Our 87yo dad lives at Regency Retirement Village in the Memory Care unit. After disappointing…read morestays at 2 other area memory care facilities, we have finally found the right place for him. There are probably less than 20 residents at max capacity, and the entire area is open so the staff can see all the residents all the time, unless they are in thier apartments. Our dad has advanced dementia and can be difficult. The other facilities where he lived could not (or would not) redirect him when he became agitated. The staff at Regency, from the ED to the floor staff are kind and compassionate and PATIENT. During the Coronavirus lockdown, they have been in frequent contact with us to update us on Dad's condition and demeanor. He is happier and calmer than he has ever been.

The directors--last name's Rochelle and Chapman are incompetent shiests. Please reconsider your options, this place is about one thing: making money. Sadly, it seems most of these facilities aren't run by truly caring, altruistic people. Think twice about this place, your loved one would not thrive. None of this is to mention the COVID-19 cases here which they don't like to talk about. I reiterate, reconsider your options. There are facilities south of town that are much better; Glenwood for example, as well as many in Chelsea with great reviews. Good luck.

If I could give this place zero stars I would…read more The management is a complete clown show, the building has not been properly maintained for YEARS and they refuse to spend the money to fix the issues. I was family of an employee, I had to routinely go into the facility to help fix things, for free.. A man who has worked in memory and senior care for years was so appalled by what he saw he quit after a month. When urgent repairs were required, such as broken toilets, he was told the maintenance credit card with a $1000 limit FOR THE WHOLE FACILITY was maxed out! The Air Conditioning for kitchen staff is broken with no money to replace it. The elevator routinely breaks on the independent living side due to poor prior maintenance leaving the non able residents trapped on the floor of their apartment for hours+ at a time. They are eternally short staffed to the point non qualified employees are demanded to drive residents in the bus to their doctor appointments. So... Not only did I help him out for free, the guy spent a ton of his own money to provide proper safe maintenance to give the residents the bare minimum. He isn't there anymore, the next guy ain't going to spend his own money at $17 an hour either. The residents will unfortunately suffer. Yes, your grandma could have fallen through her broken balcony if I didn't go fix it. Management was well aware. You are welcome! If you take a tour there, check out the balconies yourself. The railing attachment points are rusted out, wobbly and holding on by a thread. (Don't put any weight on them!!) The wood is toast and the nails have rusted out as well. The regular employees I met and interacted with are great, same for the great residents I met on the independent living side. Unfortunately for the employees, they are let down by an incompetent management who lie on their safety reports. (Water and air temp checks required by law, and who knows what else) The stories I heard coming out of this place the last few months are astonishing. What I saw with my own eyes confirmed everything I heard. The facilities director is a nice person, but doesn't know the first part of doing her job. The sales director is clueless. So, ignore the bubbly b.s. when they're trying to sell you on the property. I would not trust this place to care for my family. If you are looking for care for the senior in your life, there are plenty of care facilities in the Birmingham area within the same price range as Peachtree. My recommendation is look elsewhere. The facility was recently bought by a national chain and hopefully when they get their hooks into this place, they'll clean shop. That'll take time though, and if you are looking now, beware! I stand by all this 100%. Any questions I might be able to answer I will respond.
