkar and Dr. Michael Van Hal took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, next steps and recovery time and helped me feel more comfortable putting my faith in his surgical skills. During my recovery they checked in on my progress and continued to exhibit unrivaled professionalism, empathy and attentiveness to my care. In addition, the entire team of nurses and staff within the transplant unit mirrored the exceptional traits that Dr. Umesh Metkar and Dr. Michael Van Hal has displayed during each and every one of my interactions with them. They remained steadfast in their dedication to quality care, ensuring that my health was closely monitored and that I was made to feel as comfortable as possible. When I had any questions or issues that needed resolution the nursing staff was able to respond and come to my aid. In particular Julie, Christie, Melissa, Ligaya, Andrea, and Yelena were wonderful! The nursing staff was smart, personable and are what I would consider to be one of the biggest assets to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Should you ever need medical treatment, this is the team you want on your side. I cannot thank Dr. Umesh Metkar and Dr. Michael Van Hal, Melissa Aiesi, Ligaya Hannaford, Andrea Barbosa, and Yelena Kozhebrodskaya and of course Liz for all that they have done for me and all that they continue to do for all of their patients.
