Excellent place for adult ballet classes at intermediate/advanced level. The Tuesday and Thursday…read more10:00 a.m. class with Linda Yun is relatively fast paced and challenging. Linda has a great eye and gives useful corrections. Students run the gamut from professionals who are visiting back to their home school here to retired people who have only ever danced recreationally (me, for one), so you can see wonderful dancers as examples but also feel like you belong without being professional level. Linda is calm and objective, which helps keep the stress level manageable. Mondays and Fridays at 10 a.m. Erika Patterson teaches an adult class that is newer so it is small group. Erika is a lovely dancer who gives us an aspirational example. She also has a broad knowledge of ballet education and is able to include different ways we may have been taught in the past in her corrections. Right now the pace is slower than the Tues/Thurs class but everyone gets individual corrections and can benefit. Adults pay by purchasing drop in class cards on line. Price varies from $22 at one class to $12 a class if more are purchased. Abelardo Cisneros also teaches a fun intermediate class Wednesday evenings but the time is listed different ways on the website so ask time before turning up.

Allie (dance owner) and all the teachers love all the students, they have had to have taught the big girls to be kind to the little girls because all of the bigger students are so amazing with the Littles. There are various classes , and the teachers and staff pour themselves into the students. I highly recommend this studio. Hours are convenient, staff is amazing, and the dance owner is always there if you ever need to speak with her. She's not an absentee owner. Every time I go to drop my daughter for her class , she's either teaching, or just pulling up. I will always tell people to go here when they ask where my daughter dances.

We've taken classes here with several instructors from Ms Catie to Ms Zoe and several subs who were…read moreso kind and lovely to the kids. I thought Ms Allie the owner would embody this kindness as well but we were taken aback by a recent encounter. We always followed the rules as parents and would drop off esp for ballet class since Ms Allie was strict on this policy (after first class) to not be a distraction to the kids. We've taken intro to dance, ballet 1, and this year was hoping due to schedule reasons enroll in ballet 1/2. We have been doing 2 recitals (which are expensive by the way and cost $100 per dress plus tickets you have to buy PER attendee (yes even toddler). The ballet class name this year literally is ballet 1/2, not ballet 2. To accommodate both daughters, I asked if we can enroll given we took ballet 1 the year before and my daughter was not particularly interested in lyrical 1. We were told by Ms Allie through text when we asked to change classes that this was ok (she gave green light) and we later found out after the second class (first class with her since the very first class was with one of her substitutes whom she later told me was not up to standard with that class), that she cancelled the lyrical 1 and decided to make this only a ballet 2 class. Therefore after telling my daughter and her friend they can enroll and even encouraging us to and disparaging her own sub (saying that class was not up to standard), she told us we couldn't bc the "maturity level and skill level gap was too big." I wish she could've had a talk with us after class face to face instead of delivering by text. She never communicates to us in person and only over text. I wish she never would've let my daughter in the class bc she said my daughter needed to go back to ballet 1 (pretty much a demotion just after 1 class) bc this did affect her confidence in herself after and Ms Allie said "for her confidence, I want her to be in ballet 1 for a while before she's ready" but she was more confident in the ballet 1/2 bc there were older girls she followed and emulated vs all this talk about "how was your holiday break?" and arts and crafts with the younger class at times which consumes previous class time. It was very disheartening how she told other parents the same and one of which also enrolled in the ballet 1/2. My daughter cannot be with her friend anymore in class and my younger daughter (we come there bc of the convenient time) also had to dis-enroll bc this situation just left an ill feeling with us after that it wasn't about caring for my daughter's progression but rather their lyrical 1 was under enrolled. I do love some of the teachers at the school like Ms Catie and Ms Zoe (hence 2 stars and not 1) but the way the owner Ms Allie communicates with parents and her confidence in developing my daughter was just not what you would expect in a teacher and owner, to be contradictory and always tell her she's not ready (for competition-- which I understand at this age even though her friend got in but also for ballet 1/2). It's a shame bc I always recommended their dance school to other parents and parent groups on social media and to several of my friends who enrolled. One of my friends was excited her daughter would be in same class as mine. All around just very disappointing with the level of communication and giving my daughter hope and taking that away.

"Word up" about buying tickets: do NOT buy the floor (white) seats UNLESS you can get the front row. The seats behind the very front row have NO view, and the people in front of you in this section who used their cell phones to record ABOVE their heads blocked our view even further. We were straining our necks, and bobbing left and right just to to try to see a few kiddos in each of the performances. It was further frustrating to be additionally blocked by these people in front of us who were holding their cell phones up above their heads. Why are people so thoughtless? The director CLEARLY stated "no cell phone recording", but these people felt entitled to do as they pleased and to heck with those of us behind them . What a great dance school, and WOW, such talented kiddos! We'll return again, but we'll make sure to book better seats for sure next time.
