And yet here it is, a dine-in movie theater next to Cincinnati's busiest shopping district that isn't owned by AMC, Cinemark or the like. Just a unique theater experience where you wouldn't expect to find one. As you walk in, there's a small concession stand where you can buy popcorn and some other smaller snacks. But the real move is to order food from your seat. Once you get to the theater, you can recline and heat your seat (really!) and press a button to summon a server to take your order. I'll admit I wasn't thrilled about the menu at first glance, but after looking at other options around Kenwood mall the prices began to look a lot more reasonable. We decided to order dinner at the theater along with a huge bowl of (refillable) popcorn. We weren't able to get into the theater until about 15 minutes before showtime. I'm not sure if that's standard or something specific to the movie and theater we were there for. It was no big deal, but didn't leave a lot of time to order and get our food before the movie started. We there with a group of six and ordered 2nd out of three sets of couples. But for some reason were last to get our food, well into the beginning of the movie. Popcorn came out first during the trailers, along with a Coke Zero that my husband and I shared. When dinner eventually showed up everything was hot and delicious, but I didn't pay a lot of attention to it because the movie was already well underway. It's also a bit hard to see your food once the movie starts so keep that in mind--don't get anything too sloppy or messy. The chicken quesadilla is maybe at the limit of sloppy. Manageable but be careful. Overall, this theater has a lot of pros: Locally owned, good food, small theaters, interesting movie selection, convenience of eating while watching a movie. However, it looses a few points for me for the 15-minute restriction on entering the theater and the delay in getting food once ordered. I get the convenience factor but I personally would rather eat in the brighter light during the trailers + before the movie I'm here to see starts.

We accidentally walked into an area with zero signs, no fences, and absolutely no indication that it was off-limits--unless they expect guests to be psychic. Cue the staff coming at us like we were trespassing on sacred land. Rude, confrontational, and totally uncalled for. We hadn't even made it to the market yet, but after that lovely welcome, we turned right back around and bought nothing. If you're into surprise attitude and awkward standoffs instead of produce, this place is for you. Otherwise, steer clear--plenty of other farms around that don't treat potential customers like criminals for walking on grass.

For our reception, Michael took the time to get to know each of our people in the wedding party so he could give them their own personalized entrance- just about everyone really enjoyed them. I laughed at some of the things that he mentioned, as some of my guests knew what he was talking about (the memories shared). My middle son is in the Marines and was not able to make it home for the wedding so he was in contact with him, surprised me and his step-dad with a video call. In that moment, our wedding reception could not have been any better. The mood that was created with the lighting and music played helped to bring all our guests to the dance floor. Greenacres Art Center is a magical place. The grounds and the mansion feel like you are in some…read moremagical fantasy land. While it is generally closed to the public, the events are a must see. It is one of the few places in the city where you can see the Cinci Pops, the Opera, the May Festival Chorus and the Ballet all on the same stage. The summer concert series is a seems too good to be true for the price. The fall events are centered around the Greenacres Artists Guild, made up of 27 of the cities best realists fine artists and illustrators, are also quite fun. Aside from the opening art show in October, the events during the run of the show are pretty cool. The beer tasting and bourbon tastings make for a great way to check out the art while sampling local craft alcoholic beverages served by the company representatives. While the place can feel like you are entering a forbidden secret society with a long driveway lined with no trespassing signs, I recommend you check the place out. The staff are helpful and love to share info about the center. Proceeds from many of the events go to the foundations charitable activities, including the bus fund for bringing inner city kids to Indian Hills for educational programs in the arts and agriculture.

Similar to what you might find at Factory 52 in Norwood, green space has been added to face the stage and along side that is a sidewalk area with play equipment and water sprays. I'm used to being able to sit and watch the concert and go up and dance with a mostly adult atmosphere, but now families can bring their children to play while they listen to music on Friday nights. Last year we missed the Friday night summer concert series because of all of the Construction. The first night, the band Soul Pocket was able to perform until the first lightning strike. I'll have to say that the sound system is wonderful in the stage area. They've now added the ability to buy beer and a Dora cup to walk around. Macs had its pizza available for three and four dollars a slice. Of course, Park Pour is sponsoring the music summer series. This Friday night , Park Pour had table set up to serve alcoholic drinks. There are are plenty of other places like Mac's pizza, Slatts and La Rosa's to grab a bite to eat. I look forward to Friday nights in the summertime to enjoy the rest of the concert series.
